GIRL IN RED

GIRL IN RED
CHAPTERS 30. MEET LAYLA SERKAN

Arimbi was downcast thinking about the reason why the Emir had agreed to marry her, he was sure that the man would only want to torture her for as long as he wanted.

“Nona Rafaldi!” suddenly a foreign voice sounded from behind calling out his name.

Arimbi looked back and saw a slightly fat woman in her forties smiling at him.

“Mistress? did you call me?” ask Arimbi.

“Nona Rafaldi, please introduce my name Desi Juanda. Everyone here calls me Desi. Grandma Serkan wants to meet you. Would you like to come with me and meet him?”

The villa referred to by desi is only a hundred meters away and it is the most luxurious building beautifully decorated, located in the middle of the Serkan villa complex.

It was the residence villa of the head of the Serkan family. But the Emir didn't stay there because he didn't like being there with a lot of people. The main residence is occupied by Granny Serkan named Layla Serkan, the parents of the Emir and Elisha his younger sister Emir.

“Can I refuse because now is not the right time?” said Arimbi while holding her reddened cheeks.

Seeing the arimbi facial expression, Desi immediately explained “Nona Rafaldi! Grandma Serkan hopes to meet you now!”

After a moment of silence, Arimbi finally decided that if they did not mind the bruised cheek he would not care about it either. “Alright.” answer.

Dedi breathed a sigh of relief and nodded at Arimbi to follow him, “Nona Rafaldi, let's follow me.” The two of them left the pavilion and headed to the main villa.

After Arimbi entered the main villa area, he was very surprised by the ancient model inside the main residence. If Layla Serkan and the people who live there are not wearing modern clothes, Arimbi might think that he went to the colonial era. The luxurious interior of the villa Serkan was comparable to a palace.

Although Layla Serkan was eighty years old, she was still strong and healthy. She has five sons and five conjoined twins. After giving birth to three twin boys, she wants a daughter but all she gets is two twin boys. Currently, his five children have a family and have many children, almost all of them are men except Elisha Melike Serkan.

Elisha is Layla's only granddaughter and of all her grandchildren, the Emir is her favorite granddaughter as well as the successor of the company she has personally educated with her husband. In the Serkan family, Layla was the queen and apart from Emir and Elisha no one dared to fight her.

Although Layla Serkan looks like a wise queen, Arimbi is convinced that Layla is not really a good person. How can a good man educate a man to be as cold and unfeeling as an Emir?

As Arimbi entered the living room, he saw Layla sitting in a therapy chair and a little girl massaging her legs.

Beside Layla there were some women who wore luxurious clothes and wore expensive jewelry. The waiter who drove Arimbi stopped right in front of Layla and reported, “Grandma Serkan, Miss Rafaldi has arrived.”

The little girl who was massaging Layla's legs was the granddaughter of the Serkan family, Elisha. He turned his head and looked at Arimbi, as he looked at Arimbi's bruised cheeks he was shocked for a moment.

When Elisah asked Arimbi, Layla and the other women paid no heed to Arimbi. Arimbi just glanced at them at a glance then replied, “My father.”

Even the surprised Elisha could not imagine why the parents could hit his own child.

After that Desi introduced the people to Arimbi, “Nona Rafaldi, she is Granny Serkan and this girl is Elisha.” after that she introduced all the women in the room to Arimbi. They were the wives of the Serkan family, the wives of Layla Serkan's five children.

Of all the women there was only one who looked at Arimbi with a sharp and insulting gaze starting from the moment he entered the room, after the introduction and finally Arimbi also found out that the woman was the mother of the Emir and the wife of Layla's eldest son.

As a form of courtesy, Arimbi greeted them all one persaty but again they ignored Arimbi except Elisha. Layla waited until Arimbi finished greeting them all before looking at her and telling her to sit down in a soft voice.

“Thanks,” says Arimbi. She finds an empty seat and Elisha welcomes her kindly making her feel at ease while waiting for the question Layla will ask her. Arimbi felt that he was sitting in the courtroom with a row of judges ready to pierce him and impose punishment.

Initially Layla planned to marry the Emir to Arimbi because there were rumors that said that the Emir was impotent. Plus the Emir also did not dispute the rumors. Not even his own family knew the truth and no one dared to ask the Emir for fear of offending him.

Layla was anxious, she wanted to find someone to look after the Emir because he had so many bodyguards, but nothing would beat the precision of a woman in caring for a man. Finally Layla wants to find a wife for the Emir and hopes to marry the Emir so that bad rumors that say that the impotent Emir can stop.

If the Emir is not impotent, at least he has a guard who will take care of him so it is not a bad thing to marry him. However, even though Layla had gone to all the rich families no one wanted to marry the Emir. Layla has no choice but to coerce Arimbi, the heir to the Rafaldi family.

Although in her heart actually Layla humbled Arimbi even though she was the daughter of the Rafaldi family but she was raised in the village and was not qualified to be the Emir's wife.

“I heard the Emir brought you here and let you stay with him. I was just curious, so I asked you to meet me.” Layla said.

“Did the Emir tell you why he brought you here?”

After hearing Layla's words, he was convinced that the Emir had not informed his family that they were married. Perhaps only Emir's bodyguards know that Arimbi is the Emir's wife. Without the Emir's permission, not even his own parents would have known this truth.

Secretly Arimbi admired her husband's firmness in keeping secrets. “I hurt him so he brought me back to punish me.” replied Arimbi gave an excuse. Because they had promised to redress their relationship, Arimbi chose to lie to them. Even though what he said was not entirely a lie.

‘Didn't the Emir take me back to torture me? She won't let me bear the obligation as a wife will she? Can he even make me satisfied in bed?’ thought. After thinking that, Arimbi suddenly thought of an evil idea. Once he's free tonight, he's gonna go prank the Emir.

Seeing the cool face of the Emir blushing in shame was a very pleasant thing for Arimbi. Layla notices Arimbi's face and she is dissatisfied with the woman's answer, but she says nothing to Arimbi. Instead, he glanced at his second son-in-law Lianti. After Lianti received a gesture from Layla, he snorted, “Nona Rafaldi, you have slashed your own wrist and refused to marry the Emir and it has hurt his pride! He will definitely give you back!”
