The Romance of Earth and Blue

The Romance of Earth and Blue
PART 14 – Apology

At the end of the day I couldn't see Blue to know her condition. This was all because my parents were worried and punished me for not going out except for school and a two-week course.

The next day the school came in as usual. I left early in the morning to meet Blue. I waited in front of the class while occasionally glancing towards the IPS Aisle.

“Earth, are you okay?” ask Kartika who just came and greeted me. I can see that worried look on his face.

“I'm fine.”

“Thank God. Yesterday when I heard that the stadium was noisy, so think the same of you. I forgot that we haven't reached out to contact,”.

I smiled in response to that. “Still yes.”

We talked for a while about what happened the day after. Until the bell rings, Blue doesn't come. Is he sick? Seems like.

Throughout the lesson hours I couldn't focus. I was floating my mind in search of Blue. Several times the teacher scolded me for daydreaming in class. It's really not like my usual self.

After school, I had to clean the classroom by myself. I hate Wednesdays the most because of pickets. No, it's not like I hate cleaning classes. But I got the same schedule as Tania and her friends.

“Earth, I go to the toilet first huh. Please take over first,” again he gave the mop tool to my grasp. This isn't the first time. I should have known that he didn't go to the toilet but went home leaving me to do everything myself.

But I who too have no guts to face it can only be resigned.

I was busy mopping the floor for 15 minutes. My back was tired from constantly looking down.

All right, here's the last part. Throwing trash.

I took the big white plastic and took it to the place provided, the back area of the school. But it is quite difficult to carry this trash alone.

“Earth.” I was surprised when someone called me. I haven't looked around, I saw Blue taking the plastic trash out of my hand.

“Do not work alone. You can report the teacher if you want,” he said then walked ahead of me.

“Blue! No, let me just. Your hand still hurts, right?” I hurriedly followed him. I was about to get the plastic back, but Blue held it back. His arm is still bandaged. Although not very visible because it is covered by his uniform arms.

“Cubantu,” said.

“No need. I can.”

“Earth, have a seat.” This time it got serious. I finally relented and let him take over my last job. He came back a few moments later and sat down next to me.

“Your hand hurts? Sorry about me-“

“Earth, not your fault.” He quickly cut my words. But my eyes are already glazed. I am still filled with guilt.

He stroked the top of my head while smiling sweetly. “I'm fine. It's healed,” he said. “Oh yes, my phone is off. Fall off. The LCD broke so I'm still fixing it. Sorry so I can't contact you.”

I nodded in understanding. “Yes, it's okay.”

“Sorry to worry you.”

“Iya, Blue.” I answered while smiling at him. Seeing Blue is fit as usual is more than enough. Seeing him bleed like the day after tomorrow was really a nightmare for me.

“You're not the same?” ask me to realize something.

Blue shakes. “No, I told them first aja.”

“Why?” I know they're always together so it's weird when Blue doesn't come home with her friends.

“Emang do not know the answer what?”

“Nggak.”

He pinched my cheek with anxiety. “I want to see you. Want to be like you. Can ya?”

“Earth!” I turned my head and found Bima who was standing not far from us. He was silent with an unreadable look as if weighing what would come out of his mouth.

But I was already too angry with him. His words yesterday hurt me. I just take my eyes off.

But the sound of Bima's footsteps was getting closer to us.

“Come Blue, go home,” say I stand. But Bima held my backpack.

“Earth, I want to talk briefly,” he said begging.

I looked towards Blue trying to find help. But Blue seemed to not understand my gaze. “Emang what is it?” ask Blue finally.

I could hear Bima's breathing so heavy. “Earth, I want to apologize.”

“New to apologize? Yesterday's fitting said it's not want anything?” sindirku.

Bima was silent.

“What's up?” asked Blue once again, he must be confused by what happened to us.

I finally told all the things that were bothering me to Blue. Bima did not try to defend herself at all and just kept quiet as long as I told her.

“Earth, sorry Bima yes. I asked Bima to take you far from the palace,” said Blue instead defending Bima.

I looked at him in disbelief. “But if he does not help you, your hands may not be that bad.” The defense I keep chasing.

“From the beginning I actually didn't agree that you were watching. It's not that I'm ashamed or don't want to be encouraged. Not at all. But because I know events like this are prone to football matches. That's why yesterday I asked Bima to come with you.

So don't get me wrong, Bima. There's nothing wrong here. If there is no Bima, I don't know how you are. I can't imagine if you are the one who is okay, Bumi,” he explained.

Blue looked at me for a long time as if to convince me that everything he said was a form of earnestness. I turned to look at Bima who was just silent.

“I'm sorry.” Once again Bima said that sentence.

I actually pass if Blue says that. “OK, I'm sorryin.”

Bima looked up. His eyes immediately looked so bright. “Totally?” tanyakanya.

I'm nodding. “Still Earth.”

And in the end our relationship returned to its original form. Looks like I really have a lot to learn from Blue. At a young age, he was even able to put himself into his attitude. He really is a wise man.

Blue brought me home. But when it was not as usual, brother waited on the porch of the house. Even though the path was still a little stiff, he still took pains to open the gate for me.

“Makasih nganter Bumi,” he said.

Blue nodded. “How are you doing, La? Are you feeling better?”

Brother nodded. He turned to my side now then wrapped his hand on my shoulder. “Come deck, sign in.”

I was gonna have a chat about offering Blue to come in first. But from the tone of his brother's speech it seems he still gives distance to Blue.

“Blue, thank you for bringing me,” my great-grandson.

Blue is the blue I know. I'm sure he felt the distance that you gave him. But he still smiled sincerely until his eyes curved. “Iya, see you tomorrow at school.”

I'm nodding. I remained standing in front of the gate until the Blue motor disappeared from my sight.

“Abang angry equals Blue?” many now.

Brother didn't answer anything. “Come lunch.” He just switched the conversation.
