The man with a tall body was driving his car down the dark streets. The highway is not normal now.
Then passing the vehicle after work that is crowded makes it have to be repeatedly focused and vigilant if you just know there are other vehicles that overtake his car.
Just reaching the gate of his housing, Rafael was finally able to exhale calmly. He passed through one by one housing blocks lined with houses that each plot is large enough with an elegant design.
Eventually he reached block number ten, where his house was located. The iron gate slowly opened the closer Rafael's car headed, then there appeared an ivory-white walled house decorated with gray ornaments there.
It does not look so luxurious, but gives the impression of comfort coupled with the presence of vines and pots of ornamental plants that provide beauty.
Then Rafael parked his car in the basement.
He then stepped foot to the door of his house.
As usual, his mother was waiting for him in the living room while watching television after preparing a perfectly served dinner menu at their dining table.
Rafael first enters the room. Then he soaked to refresh his body as well as his mind that was all day chaotic.
He deliberately soaked long in the bathtub because he felt that his mother would talk about marriage or the search for the future wife again.
It was not that Rafael felt defeated, but he only wanted to rest for a moment before returning to prepare for battle.
The man soaked until the tips of his fingers were wrinkled. Finally, Rafael decided to go out because he did not want to let his mother wait too long.
Arriving at the dinner table, his mother looked at him with a difficult-to-understand gaze. "It seems like your day ended well."
Rafael looked at his mother. He remembered how he had found the woman he had been looking for at the end of the day. He smiled a little.
"Son, actually Aeleasha— your ex-wife is a very nice woman. You know you like her a lot and love her like your own daughter."
In the midst of the twang of the spoon that collides with the plate, and the rice and side dishes that are increasingly consumed by the owner, one or two sentences are said in tandem with a name that makes Rafael's heart beat again.
"Originally you know. After her departure from our home, Mama always felt lonely and missed the figure of a daughter-in-law, as well as a daughter," continued the woman with a view leading to one point, namely her son who was still silent, silent, as if reluctant to answer.
"Two years ago, Mama was eager to keep him from leaving. However, it could not be selfish to hold him here. His life is his. He has his own life and his own choices and we have our own life."
The middle-aged woman continued with a gaze that was now still fixed straight towards Rafael.
"You're a good man. You've always treated her well, but why can't Aeleasha stay here?"
It was a question Rafael always asked.
"It's obvious that from the beginning, Aeleasha's heart had chosen her owner."
Rafael does not understand. Why does the scenario have to be like that?
"Because Mama has never forced you to forget, but that doesn't mean you can't." The woman now looked at her son gently.
"Mama will be sad if you see you always fall like this. Even though I can't force you, I can at least remind you to try."
Rafael remained silent, not knowing how to respond.
Noticing the atmosphere becoming awkward, Tiana resumed her mouthful. Deliberately banging the spoon onto the plate until it sounds loud. Until then he remembered something.
Tiana looked at Rafael with a faint look, making the man sigh violently.
"Ma, please don't remind me of that bad incident. Especially to repeat the incident again." Rafael whines with a face full of pleading.
Tiana smiled slightly. "However, there's something else you heard."
"What?" Rafael squinted his eyes as he felt very curious.
"Gossip in your household, it turns out to be a public secret, huh?" Tiana's heart turned serious again.
"G ... Mama should not be listened to. That's just their assumption. There must be a lot of weird assumptions." Rafael said that he was too tired to hear the discussion about it from Rudy's mouth.
"Rafael, Mama really doesn't understand how you think. That's obviously a serious matter concerning your good name. Ah, not only is your good name here, but the rumor carries the names Arsen and Aeleasha, too, right?" Tiana let out her breath while frowning.
"That's why, Mama plans to introduce you to the girls of friends. You should really try it, Rafael." The woman continued with a worried face.
"That's really not necessary, Ma. Mama doesn't have to worry. I'll go out on my own and bring the future wife to you."
Rafael refused emphatically. The matchmaking? Obviously it's something that will be very troublesome because it's not just about him and a woman anymore, but it's also about connecting two families that will become more complicated later on.
"Did you really mean it? It's good that you take your mother's words seriously."
Rafael nodded for sure. Although I don't know how it will end.
After that long debate, Rafael chose to enter his room. He put both hands on his desk. Closing your eyes for a moment.
He was thinking whether he would be able to face his mother tomorrow. Fear of something that precedes his steps can occur, especially he is not confident enough that the preparation of his plan is really mature.
Rafael suddenly remembered the woman he had just met at the Mall. For a moment he was so happy and relieved to suddenly find a woman who at least met his criteria and supplies working with him.
However, he again wondered if the woman would be willing if he knew Rafael was planning to make her his contract wife later.
In the silence of the room when Rafael thought calmly, suddenly a notification sound from his phone.
Rafael immediately picked up the phone that was on top of his nightstand. When he opened it, there were many notifications there. However, there was one that made him frown.
21 missed calls
The number is unknown.
Rafael finally let and delete all the notifications then check his email because there must be one or two business matters there.
Some time struggling with his work, he suddenly remembered the woman who had given his business card.
The missed call was probably from him.
Rafael rushed to see the call history and called back. One call, then two missed calls. The man was a little upset. Is it possible that the woman took revenge?
To be continued...
