If Tomorrow Never Come

If Tomorrow Never Come
Chapter 53. The true reality

Galuh looked at the handsome face that looked pale in front of him, then turned to look at the fingers of Reza who grasped tightly his wrist.

In the presence of doctors and medics who will handle him, Reza requested that Galuh remain nearby. And the doctor smiled, he approved the request of his patient.

“The name is Galuh Nanda. He's my fiancee, doctor. The woman I love so much, she's the most important part of my life now.” Reza continued to look at Galuh, holding his hand as if he did not want to escape.

“I totally understand. Without a brother to say though, I know she's a special woman for you.” Doctor Rendra said, then walked over and stood right next to Reza.

Reza turned his face, turned to look at doctor Rendra and smiled widely. “I want, Doctor be our witness tonight.”

“Abang,” broke down in a soft voice, while gently rubbing the back of Reza's hand. “Let the doctor check Brother first, after that we can talk again later.”

“Five minutes! Please talk, now.” Gentle yet firm, Rendra's doctor gave the patient five minutes to talk and convey his wishes.

Doctor Rendra calls one of the nurses to come closer, and asks him to provide a file on Reza's medical history.

“I want to hear your answer now, before the doctor starts checking me.” Reza sighed before continuing to speak. “Galuh Nanda, marry me. I want to spend the rest of my time with you.”

Galuh could not cover his surprise, until he was at a loss for words. The man really did not want to lose the moment despite being lying on top of the hospital gurney. For the third time Reza proposed to him again.

All eyes were now staring at him, as if waiting for his answer. Galuh was silent for a while, he closed his eyes for a moment before finally his head nodded his ass.

“What it means ..” Reza tried to straighten his neck, but Galuh prevented it and told the man to lie still.

“I'm willing to marry you, Bang. Brother should stay healthy, for my sake.”

A happy smile emanated on Reza's face. He grabbed Galuh's shoulder and encapsulated her in his arms. “I'll stay healthy for you, yank.”

Galuh smiled nodding, slowly he let go of Reza's embrace. He felt the same relief as the man. As if gaining new strength, Reza's pale face slowly turned red.

After getting treatment and taking medication, Reza fell asleep. Galuh took the time to see Rendra's doctor and ask what exactly the pain Reza experienced so that the man often experienced nosebleeds.

Initially, the doctor Rendra who had promised Reza to keep meetings about the disease he suffered to everyone, did not want to tell Galuh. But the woman kept urging him and begging him.

“Didn't the Doctor have seen it for himself, he proposed to me for the third time, and I've confirmed his proposal. I am ready and we will get married soon. Does the Doctor still consider Me someone else who is not entitled to know what exactly the disease suffered by my future husband?”

“You better ask Reza directly. Sorry, I promised not to tell anyone about his illness.”

“I couldn't ask Brother, while Brother always said the same thing every time it happened. He is just overachieved and will recover after resting.”

“Every thought, especially after we had a disagreement, Brother always had a nosebleed. Believe, Doctor. Whatever pain she has, I will still marry her.”

“Leukemia,” says doctor Rendra in the end. “It's been almost two years, and Reza refused chemotherapy. He said he didn't want to die young.” Doctor Rendra laughed bitterly, “But the past two months, his body condition began to decline.”

“Yes Lord!” unconsciously, Galuh closed his mouth. “What a severe pain, Doctor. Can you recover?” galuh asked with eyes starting to turn red, as hard as he tried to hold back his tears that revolted wanted to come out.

“Some times I saw her nosebleed. I'm afraid, I don't want anything bad to happen to the person I love.” Galuh again.

“Nothing is impossible in this world. Many patients have experienced the same thing as Reza, and they recover quickly. Through proper handling, also routine treatment, Reza can definitely recover faster.”

“We're getting married, that's Brother's biggest wish.” Galuh looked at Doctor Rendra, “Now I understand, why do you often say that sentence.”

I want to spend the rest of my time with you, I don't want to lose a moment of life with you alone. Galuh remembered Reza's words to him at that time.

Doctor Rendra sighed, staring back at Galuh. He knew this was not easy for Galuh after knowing the truth about Reza's illness.

“Do you regret and change your mind, and refuse to marry her after knowing the true reality about Reza's illness?” ask Dr. Rendra.

Galuh smiled slightly and shook his head while rubbing the corner of his watery eyes.

“I will keep marrying her, I want to see Brother keep smiling happily. As the doctor said, nothing is impossible. If My presence nearby can make Brother smile happily, I will still marry him.” Galuh Replied.

“You definitely know the worst risk you will face later, are you ready?” ask Dr. Rendra again.

I'm ready, even if it's the worst chance I'll lose him forever.

“Again everyone will also go and return to the creator, just a matter of time. Who first faces Him. And I'll take advantage of the rest of the time we have to keep together.”

Doctor Rendra smiled at all Galuh's words, “It's fair that Reza loves you so much, she knows that she is selfish. It makes you feel stuck with the marriage she wants. But it is a dream of her, being able to live together with the woman she loves.”

That night Galuh accompanied Reza and chose to spend the night in the hospital, while Luna had to go home and promised to come again tomorrow. Galuh tried to remain calm and reasonable in front of Reza, displaying a happy smile as they were about to get married.

Throughout the night Galuh continued to be beside Reza, until he fell asleep with one hand holding his head while the other hand held Reza's fingers.

In the middle of the night, Reza woke up feeling his hands cramped. He smiled to find his hand in Galuh's hand. Slowly Reza took it off, then rubbed the head of Galuh darling.

“I'm sorry, for not being able to let you go away from me. I love you and want you to be mine.”

“I beg God to unite us in the sacred bond of marriage. I'll try to stay healthy, for you. To be able to live long with you. In order to continue to be beside you, to accompany you, to make you happy forever. I Love You my future wife.”
