Chapters 20. Warmth for the Guardian God

Reda starts doing her activities again once she is done helping Ryuunosuke deliver breakfast. His heart was being enveloped in happiness at this moment. The praise he heard made him flowery.

“Yes God, thank you very much. Thank goodness Nushi-sama loved it, thank goodness everyone liked it. I will fight a little more. Father, Mother, Reda will fight a little more.”

He picked a lot of vegetables in the garden.

Reda picked it and washed the vegetables directly in the well. Then he went to the kitchen. When he entered the kitchen, the little fox hugged him.

“Ryuunosuke loves his soup and eggs! Ryuunosuke also likes to stir-fry vegetables and meat. Aragaki-sama also ate voraciously!”

“Really?” Reda could not believe hearing it

“Ryuunosuke just ate because of Aragaki-sama and all of them asked for more rice and side dishes again.”

Hearing that, Reda was really very surprised and delighted.

“Then, do I need to make another one?”

“Reda-sama want to make it again?”

Reda nodded. Hearing that, the little fox looked delighted and ran around the girl with a swaying tail. Suddenly he was silent. He looked at Reda who was peeling potatoes.

“Reda-sama hasn't had breakfast yet, right?” ask Ryuunosuke

Reda only looked at the fox with a smile. There was no reply from him. The little fox took his bowl and looked at the rest of the rice inside. There's still a little rice, a little sauteed vegetables and a little miso soup.

Ryuunosuke gave the rest of his breakfast by adding another half a barrel of rice secretly. He pulled Reda's clothes.

“What's up, Ryuunosuke?”

“Reda-sama, this is Ryuunosuke's leftovers. Eat first so Reda-sama does not hurt.”

“But, Ryuunosuke has to eat a lot. Your rice is still so much like that. What if Ryuunosuke is sick? Your health is more important than mine.”

The little fox pulled Reda's hand and asked her to sit down. Reda saw the rest of the food by swallowing his saliva. He was hungry and of course the little leftovers were a blessing to him.

Reda ate all that food. Ryuunosuke started peeling potatoes and cutting other vegetables.

Seeing his master eating with a lot of appetite, made Ryuunosuke and the other loyal servants happy.

“When was the last time Aragaki-sama ate with this feeling?”thought Nagi

“That's the case, Nushi-sama looks happy. I'm not surprised, Ryuunosuke's cooking since last night is really delicious!” Ginko also thinks the same as Nagi

Kuroto and Hakuren just looked at his master who was smiling happily. Ryuunosuke who had breakfast

first, wait for Aragaki and the others to finish breakfast with still bring freshly cooked dishes.

“Sup is good. I saw another stuffing in it.”

“That's..the newly picked Sayur Reda-sama. Ryuunosuke who washed it and directly cooked.”

“Ryuunosuke is very smart. Thank you so much for making me this delicious breakfast.”

“So, Aragaki-sama loves his cooking?” ask Ryuunosuke

“Of course. It tastes so good. I'm sure the others think so too, don't they?”

“Ryuunosuke, I love this freshly cooked meat potato stir-fry.” Hakuren said praising the little fox

The little fox just laughed. The atmosphere of the dining room was completely different from before.

In the back, Reda started drawing water and mopping the inner floor. As he passed through the dining room door, he stopped mopping and sat down. He heard laughter in the room.

“Thank God everyone loves the food I make. Thank goodness, Aragaki-sama would like to smile eating it.”

“I hope someday, I can join them to eat in there before I die later.”

Stand up slowly and try to be as calm as possible. He walked slowly and began to resume his duties.

Aragaki realized that, but she immediately ignored him. So far, he still does not want to assume the girl is in his house.

But that's not for Hakuren. He recalled the thing he had thought about last night and had a chance to glance towards the door.

After finishing mopping the inside, Reda water the plants and pay attention to the flowers in the garden.

Reda thought hard. He started looking for something in the kitchen as his container. After finding two slightly cracked bowls, he brought them to the back. By filling the water in the bowl, he placed some stones in it.

“Completed. Beautiful~”

Reda looks happy now. On the third day of staying there, he could do something to make the Guardian God feel happy.

“Mendiang father and mother used to make this at home. Ikebana's? If it's not wrong. This is in honor of the God and the beauty of the flowers. Nushi-sama who is the Protective God of the village must be happy with this.” muttered the girl with her beautiful smile

He took her to the kitchen for a while and then left her back.

After Ryuunosuke brought his plate aided by Nagi and Ginko, those who arrived in the kitchen saw the flower arrangements on the table.

The little fox looked so happy.

The other two youko were amazed by the flower decoration. After approaching a little, they clearly smelled the scent of the girl in every part of it.

“It...the village girl made it?” Nagi looked surprised

“Reda-sama who made it?!”

Ryuunosuke's tail swayed in delight. He had never seen a flower decoration like this before.

“I didn't know that Reda-sama can make ikebana decorations?” ginko said

Not long after, Reda came to bring another flower arrangement to the kitchen. How surprised he was to see someone else there.

The two youko looked at Reda who was carrying another flower decoration in her hand.

Reda looks scared. His hands were trembling and he could not hide it from the eyes of the two adult foxes. But Ginko approached him slowly.

“Reda-sama, we will not say anything that will corner you. We just want to know if this ikebana Reda-sama that makes?”

“I..I see many nice flowers in the garden. Because they look beautiful and remind me of Nushi-sama who is happy today, so I made them. This..as an offering to Nushi-sama because he is happy.”

“My parents said that ikebana can be used to show gratitude to God. Because Nushi-sama is the Protective God in my village so I made it.”

“This may not be seen by Nushi-sama since he does not like my scent. I'll just make it and put it here.”

Nagi and Ginko look at each other.

“If you don't mind, can you give this to both of us?”

Reda's expression instantly turned sad. But Nagi instantly snatched it from the girl's hands.

“Already, just give it to us. Now, go to work there!”

Reda did not argue and immediately left the kitchen.

“Nagi-sama is so evil! Ryuunosuke was not happy Reda-sama was snapped up like that!”

“Little fox listen, you have to coat and touch all the parts of this decoration. We will help you too.

We will disguise the scent of the girl's body on every part of this ikebana and give it to Aragaki-sama.”

“But, don't Nagi-sama and Ginko-sama not like Reda-sama?”

Aragaki accepted it and looked at it carefully.

The three loyal servants had a cold sweat from panic, but then they turned relieved. Aragaki stood up and placed it in tokonama (a special place to put decorations).

“It's beautiful. Thank you very much. I'm glad to receive it.”

That smile was proof that their master received it well. Ginko who saw it felt so grateful to Reda in his heart.

“Reda-sama, Nushi-sama is pleased with your decoration. Thank you very much.”

Behind all the things Aragaki received, there was the warmth of the village girl who wanted her smile.
