EOTL eps 65: Hard Head
When Sera opened her eyes, Xavier was no longer there.
Sera let out a long sigh, she sat on the bed, wrapped the blanket over her body and stared around the room feeling empty.
The bedroom is quite spacious, with a feminine arrangement dominated by cream color combined with white with not leaving the shades of wood chocolate that has become the hallmark of this house. Every room in this house seems to be decorated with wide windows that almost fill one side of the wall with one-way glass where the inside can see outside, but the ones outside couldn't peek inside. Today, the window curtain of his room has opened, showing the view of a large fountain in the garden next to the house that looks so refreshing, contrasting with today's brightly lit weather.
The servants may have entered this morning to open the room curtains and put fresh fragrant flowers on the room table that spread a pleasant delicate fragrant aroma throughout the room.
The sun was already high above the sky and Sera immediately glanced at the large wall clock of carved antique wood material on the wall opposite the bed. It was already ten in the morning, deservedly the sun had shone firmly, piercing through the glass of his room and creating a bright tendril filled with the radiance of the light spectrum.
Didn't the man yesterday say that today he would drive him to visit his father in the hospital? Why did Xavier leave? Did Sera's pregnancy make Xavier change his mind? What should Sera do? Should he contact Xavier to ask?

Sera knew that she could not be riveted in the void that emptied her soul. Xavier is gone. The man did exactly as he said. They have agreed to part ways in each other, until the deal is terminated.
Doesn't it make a difference now or later? After all, their path is destined to end in a different branch, right?
Sera lowered her head, her hands then moved to rub her stomach and a gentle smile was instantly etched on her lips.
Even today, with all the test results and the USG, Sera still has a hard time believing that she is pregnant. His stomach had not yet grown any bigger, as if it was still hiding well the small seed that was growing inside. While the condition of his own body, besides being tired and sleepy, Sera felt nothing. She does not experience vomiting or nausea as experienced by most pregnant women.

Nausea and vomiting in early pregnancy is caused by the high hormone HCG produced by the process of formation of the placenta which plays a role in the distribution of food nutrients and oxygen from the mother to her baby. When the formation of the placenta is complete and finished, then the level of HCG hormone in the body also decreases.
For this reason, nausea and vomiting due to high levels of the hormone HCG in the body, usually peaking at the beginning of pregnancy in the first trimester of pregnancy, then disappear after passing the first trimester of pregnancy where the baby's placental tract has grown perfectly.
Sera's pregnancy had not been detected before because the HCG hormone in her blood had not met the minimum threshold to be declared pregnant. But, two weeks later after the examination, the level of HCG hormone in his blood was already increased to exceed the minimum threshold. Most likely, in the next few weeks, the level of the hormone HCG in his blood will increase and then nausea and vomiting occur.
Sera rubbed her face, praying in her heart that the bouts of nausea and vomiting should not come during her pregnancy. Or, if indeed the condition afflicts him, nausea vomit is not too severe.
Sera wants her child to grow in her stomach without interruption until it is time to be born later.

He would bathe, clean himself and then feed this child to get enough nutrients for his growth. As long as he does not experience nausea and vomiting, he will use the time lag to provide as much nutrition for his child.

Xavier placed the data chip in his hand onto the large table where Akram was sitting behind him. His expression was serious, not keeping the slightest joke.
Earlier this morning after arriving at his own house to clean up and change clothes, Xavier decided to visit Akram at the company. Everything related to Serafina and various incidents that followed behind her, making Xavier unable to attend to work there. Now, he decided to meet Akram and start working again because the condition of his body was healthy enough to move as before.
But, before starting to work, there is something that must be resolved first, and it requires the authority of Akram to smooth it.
Acrely pinning his fingers under his chin, both his elbows rested on his large workbench while his eyes watched over the small chips given by Xavier, before then switching back to staring sharply at Xavier.
“You've started working?” Akram ignored the chip and chose to talk about something else. His eyes watched Xavier closely, as if studying his condition.
“This injury is not a problem for me. I've had worse.” Xavier smirked disdainfully as he replied.
“I heard that you succeeded. Serafina Moon is pregnant.” Akram immediately told without further ado, making Xavier's grin freeze for a moment.
“You know…. Uh! Nathan must have reported to you. The doctor is too loyal to you to be your spy, isn't he?” sahut Xavier with a cynical tone.
Akram thinned his lips, shook his head slightly. “He did it for your good,” he said in a cold tone. “Forget that. What about your plan? With your baby, then there will automatically be baby placenta stem cells that you need, right? You really have no intention of using it for your recovery?”
Xavier's eyes dimmed, looking dark until finally the man shook his head.“That's not my top priority. My priority right now is to keep Sera safe and keep her from all distractions,”. “That's why I asked for your help to keep this person away from your company.”
Hearing Xavier's words, then Akram was interested in the small chip offered by Xavier to him on his table. He dropped the chip and attached it to a chip reader on his desk.
The digital display immediately appeared, revealing information data on a female employee who became General Manager at one of the best hotels owned by Akram in this city.
“Liliana.” Akram tilted his head, looking at Xavier fixedly full of curiosity. “He is one of the employees who is dedicated, persistent and holds great potential which is quite good for the progress of the company, which is why he can occupy an important position at a young age. What mistake did he make until you tried to get rid of him?”
Xavier gnashed his molars. “He offered himself to me openly in public, in front of Serafina. He even insulted and demeaned Sera, when clearly he knew that Sera came with me as a guest.” Xavier looked at Akram sharply. “One of the main core to the success of the hospitality business, is the acceptance and service to guests who are able to provide satisfaction to paying consumers. How can you risk the success of your hotel in the hands of a cheap woman who offers herself flirtatiously in front of guests, even when she knows that the guest is taking his wife with him? I'm afraid she'll destroy your hotel's reputation and turn it into a low-end hotel used by bitches and bitches to attract unscrupulous customers to her target.”
Akram chuckles. “I'm sure it's not a moral reason that you're considering. Even with the reasons for my progress and the future of my hotel, I know for a fact that you don't care about that. Akram thinned his lips, trying to rule himself in front of Xavier.
“Good. I will consider... to get rid of him,” he replied later.
Xavier still looked unsatisfied, his eyes watching over Akram with a probing look.
“Make sure he gets dumped away from here, move him to your worst branch, or anywhere he doesn't like. If he doesn't accept it, he'll be forced to resign from the company. And make sure also Liliana knows that she was removed from this company on my recommendation.” Xavier's eyes narrowed threateningly as he continued his sentence later. “I'll keep an eye on him. If I think Liliana does not get the right punishment for her actions, then I myself will intervene to give the punishment for her.
Xavier's way was certainly too terrifying to imagine, Akram knew that. That's why he opened his mouth to warn Xavier not to have to intervene directly in matters related to his company employees.
But, before Akram could open his mouth and say a word, the door of his study suddenly opened, and the two beloved creatures that appeared there, instantly made his attention completely distracted.
Elana was there, looking cheerful while carrying Zac in her sling.
“Akram, I brought you lunch.” Elana's eyes turned towards Xavier and her smile widened when she noticed the man's presence. “Xavier! Are you healthy? I brought enough food. Let's have lunch together.”

“Thank you for lunch. You look very healthy, it looks like this second pregnancy is different from your first pregnancy, eh?” Xavier smiled broadly as he slipped his finger into Zac's hand which was immediately gripped firmly by the baby.
They had finished their lunch and were sitting casually on the large sofa that was in Akram's study. Zac himself looked cheerful, sitting comfortably on Xavier's lap while muttering funny babbles happily. No matter how many times Elana apologized to Xavier because her condition did not allow her to visit Xavier when hospitalized, and many times Xavier replied that it was not a problem for her.
“You are pregnant. You should avoid being in the hospital. I understand.” Xavier smiled gently and let Zac play around with his fingers. “I'm happy to think that you were pregnant together with Sera,” she continued later in a floating tone as if daydreaming.
“Serafina is pregnant?” Elana's eyes sparkled as she listened to the information from Xavier's own mouth. “Wow! Why don't I know that news? Didn't the test a few weeks ago result negative?”
“We only found out yesterday. Doctor Nathan took the initiative to do a re-blood test and finally the results showed positive results,” said Xavier was happy.
Elana's eyes glazed over as she stared at Xavier, she was like an open book, unable to hide her emotions of happiness.
“Happy Xavier! You. gosh.. Serafina's finally pregnant, I still can't believe hearing that. But he's healthy, isn't he? What about the nausea? Did he experience it?”
“No,” Xavier shook his head gently. “Sera is fine. Although most likely, she will be pregnant with twins.” Xavier himself seemed to be unable to hide the pride that was tucked away clearly in his sentence and it made Elana chuckle happily.
“Twin children? Ah, you must be really happy, right?” guess cheerfully towards Xavier.
Xavier nodded his head. “It feels like an impossibility that became real to me,” he replied then in an honest tone.
Elana exchanged glances with Akram who was sitting next to her. He knew Akram was thinking the same thing. This pregnancy made Xavier seem sparkling with pleasure, the man might try to hide it with all his might, but still the light in his eyes could not hide the turbulent happiness in his soul.
“I'm so glad to hear it, Xavier. May I call Serafina? I think two pregnant women can spend time together with great fun,” exclaimed Sera with a vibrant tone.
‘"I think Sera would be very happy if you did. He doesn't have many friends and I'm worried that he'll be lonely in his house alone. If you don't mind, I'd be very helpful if you're willing to take the time to visit Sera a few times at her house.”
“At his house?” Elana was flabbergasted, her forehead was furrowed and her eyes were instantly fixed towards Akram. After which, Elana turned her head back towards Xavier in a daze. “Sera... not staying with you?”
“Xavier put Sera in one of my villas he bought. Villas that used to be occupied by Nolan.” Akram who had been silent since then and chose to just look at the conversation between Xavier and Elana, finally chose to answer.
His words made Elana even more stunned. “You decided to put Sera to stay apart with you? Y-you do realize that Sera is pregnant young, right? He needs you by his side! How could you leave Sera in that mansion alone? We pregnant women need the closest people to support us throughout the pregnancy. Either when we were nauseous and vomiting during young pregnancy, or when our stomachs got so big and we even had trouble just urinating into the bathroom. Have you thought about it, Xavier?” Elana flocked Xavier with protest because she was not inexhaustible at Xavier's decision.
“I've thought of everything.” Xavier replied in a flat and cold tone. “That's why I put a complete bodyguard, also the servants, drivers, chefs and even nurses with medical certificates to accompany Sera in the house. He'll be fine.”
“Xavier Elana. Dissatisfaction filled his heart until he almost had trouble saying. “It's not all that a pregnant woman needs. Sera definitely needs a support, not just physically but mentally as well. “I'm tired.” Xavier touched his head slightly, showing a body stance that stated clearly that he did not want to listen to any advice from Elana. Xavier gently thrust Zac back into Elana's lap. The boy whined and flailed towards Xavier as if asking to be carried back. But Xavier did not do it. The man only chuckled softly, rubbing Zac's hair affectionately before then getting up and away from the sofa area.“I think I should go back to my own room and rest.” Xavier's eyes stared at Elana and the man commented an apologetic smile. “Thank you for lunch, Elana. Very tasty,” later.
Xavier then nodded towards Akram who was sitting quietly watching, after which he stepped out of the room without a word.

When the door closed in front of them, Elana turned to Akram. Unable to hold back, she immediately used her tiny fingers to shake Akram's arm slowly.
“Xavier can't possibly do that, right? You can't possibly support him doing that, right? How could Xavier leave Sera alone in a separate house while Sera was pregnant?” confused shouting.
Akram grabbed his wife's fingers and kissed her gently.“It was an agreement between Xavier and Sera herself. They are both adults and can decide their own path. We cannot interfere,” Akram replied, trying to calm his wife.
“But... You know for yourself how bad I was during my first pregnancy? I can't imagine Sera having to experience that alone,” Elana said worriedly.
Akram took a long breath.
“Xavier is too stubborn. It's so hard to make him change his mind.” Akram's forehead wrinkled, looking thoughtful. “Except...”.
“Except what?” The sound of Akram being stopped and hanging in the air made Elana immediately respond with curiosity.
Akram tilted his head, seeming to weigh.
“Unless we ask for help from others to try to change Xavier.”'s mind
“Other people? Who?” Elana asked again curiously.
Akram grinned. “Credence Evening. I think it would be great to get Credence involved to wake Xavier up from his stubbornness.”
