Regret Room

Regret Room
A Confession

Greeting reply was not finished yet Seruni said when suddenly his tongue was a mute along with his gaze and Bima who collided with each other. Seruni glued to look at Bima who was still standing in the doorway. Slowly, Seruni closed her eyes and took a heavy breath. Really, he was annoyed half-dead to Bima who still haunts every step. It was in Jakarta, the man was also there, now he was back in the village, the man was there too. If only he did not remember the sacredness of his mother's tahlilan event, Seruni might have spoken harsh words to him. However, for the sake of the sacredness of the event, finally Seruni just flat-faced.

"Waalaikumsalam, come in."

"Thank you, Seruni. What can I help you with?" tanya Bima tried to speak stale while from the direction of the kitchen was almost shouting girls as well as some neighboring mothers of Seruni who helped cook for the event later that night, they stared in awe and full of search to Seruni and Bima who seemed to have a special relationship.

"The men over there are putting up tents, maybe you can help them you don't mind."

Bima smiled hearing that. He immediately moved, starting to mingle with the young men as well as the middle-aged men ahead.

"This is Bima's son? The son of juragan Tono?" asked an old man with a look of admiration to see Bima who was getting more dashing and had become a state servant in Jakarta. Bima nodded her head with a fleeting smile. The men must have been surprised to see the son of the most wealthy man in the village would mingle with those who are only among the bottom.

After finishing, Bima returned again inside, he began to take the initiative to help Seruni unfurl the carpet. Seruni seemed not to pierce his presence while Bima was still often caught glancing at the woman.

"Run, you and son of the charlatan Tono are dating?" ask a mother when Seruni to the kitchen.

"No, Ma." Seruni replied briefly.

"But he often glances at you, Run. Looks like she likes you."

"Egling doesn't mean liking, ma'am."

Then Seruni came back to the front when he heard the entourage of mak Ute coming. The people welcomed their arrival. Some of Mak Ute's workers also went along wearing polite clothes and scarves.

"Run, who is that? It's so handsome." One of his workers mak Ute exclaimed to point at Bima who was talking to the men in front.

So when Bima was sitting on the terrace, mak Ute went there. He saw Bima was leaning his body firmly in the plastic chair.

"May I sit here?" mak Ute asked Bima who was surprised, but then the man nodded.

"Whose mother?" bima asked after mak Ute sat right in front of him.

"I Mak Ute, Seruni used to work for me. He became a drink-drinker for guests who came to my dimly lit stall. You must be wondering why I'm suddenly approaching you."

Bima nodded. Mak Ute smiled slightly and then pointed at the watch that Bima was wearing.

"Then, when Seruni was still working with me, the watch always accompanied his steps anywhere. But, I see him cry more and more every time he stares at the watch you're wearing. I don't know what happened between the two of you in the past, but I'm just asking you, never hurt Seruni. He's had too many trials in his life."

Bima was silent. Mak Ute's words hit his own defensive wall. He also realized, he was one of the trials that had occurred in Seruni's life, and maybe he was the biggest ordeal in Seruni's life.

"Mom, I am Seno Ari Bimantara, I was the one who took away the sanctity of Seruni ten years ago, then with a stand I left it alone behind a bamboo booth in an uninhabited house not far from the gate in front of it. Seruni to this day has not forgiven me. I am very sorry for that fatal mistake and it seems, karma is pouncing on me mercilessly, Mak. Because now I'm not just regretting what I did to him but I'm ..."

Bima stopped his sentence for a moment, he looked at mak Ute who was still patiently waiting for him to continue his speech.

"Just keep going, son."

"I'm in love with her, Mom. I'm kind of crazy about Seruni."

Said consciously before mak Ute who made Bima silent later, he seemed unable to resist the deepest honesty in his heart. He did not understand what his own lips were saying at this moment. But mak Ute just looked at him with an understanding look, he knew what happened in the past between Bima and Seruni was not a trivial thing, he said, but it concerns the honor of the woman who has closed her heart to the man.
