EOTL eps 66: Dinner
“I'm busy.”
Credence's voice sounded across the phone. The man showed his disinterest clearly, making the corner of Akram's lips that were calling him slightly twitch withholding patience.
“I know you're busy. But isn't Xavier your best friend? I know he has done a lot for you in the past. Isn't this now a good opportunity to return the favor to him?” Akram spoke slowly, persuading Credence's conscience to wake up.
“Reply by seducing his wife?” Credence returned with a cynical tone. “I'm so confused, actually you want me to return the favor or help you take revenge on Xavier?”
“I explained a little to you earlier, didn't I? All the situations that have occurred lately, including the stabbing incident that made him injured, have made Xavier even encouraged to welcome his death. He does not even care about his own feelings and ignores his wife who is pregnant with his child.” Akram let out a long sigh in annoyance. “Xavier needs to be made aware. I guess, someone who can resuscitate him is not a mediocre man. I know Xavier with all his arrogance and pride, he will completely ignore the man with abilities under him. But if that man were you, he would definitely not be able to close his eyes just like that. I thought you were the only man who could make him feel threatened, other than me of course. However, obviously our condition is clearly different, I already have a wife and I do not want to seduce other women even though it is in the name of the charade.”
Silence stretched slowly between them, as if Credence was using the pause to rethink all of Akram's previous words.
Akram's phone was completely unexpected, coming through midnight in the early hours of the morning when his mind had not recovered properly due to being pulled from his deep sleep. In Akram country the time may indicate one hour at noon, but in Credence place which has a time zone difference of almost twelve hours, the time zone is, it's only one o'clock at night and he may have just fallen asleep for an hour after being preoccupied by the various kinds of work that must be done.
Xavier wants to welcome his death?
Credence had known for a long time that Xavier was sick. But, all this time the man faced it with normal as if the disease was not something important. Xavier also never looked like a desperate man who wanted to die.
Why in just a short period of time, the man so lost the spirit of life and wanted to welcome his death?
“You now seem to care so much about Xavier. Have you guys really settled any misunderstandings between the two of you?” Credence asked in a probing tone, he wanted everything to be clear first before making a decision.
“We have cleared up all misunderstandings.” Akram replied with a firm tone. “My wife, Elana and I, we care about Xavier. When I proposed asking for your help, Elana even gave full support.”
“Elana supports you?” Credence's voice seemed excited, but the man seemed to have managed to control himself immediately. Credence cleared his throat, then spoke quickly. “I will look at my schedule ahead first and make sure it is possible to come to your country.”
Akram squinted. As a possessive husband, of course his sharp ears will not miss the voice of a man who is excited when he hears his female name called. Akram's tone of voice turned sharp and warned when he finally spoke later.
“Elana Night is married and I am her husband. He would definitely prefer me no matter what, because I am so much better than you in his eyes. So, never try to dream of getting it,” threatened him with a serious tone.
The silence was between the two of them. But only for a moment as it was instantly broken by Credence's laughter.
“Good. You can relax, Akram Night. Because I only hold respect and respect for your wife, that's all and nothing more. In fact, I am not interested in women who have been claimed by other men, which is why I hesitate to accept your offer of cooperation. Because after all, Serafina Moon is Xavier's wife and is pregnant with her child.” Still with a cheerful tone of voice, Credence hung up the phone conversation. “I will contact you later after I can confirm everything and also after I get enlightenment for various considerations I have to think about first.”

It had been almost a week Sera spent in her solitude in this house that Xavier had gifted her. The man gave everything Sera needed without exception, complete from the smallest things possible in so much detail that Sera did not even need to leave the house at all, whatever you need is available at home.
Doctor Nathan himself had come to visit to check his condition, the man said that he would check once every week, he said, then every one month Sera will be scheduled to visit the hospital to check the content to the appointed obstetrician. In addition to those times, Sera is welcome to relax and enjoy her irreplaceable pregnancy.
This morning Sera sat on the living room couch, again reading a book of romantic novels that she had found in the library room which was also available in this house. Her pregnancy was not at all problematic until these few days she lived. In fact, Sera can be said to always wake up with a fresh body condition and a hungry stomach at all times. Whatever is being served by his home chef, will surely be devoured until the toilet.
What was slightly disturbing was, the emotions within his mixed chest overflowing with an indescribable stifling feeling. Yes, Sera does not understand her own emotions, she feels sad, feels gloomy and feels like crying at all times. It was as if his heart was overwhelmed by an undefinable sadness, making him have to endure a cry without cause at all times.
That's why Sera decided to listen to the cheerful music she played slowly filled the entire living room. In her hands, she chooses a light novel with a funny love story between two young couples and her various cheerfulness in the early life of marriage. All of that could amuse her a little, making a glimmer of a smile linger on her lips. But when she later recalled her own strange married life and the opposite of what she had read, a sense of gloom returned to cover it.
Sera let out a long sigh, placed the book on the table beside the sofa, then herself spread her head on the arm of the sofa and closed her eyes, permeating the pain that made her eyelashes wet without being held back.
Then, just as suddenly the ringing of his phone rang out, surprising Sera and making her open her eyes again.
For almost a week in this house, no one called him, other than Doctor Nathan who diligently controlled his condition at Xavier's request. Xavier himself seemed completely determined to fulfill their agreement clause so as not to contact him at all and completely cut off communication with Sera.
Then who? Doctor Nathan called early in the morning, is it possible that he called again?
Sera fumbled towards the sofa seat beside her lying body to find her phone lying there. He finally found his phone tucked away, half-overstretched. He immediately grabbed the phone and his forehead immediately wrinkled when his eyes found who was calling.
The elana?
Sera immediately lifted her body to sit down. He pressed the receive button and stuck the phone in his ear before muttering a greeting to Elana.
“Sera!” Elana's voice sounded excited across there. “I'm sorry, I just called you again since the last time I called to congratulate you on your pregnancy. You know, Zac's been demanding attention lately. Maybe she felt that she would have a new sister, so she was trying to absorb her mother's attention as hard as she could.” Elana chuckled softly, her voice softening as she mentioned her son's name.
Sera's lips instantly decomposed with a smile. She was happy to listen to Elana's cheerful voice, as if a friend had come to melt the silent loneliness that surrounded her.
“I understand. What about your pregnancy, Elana? I hope you get through it well. I heard you vomited before..”.
“Yes, just in the beginning. Now I rarely vomit, unless I find a food that smells too sharp. Nausea vomiting in my pregnancy is not as severe as when compared to my first pregnancy.” Elana replied in a light voice before then asking, “You yourself, what about you, Sera? Doctor Nathan is still monitoring you, isn't he? The chances of multiple pregnancies are huge and multiple pregnancies include risky pregnancies, so Doctor Nathan says your pregnancy requires full attention and supervision.”
A smile of irony instantly appeared on Sera's lips. Suddenly, she felt sad to hear Elana's words. Yes, because the one who gave full attention to her regarding her pregnancy, it turned out to be the doctor and not her own husband.
“I'm fine.” Sera stroked his stomach fondly, trying to throw away those pitiful thoughts that dampened his spirit. He was determined to be strong with his son until later, will not let sadness tear him down.
“Good. Well then, can you spare some time for my dinner appointment? I'm trying a delicious new casserole recipe and I think it would be nice if we who are both pregnant women could spend time together.” Elana offered in a hopeful, delicate voice that made Sera's heart melt, unable to resist. “How's Sera, you want it? I'll send a driver to pick you up later in the afternoon at six, yeah?”
There was nothing else Sera could do but nod her head to accept the extremely friendly offer.
“Yes, Elana. I'll come.”

Credence receives a glass containing brandy given by Akram to him. The man sat leisurely on the sofa of the study at Akram's house, crossing his legs before then sipping the quality brandy with his usual elegant demeanor.
“I'm glad you finally took your time to come here and help.” Akram sits himself on the sofa opposite Credence while sipping his own brenda. His eyes stared intently at his interlocutor from behind his crystal glass. “Are you finally ready to cooperate?”
“I have studied the situation and am considering the strategy you want to take.” Credence grinned. “After receiving your call, I checked my full schedule. Surprisingly, I came across plans of visits to this country for some time regarding work. So, I thought this was fate's path so I had to come here to help.” Credence looked at Akram carefully. “But are you sure? The Xavier I knew was a heartless figure, he only regarded women as things that could be used according to his will. Why can you be sure that this one is an exception?”
Akram breathed. “You will see it for yourself and be convinced after seeing Serafina Moon in person and watching the interaction between the two,” he replied briefly. Don't bother to explain at length.
Credence grinned. “So, you also invited Xavier at this dinner?”
“Of course. You think I'll just invite you and Sera? It will be very obvious as a form of matchmaking. Serafina Moon is a smart woman, she will instantly avoid you half to death if she catches the purpose of this dinner. After all, it would be nice to surprise Xavier a little tonight.”
Credence chuckles. “I understand. I just can't imagine Xavier's reaction. I informed him of my arrival this afternoon and he welcomed this dinner with pleasure. But, Xavier obviously did not know that you also invited Serafina.”
“It wasn't me who invited Serafina, but Elana.” Akram answered casually, his expression looking satisfied. “If Xavier is about to get angry, he should be mad at Elana. But I know for a fact, he won't be mad at Elana. At most, he will vent his frustration to me and I just answer that it is my wife's will, making her not wince,” Akram replied with a sly tone.
Credence's naughtiness was heard louder when he heard Akram's reply.
“For sure Xavier will be angry. He will also be angry with me for joining this plan. But as you said, if this is for Xavier's good, then I'm willing to fire a blaze to make it happen,” concluded with a wise attitude.
Akram nodded his head. The man then looked at Credence with a probing look as if to judge him.
“I only ask for one thing, which is that you do not involve the heart in this or even grow the desire to have Serafina Moon. You must remember, the purpose of this plan is to unite Xavier and Serafina. I don't want you to turn out to be the antagonist of the relationship between two human beings who deserve to be together.”
Akram breathed back. "I believe that the hearts of both are destined to be together. You can see later," he replied in a stern tone.

“Sera!” Elana immediately came to greet at the front door when the car that picked up and delivered Sera to this house stopped in the front area of the house. Inevitably Sera's smile widened when she received the warm welcome. His feet stepped quickly over and were immediately hugged into the familiar open arms of Elana.
Their bellies touched each other, making Elana let go of her tight embrace, then chuckled softly.
“It looks like our two babies are also greeting each other inside there,” whispered Elana in a carefree tone, transmitting her laughter to Sera. “You look beautiful once tonight, Sera.”
Elana wasn't lying. Serafina Moon is getting more beautiful and charming. The woman looked fuller, probably due to her pregnancy, plus, the dark green dress used by Sera, contrasting in a positive sense with her pale skin. It was increasingly issued her beauty, making her appearance like a forest fairy that floated in the middle of the sparkling beauty of the colored fairy powder packaging.
“You are also very beautiful.” Sera responded with earnest praise. Elana is really pretty with her hair bun loosely lifted up so that it displays her nape. Her simple but elegant makeup looks so well matched with her golden white dress.
“We are both equally beautiful!” Elana embraces Sera's shoulder with a laugh, then sighs Sera's body to turn to enter the house with her.
However, because they were busy praising each other, Elana did not see a figure that was already standing behind her. Her face smashed against her husband's hard chest, making her embrace on Sera's body slip and her body stagger about to fall.
Instantly, Akram catches his wife's body and keeps her in the arms of his strong arms to be safe and not fall.
“Be careful, pregnant women.” Akram spoke with a voice full of love. “Do not move carelessly. Did you forget that in your stomach was my daughter?” he added then in a seductive tone.
Elana laughs in response to Akram's temptation, but she can't cover her reddened cheeks. He threw a warning look at Akram so that he would stop teasing her. The woman then released herself from her husband's arms and moved towards Sera, embracing her again.
“Let's go into the dining room,” invites Elana in a hurried tone as if impatiently leaving her husband behind.
There was still the sound of Akram's righteousness behind them that was echoed by the glances of Elana's piety. It made Sera want to not smile widely. He was happy to see the affection of these two nearby couples, as if the two of them had become medicine for his heart that was injured due to Xavier's treatment of him.
Sera's wide smile was still imprinted on her lips, making her face look beautiful full of series. However, when his eyes caught the figure waiting inside the dining room and was sitting on one of the dining chairs there, his smile immediately froze and faded before disappearing instantly.
There were two men there, but Sera's gaze was fixed on one man only. As usual, he could not take his eyes off the figure of Xavier who was staring back at him with eyeballs covered in shock. The man looked as charming as ever, but seeing his reaction when he saw the presence of Sera in this dining room, it was obvious that the man did not expect that Sera was also invited to this dinner.
Just like Xavier, Sera was also not told that Xavier would be here….
Sera's head turned his head, himself staring at Elana next to him curiously. However, Elana even returned her questioning eyes with a face full of sinless smiles.
“Let's sit down,” Elana pulls Sera who can't resist entering the dining room, forcing Xavier to stand up from her seat across the street and greet his wife for courtesy.
Sera's heart throbbed at the sight of Xavier's expression which implied dislike when met unannounced with Sera. It made Sera feel unwanted, making her think back to her heart that was hurt by being a banished wife. However, Sera quickly suppressed her low sense of self and instantly raised her chin in a haughty manner full of pride.
He underwent this cooperation with Xavier out of his own volition. She chose to get pregnant because of her own will. Whatever decision he made, it was all his responsibility that he would fulfill with great pride.
Xavier's attitude will not be allowed to make him feel down or inferior. The man should know that his wife is the woman he is compatible with, not just the tool used to achieve his goals.
Unwittingly by Sera, his strong and powerful attitude when facing Xavier Light made Credence who had been sitting quietly while supporting his chin watching, immediately grinning happily.
Although her appearance looked fragile, but Sera had shown her strength without a tremble. It looks like Serafina Moon will be the perfect partner in Xavier Light's resuscitation plan.
