BA #48 - The Hidden Betrayal

Calista looked at the photo of Daniel and Alira in the newspaper, the man was so successful and rich that just because he had just returned from Paris had become news that was in the public interest.

"You...." Calista stabbed a photo of Alira right in the face using a fruit knife. "You mean the most to Daniel, don't you? Then you're the price Daniel has to pay for what he's done" Calista exasperated. Then he raised his left hand and looked at his missing middle finger, cut off, because of Daniel .

Calista growled furiously, his jaw tightened perfectly, his teeth fused together and he again poked a knife into Alira's photo.

" You've got to pay for everything, Daniel. Basic psycho!" Calista growled with a roaring chest.

No one would believe Calista if she told him that Daniel had cut off his middle finger, forcing Calista to confess to the media that he deliberately defamed Daniel out of envy. Though, Calista makes Daniel's reputation ruined because of his grudge on Alira who has slapped him.

However, Daniel cuts his finger on the grounds that Calista has made Alira saddened by the gossip about him as well because Calista has told Alira about the night they passed.

Calista remembered what Daniel said at the time. "Alira is my soul, my shadow, if you tease her, then you tease me."

Calista smiled obliquely recalling those words. "What a husband and wife who love each other, take care of each other, is impressive. Just see what I'm gonna do to you guys, I'm gonna make you regret dealing with me."

But Calista knew, this time he had to be careful, because now he knew, Daniel had a dark side that no one would ever think of.

Daniel harbors a madness within himself that can be quite terrifying on someone who has plagued his life.

"Welcome-home...."

Daniel hugged Alira who had just opened the curtains of his room.

"Daniel, I want to take a shower" said Alira, trying to avoid Daniel.

"Would you take a shower with me?" Bargain Daniel.

"No, I'm so tired" Alira and Daniel nodded.

Alira immediately rushed to the bathroom while Daniel took their belongings out of the suitcase and reassembled them back into the closet.

After that, he prepared a home-gown for Alira, put it on the bed before Danile finally rushed off to the office.

During the trip, Daniel continues to talk to Tessa, asking Tessa to prepare some files because Daniel will meet his business partners to solve the company's ongoing problems.

While at home, Alira heaved a heavy sigh when she saw her clothes on the bed.

"This is not what I want from you, Daniel," murmured Alira sadly. "I just want you to think of me as a wife, or at least as a human being who has feelings" he growled but continued to wear the shirt with annoyance. "And I wanted it first, it's too late now" said Alira.

Alira took her phone and she immediately contacted Ryan, before long Ryan's voice sounded from across the phone that made Alira feel happy.

"Hello, honey," Sapa Ryan even sounded whining.

"Nothing, after you left, I kind of lost my spirit" replied Daniel who made Alira smile.

"You're a master seducer, hm...."

"Yeah, I'm a master seducer, I'm not gonna dodge that fact. But just so you know, I'm not on your way, and I don't have to seduce you."

"Because I've willingly surrendered myself to you? "

" No, but because I have love for you, so seduction and such are no longer necessary."

Alira again blushed to hear Ryan's words that always make her feel happy and calm."Oh yeah, where's Daniel? Does he not suspect you're calling me like this?"

"I think he went to the office" replied Alira.

"What's? This fast? I think he should take a break after a long flight." Ryan said and he sounded worried about Daniel.

"I can't stop it, Ryan. Because Daniel loves his job the way he loves his own ego, it doesn't matter if it'll hurt anyone or himself." Alira said sarcastically.

"Yeah, I know him well" Ryan said. "Alright, Honey. I'll call Daniel first." he continued, Alira only answered him with a murmur.

After Ryan disconnected his phone, Alira looked at the photo of Ryan on her phone. "You really care about him, Ryan. But it won't mean anything if Daniel finds out about us."

While on the other hand, Daniel met his coworkers to talk about the problems that Daniel's company was experiencing. Even that problem could threaten the share price in his company, and if that happens, Daniel will make a big loss.

Amidst the serious chat, Daniel's phone kept shaking, Daniel ignored it. Then he got a message from Ryan who asked him not to be too obsessed with his work.

"Your wife?" Ask Daniel's co-worker.

"No, Ryan, my brother" Daniel replied.

"Oh, that handsome model. What's up?" Ask again.

"He asked me not to be obsessed with work, let alone that I had just landed after a few hours of flight" Daniel said.

"Well your sister, you're lucky to have her. Rarely are there brothers who still care about their other atmosphere especially if they are both mature and independent."

"Me and Ryan are looking after each other, we both have no one.

"But you're luckier, you have a very beautiful wife."

"Of course."
