Chapter 26. Aragaki and All Things Done Reduced

When lunchtime arrives, Aragaki walks towards the dining room. As there was still time, he walked towards the kitchen. In the kitchen, Aragaki saw her little fox was busy preparing lunch.

“Ryuunosuke..” murmured slowly

As soon as he saw it, he was a little shocked because Ryuunosuke prepared the food by himself. Slightly inexhaustible because he did not know that preparing food up to five servings at once can look so troublesome.

“Has my little fox always been this mess? I know Nagi and the others have always ordered me to guard the Higashi no Mori region and return to this place once the meal hour arrives.”

“But, I feel like it's been two days that he's been quick to do something. Even the food also comes in still warm conditions.”

Aragaki was still unaware that since two days ago, the little fox was helped by Reda while bringing food in the kitchen to the dining room.

The ruler still did not consider the girl's presence to be meaningful. Therefore, in his mind there was not a single possibility that the girl was helping him.

Not wanting to make his little fox realize his presence, Aragaki started walking to look at the others.

Ryuunosuke who was in the kitchen seemed to be slightly aware that his master was coming, but he was too busy to greet him. In addition, Ryuunosuke also still had to prepare a quick lunch.

Aragaki passes through engawa along the kitchen. He was quite surprised because the floor that was originally dirty because the driver he had doused into the girl's head was already clean.

Until finally, as he walked towards his garden, Aragaki saw the village girl tidying up her damaged garden.

Reda who had returned to the garden after cleaning herself in the hut immediately did her job. Soil and plants damaged by incoming forest rabbits were immediately cleared.

His clean clothes were dirty again because of the soil. Reda brought all the garbage back to be processed later. By drawing and fetching water in the well, he brought it alone to water the plants in the garden.

For the first time, Aragaki sees everything the girl has done. For three days, he continued to ignore her. However, Aragaki was secretly watching him now.

“He really did it yes.”

Reda was unaware of what her master was doing right now.

“Haa, finally done. I hope the Nushi-sama plant is not damaged anymore, so Ryuunosuke does not need to be scolded. I think it's lunch time. I'll try to see that sweet fox.”

Finished returning the bucket to the well, Reda immediately went to the kitchen. Aragaki did not expect everything she heard. No ‘bride’ candidate has thought of his beloved little fox so far.

Obviously the clothes that Reda wore were yukata for women and both tengu were men. There was only one answer the little fox had thought of.

“They must be lying. Hakuren-sama and Kuroto-sama gave this to Reda-sama. Ryuunosuke sure once!”

Aragaki heard all that, but did not mean to say anything. He looked back at what the girl was doing in the kitchen.

Reda who was about to help the little fox bring the dishes was surprised by the contents of the menu.

“R–Ryuunosuke! Ke–why is this cuisine served to Nushi-sama?! Isn't the scent of my hand here? Nushi-sama will throw it again later.” Goes to panic

“Do not worry, Reda-sama. Aragaki-sama likes it~”

“Eh?”

“Nagi-sama and Ginko-sama said that Aragaki-sama likes this dish and wants to eat it as a lunch menu. Great, right!”

Reda still did not believe what she heard.

“Nushi-sama..likes it? Even though there's a scent of my hand in it? Is Ryuunosuke serious?”

“Iya~Ryuunosuke is also in disbelief, but Aragaki-sama does love it!”

A smile was seen from Reda's face. He's so happy. On his knees, he hugged the similarly happy little fox.

“Reda-sama is right, we succeeded!”

Aragaki left the kitchen. He walked towards the dining room. As he walked, he thought of the expression his little fox made upon seeing the girl.

“My little fox seems to like it so much. But, whatever he did.all of it is still not enough to make me think he is a good person.”

Aragaki stopped and made a sharp look. There was a terrifying aura from his body. Although he had seen for himself what Reda had done, it seemed that the heart of the Guardian God was still frozen.

“The man is dirty and he is not much different from other humans.”

In the kitchen, Reda rubbed the little fox's head. But he was startled by the sudden movements of the little fox.

“What Aragaki-sama has gone?”

“Araga...meaning Nushi-sama? What are you talking about, Ryuunosuke?”

Ryuunosuke immediately ran towards the kitchen door and saw no one standing there.

“Fuuu~thank goodness it's gone. We did it, Reda-sama!”

“What are you talking about, Ryuunosuke?”

Reda did not understand the meaning of the little fox's words. He did not know at all that from the beginning he had been noticed by the ruler.

“Reda-sama, Aragaki-sama was here! Ryuunosuke smelled the scent. Aragaki-sama usually always hides her scent, but this time she did not!”

“Eh?! Really it?! I didn't realize it at all, Ryuunosuke! Since when was Nushi-sama near the kitchen?!” Reda was completely pale and panicked now

“Maybe since Reda-sama came. Ryuunosuke was already very afraid that Reda-sama said that this dish was your making earlier. Thank goodness it didn't happen.”

“Did I make a mistake? How about Nushi-sama to know everything?”

“No need to worry. Reda-sama has done his best and Ryuunosuke has also done his best. Anyway, we keep on the mission to make Nushi-sama smile and accept humans!”

Reda thinks he really made a mistake.

Lunch time came and everyone was in the dining room. Aragaki did not say any comment. He looked at Hakuren and Kuroto who had been mediocre so far.

Not long after that the food came. Ryuunosuke helped Reda bring the food inside. As usual, only Ryuunosuke came in to give his lunch. Reda just waited and gave her plate to Ryuunosuke without the slightest hint of showing her face in front of Aragaki.

When the last plate given to Aragaki was finished, the ruler asked his little fox.

“Ryuunosuke, are you still mad at me?”

The little fox was silent. He wanted to be a little cold to his master because of his actions to Reda.

Aragaki seems to know that attitude.

“I'm sorry to you, Ryuunosuke. I really like that cuisine. See it? I really want to eat it again.”

“Aragaki-sama should apologize to Reda-sama, not to Ryuunosuke.”

“...!!” everyone present including Reda who was outside the room was shocked to hear it

“Ru–ru–small change! Don't talk like that just because you're a kid!” yell Nagi

“Nagi, relax!” Ginko tries to calm Nagi down

The two tengu who saw that only put on a face of shock. It seemed that the little fox was actually taking advantage of the situation.

“Aragaki-sama who should apologize to Reda-sama!”

“I don't want to apologize to dirty people. Why should I apologize to that dirty girl. I'm innocent.”

“Then Ryuunosuke will not forgive Aragaki-sama!”

It seems that the fox really showed his ‘sweet’ side to the employer by putting on a sullen face and a tail that kept swaying quickly in annoyance.

Reda who was outside really wanted to apologize to Aragaki but she was not allowed to enter. Until he finally heard another sentence from the mouth of the ruler.

“What does Ryuunosuke want from me for me to forgive you?”
