GIRL IN RED
CHAPTERS 168. DON'T RUN MY WIFE

“My wife is shy, I'm afraid she will be afraid of grandma's attitude and it will make her have nightmares and wake up at night. If that happens, it will disturb my sleep as well. I hope that no other grandmother or family will ever scare my wife. If you're angry or protesting, just go straight to me because I'm her husband. Only I have the right to educate and reprimand my wife.” Emir said firmly.

Layla Serkan simply opened and closed her mouth several times as she tried to think of words to say but she failed.

Arimbi has moved on for quite a while now and although Layla does not interfere in their household affairs, but she is aware that Arimbi is a brave and thick-skinned woman.

It's almost impossible for Layla to scare him into a nightmare.

“Grandma, is there still anything else granny wants to say?” ask the Emir who feels it is enough to give an explanation to his grandmother. He did not want his wife to be bullied by his grandmother and the elders in his family.

He had promised himself and Arimbi that he would give her a quiet and peaceful life and happiness.

“You've said everything Emir! So what else can I tell you?” answer Layla.

“Good. Then I'll go. I don't want to disturb Grandma when I'm regulating my emotions. Grandma, if grandma could get Agha and the others to go on a blind date. They are not young anymore, but they still act strange and refuse to marry.”

If only Agha had heard that remark, it was likely that he would have cried and cursed the Emir, what harm would he have? Why was he even involved in that? And yet he did nothing. Yesterday while fishing he did not taste Arimbi cuisine, why does it seem like the Emir wants revenge on his sister?

Layla hurriedly said as she realized the Emir was about to leave, “Wait for the Emir! To be frank with me. Do you have any plans to publicly announce your marriage to Arimbi?”

The expression on the Emir's face turned gentle but quickly instantly turned flat.

“I still make a list of wedding gifts and after I finish it and prepare everything I will send it to the Rafaldi family. At that time I will announce my relationship with Arimbi to everyone.” the Emir said casually as if not caring.

“Do you plan to hold a wedding for her?” ask Layla again.

“Why not? I will only marry once in a lifetime, so why should I humble myself? Everyone wears a wedding dress when they get married and they also hold a fancy banquet.”

“How can my wife not get all that? I will give her a lavish wedding so that she can be the stylish daughter-in-law of our family and be known as Young Madam of Serkan Family. I want the whole world to know she's my only wife and there won't be anything else.”

The Emir vowed not only to give Arimbi everything that others have but anything that no one else has. He will make sure Arimbi will have everything more than anyone else has. Ever since she decided to spend the rest of her life with him, she had changed her mind.

He no longer planned to torture her but he would make Arimbi his priority and shower her with affection. My wife deserves to be showered with affection after marriage!

“Oh, I must immediately contact the best wedding dress designer in the city to make a wedding dress for Arimbi.” said the Emir who suddenly remembered about the wedding dress.

Layla was about to suffocate from her anger, but it seemed like she could not muster the desire within her to do so. Because of him he held his anger in his heart.

He was in a very sad state even if he married Arimbi, the villager it would benefit him greatly.

This is the Emir's choice, however, and if he rejects it then the Emir will not care about it anymore. This was the first time he had seen his grandson excitedly doing something related to his personal life.

“Grandma, can grandma tell my parents about this? If they react too badly just let them meet me to vent it on me. I will wait to face their anger. If they have something that needs to be resolved with me, that's fine too. I'm not afraid of anything, they can finish it with me at once. But-don't ever attack my wife! I won't let anyone bully my wife!”

Layla was silent at his words. Then the Emir pushed his wheelchair out of the room while holding his marriage certificate in his hand while being watched by his grandmother.

The Emir headed to the entrance and slowly walked out. Arimbi who was waiting outside, accidentally eavesdropped on the conversation between her grandmother and granddaughter.

But he couldn't help but listen to a little of their talk. She realizes that Grandma Layla dislikes her and Layla cannot accept Arimbi as her daughter-in-law's granddaughter. As soon as Arimbi heard the sound of a wheelchair approaching, he realized that the Emir was going to get out of there.

He immediately walked over and saw the Emir who was about to exit the room by himself. “Emir.” she stepped forward to help her push the wheelchair out.

At the same time Arimbi glanced into the house and noticed Layla standing still in her original position with a pale facial expression and filled with anger.

Arimbi hastily shifted his gaze and focused on pushing the Emir wheelchair out of the luxurious living room.

Prangs! From behind they heard a commotion from the objects that fell to the floor. At that moment Arimbi immediately stopped his steps.

“Don't mind her.” Emir's low voice is heard, Arimbi also pushed back her husband's wheelchair out of the main house without the reports turning her head. He was finally able to sigh in relief after leaving the main house. Although the living room looked bright and friendly but somehow Arimbi could feel the pressure while he was there.

For some reason, Granny Serkan was the only person in the room but Arimbi got the sensation of shortness of breath and it felt as if she was in a crowded area.

“Darling, does grandma want you to divorce me?” ask the curious Arimbi.

But the Emir did not answer his question but instead turned the question back to him.

“Do you want a divorce? You seem to have said divorce more than once to me.”

Quickly Arimbi explained, “No! I never thought about getting divorced. But we have a big gap in our family background and your family members don't like me. They won't accept me, so it's only natural that they hope we get divorced.”

“I'm the one who decides for myself about my personal matters. As long as you don't talk about divorce, I'll never file for divorce. Even if you ask for a divorce, I will never approve of it. You are the one who shamelessly asked me to marry you and I have given you the chance to change your mind.”

The Emir looked up at Arimbi for a while and then looked forward again, “But you wasted your chance not to be tied to this marriage. So don't blame me for being cruel and dominating you.”
