Chapter 39. The Opportunity to Hear His Soft Voice

Reda who was crying unwittingly by him hid behind the door of another room. He placed a bucket of water on the floor and knelt down to wipe away his tears.

“What do you think, Reda? Strengthen yourselves. Don't make that cute little fox worry again.”

Reda hit both cheeks then got back excited.

The girl brought the water-filled bucket back and stood up. With a sneak to the unknown, Reda quickly left from there. He decided to water the flowers on the other side of the garden.

“Nushi-sama must not see me or he will be angry later.”

As soon as he got to another part of the park, Reda stopped and realized something.

“I...have no chance to talk to Nushi-sama at all. Even if there is, Nushi-sama will just reject me and will probably throw me back like when we first met.”

“What can I do to talk to him for a while?”

Reda smiled blushingly hearing him. He did not expect the ruler to be willing to eat dinner when he came home later.

That smile looks so bright. There was a strange feeling in Aragaki's chest. Not a feeling of love or a feeling of love.

He only remembered that smile was the smile he gave to his little fox in the garden. A smile that made her little fox so happy as when her mother was alive.
