Madaharsa

Madaharsa
Chapters 2. Madaharsas.

Once I set foot inside the multipurpose building that is now transformed into a fun party room, I was like going back in time. Familiar faces are still very familiar to me even though dozens of years have passed. They were my classmates who were busy gathering and talking.

We walked slowly and joined in. Those faces looked enthusiastic when welcoming me and Arunika.

"The shine!" sapa Aresta, the man I used to know was thin-skinned. He is now transformed into an authoritative burly man.

"Oh, my God, Binar, Arunika!" There was also Rissa, the woman who since she was in school had unparalleled beauty. Her appearance tonight looks very graceful and expensive.

Some friends I can't call one by one also say hello. We hugged each other and asked each other.

"What are your activities now, Bi? You didn't bring a husband?" ask Wanda, the hijab woman who is now five months pregnant.

I shook my head slowly. "I am still single" I replied smiling, without giving another answer. Wanda has long been known to be very curious about the lives of others. In the past he was even often reprimanded by upperclassmen for talking about them often. However, behind its nature, Wanda is a good friend and wants to be invited.

Wanda grimacing. He seems to understand that I don't want to discuss my personal life any further.

We also continue other conversations with more general discussions, such as memories of school, from embarrassing, funny, even to romantic.

"Hey, don't remind me of that!" shouted Kelvin, the former class leader who now works as a co-pilot. His face was slightly flushed when we discussed how Kelvin was pursuing Cindy, another classmate. They became under the rain, when Kelvin declared his love on the ball field with muddy soil conditions.

We laughed out loud again, not paying attention to Kelvin's protest.

"Hey, remember no, we also have one phenomenal partner!" kelvin suddenly. His eyes suddenly glanced at me who immediately stopped laughing.

The direction of view of my friends also automatically follows Kelvin, including Arunika. They smile seductively.

"Why look at me?" I pretend I don't understand, but I know exactly what they mean.

The smiles of some of them grew wider.

"Oh, you can't possibly be that easy to forget about her, right?" ask Kelvin. The man then turned his eyes to the classmates. "You remember, right? Remember, right?" said excited.

My friends who were there nodded their heads.

"Of course remember! Especially in the iconic scene when Binar was tying his shoes under the rain and Mada came to help him!" replied Vanya, one of my friends who was suddenly very excited.

How not, because he was the one who often gave up his chair to be occupied by the man.

Hearing this, my face turned red instantly. Pieces of past memories filled my mind.

Yes, the biggest reason why I was so excited to be present in this place was none other than to see the figure of someone I missed. Someone who once filled the emptiness of my heart. With him, I went through this High School period with great joy.

"There's more, there's more! When we're on the basketball court and waiting for practice! Earphones, earphones!" As soon as Vanya said her last words, even a teasing cheer full of reflexes sounded.

Of course I still remember that clearly. About him suddenly pinning one of the earphones into my ear while sitting on the stands alone. We both listened to some romantic songs while waiting for our turn to be called.

"Hey, why am I the target now!" seruku protest. Kelvin laughed happily. Obviously he was deliberately talking about me so we could forget about him.

Just now I was about to open my voice to reply to Kelvin, suddenly the man who had been talking about appeared.

"Bro Mada!" Kelvin stood up from his chair to welcome Madaharsa.

Yeah, that guy was my ex-boyfriend from High School, Madaharsa. Its unique name certainly makes me not easily forget.

Mada who just came immediately returned Kelvin's embrace. He greeted everyone there, including me.

I returned his friendly greeting. In my eyes, Mada still looks the same even though her facial line is now getting older. The style of dress is the same, relaxed but neat. All I remember is, Mada doesn't like to dress formally. That is why his appearance is currently considered the most relaxed among the alumni who come.

Nevertheless, the soothing and authoritative aura Mada has never disappeared.

"We were just talking about you and Binar, Mada," Vanya said, inviting Mada to sit right next to me.

I was surprised, but tried to look ordinary.

Hearing Vanya's words, Mada smiled. "What about?" tanyakanya.

"Many!" answer Kelvin origin. I know, Kelvin just wanted to see Mada's reaction when he heard that.

Mada was silent for a moment, then turned to look at me. "Sorry, I arrived late, so can't help you return their taunts," the man said in a soft tone.

My heart rumbled to hear his voice. The voice I used to miss every night, and wish the morning had come quickly just to hear it back.

"It's a shame." That's the only word I can say in return. Mada smiled and turned his eyes back to the others.

Luckily, thanks to his arrival, our discussion evaporated instantly. They talk about other things like work.

I was not at all surprised when Mada told me about his achievements as a professional photographer, because that was one of Mada's dreams since long ago. Now that dream he can achieve.

Armed with effort and hard work, Mada is now building a photo studio with a medium scale. He even offered us a rebate if he wanted to use his services.

As soon as they heard the word discount, the women felt enthusiastic. "I happen to want to do a family photo later!" said Sulis, who had been quiet since more because he was busy fiddling with his phone.

Mada immediately gave his card to Sulis and also his friends there, including me.

"Call me if you need it" Mada said.

I smiled and nodded. I looked at the business card closely, before I finally stored it well in my small bag.

A moment later, the sound of an announcement was heard from the stage. Jeni and Okantara were lined up as hosts. They were both former chairmen and vice-chairmen of the former OSIS.

They were both heard apologizing, due to the delay of the event that was supposed to start twenty minutes ago.

"Without lingering again, we started the reunion event of SMA Pelita Nusantara, this 15th generation!" shouted the head of OSIS who was immediately greeted with a standing ovation.

We were all very excited to attend the event, including myself. However, not on the course of the event alone, but Mada.
