The Poor Don't Have the Right to Be Happy

Seruni step cheerfully treading the school corridor after completing the payment of SPP which had been delinquent three months. He just finished taking the exam. The test was passed by Seruni without difficulty even though he was not as smart as other students, he could still do all the problems well.

Seruni's carefree steps came to a halt when he saw several people clustered on the edge of the football field. There was a match between classes after the exam. Seruni went there for a while, sitting quietly on the steps.

"Run, said the guy you're working at the shop opposite the village?"

Seruni turned his head, saw Laras who he knew was Bima's sister, standing with two other friends, scoping in front of his chest, looking at him lightly. Rumors that Seruni liked his brother Laras have been heard everywhere. Perhaps it was also what finally made Laras approach Seruni now with words of contempt.

"Yes." Yeah." Seruni answered briefly and then shifted his gaze again to the front, staring at the person who was playing ball with an uncomfortable feeling.

"Well, so prostitution*r is also like the women there?" asked Laras mockingly.

Seruni looked again. "I hardly expected, the words of sehina came out from the best student in this school. Maybe your brain is watered down and smart, but your heart I think needs to go to school, too."

Then Seruni moved, grabbing the backpack with Laras and his two agape friends. Seruni had been quiet students, not much to say, so they must be surprised to see the changes Seruni so drastic and sudden.

"God! If not working as a prostitute*r then as what?!"

Seruni halted his steps, then approached and whispered to Laras. "The story of prostitution*r!" seruni toilet with a dangerous glint in her eyes. Seeing Laras, Seruni seemed to be looking at Bima who was indeed the sister of the girl.

"Look, don't ever dream of being close to my brother! I heard from people that you like my brother! Glassy, Seruni! You're poor, you're nothing compared to our family, your family's dying, divorced plus you're also now working in that disgusting place! So self-conscious! Don't ever think you can get my brother's attention let alone dream of touching him!"

Seruni clenched her hands. He held back his wrath at hearing Laras accuse him of being so cruel. He would not cry in front of the proud girl, the younger brother of the man who had ruined his life.

"You hear me, if there's your brother here, I'll stab him right in front of your eyes!"

"You!" Laras raised his hand, intending to slap Seruni but Seruni swiftly held him back.

"I'm poor, but who do you have the right to insult me like that?" asked Seruni sharply and then threw out Laras' hand strongly.

Seruni continued to step back, they were already

the spectacle of many. Seruni felt like he wanted to graduate school soon, he no longer wanted to live in the village. The gossip of the left and right people sometimes he did not ignore but once in a while can make a sullen as well.

If only you knew, it was your brother who ruined my life!

Seruni carried her anger all the way outside the school area. He walked gontai, occasionally stopping to climb the red ground just to sit for a while. Seruni has been determined to go to Jakarta as soon as she goes to school. He hoped that he would never meet Bima again. He will complain of fate in Jakarta without caring about the story of the past that has torn

Arriving at the dimly lit shop, Seruni immediately changed clothes and began cleaning the tables, sweeping the floor as well as other work.

"Roon!"

Seruni turned her head, seeing mak Ute calling her.

"Eat here! Going home from school instead of eating straight to work!" ruk mak Ute's.

Seruni immediately approached, then washed his hands and ate with the night butterflies and mak Ute. They were grilling chicken and fish in the back.

"What is this, Mom?" ask Seruni while drawing rice.

"There is no event, deliberately want to eat together here. "

Seruni nodded and then started eating voraciously.

"Your face is tangled, there's a problem at school?" ask mak Ute while chocolate roasted chicken with sambal.

"Nothing, Mommy."

"Huh, let's just say, I used to have kids too. You know if there is another problem outside, his face is like you gini," said mak Ute.

Seruni took a deep breath. "Sir, do poor people like me not deserve to be happy?" ask Seruni slowly.

"Ah, who said?! Want a mouse to shrink is entitled to be happy as long as he is alive and this earth massage!" answer mak Ute firmly.

Seruni smiled, she agreed with what mak Ute had just said.

"Sir, I graduated. I'm going to Jakarta."

"Seriously you're bah! Come on, I'll call my friend over there."

Seruni smiled again, she nodded and continued eating until she finished. Seruni did not want to continue in the village because every time he went to school or anywhere, surely he would pass through an uninhabited house with a bamboo room. Seruni wanted to bury in those painful memories and leave them there forever.
