The day we were waiting for finally came. I've learned to desperately sacrifice my sleeping hours for the race this time. My face is messed up. My eye bags are getting blacker. It could be when yesterday I met Blue with a face condition like this.
Early in the morning I was ready in a white-gray uniform. I'm still busy trying to get my hair tidier. My phone notification rang once to make me grab it.
“Hai, spirit yes today. Want to go with?”
Just reading the offer alone made my heart beat fast. “Necessary. I'm going straight to the race, not to school."
“Oh okay. Good luck.”
The sound of knocking on the door of the room made a little shock. “Earth, ready?” ask dad. I hurriedly took my backpack and got out of the room.
“Already, dad.”
Dad smiled and nodded. We headed straight to the kitchen for breakfast. Breakfast is an important rule in this house. We could not do anything before breakfast even though it was too late. Mom said breakfast would make us have the energy to go through the day.
I feel like I miss my mother. Mother rarely went home and chose to accompany her brother in the hospital. While the father always went back and forth from the offices of the hospitals so busy.
“It's all ready?” ask my father on the sidelines of our eating activities.
“Already. There are some difficult ones, but now you can do it,” I replied.
I stroked the top of my head with a smile. The small appreciation you always give me can make me excited.
After breakfast, we got ready to leave. Today's race is held in the next town and takes almost two hours to get there. Dad had to take a day off to get me out. I have said many times that I can take the train. But I refused firmly.
When we were just sitting in the car. Dad's phone rings. It was a phone call from my mom. “Halo, Mom. Why?” ask dad.
There was a mother's sobbing sound there making my premonition worse. “Dad, Sea. Critical sea well.”
It was as if a lightning bolt was splitting my chest for a moment. Dad looked just as surprised as me. “Mother, calm down first. Father with Earth there now,” break up father.
After the phone connection is turned off. Dad is looking at me now. “Adek, does it matter if we visit brother first?” ask dad.
I ventured to welcome my father's serious gaze. I'm nodding.
With that, my dad put his fingers on the wheel that led us to the hospital.
I ran a little following father's hurried footsteps along the corridor. I can see my dad's blue shirt wet with sweat. In front of the ICU, she was crying alone. He hugged my mother and calmed her down.
“Abang can definitely get through everything, Mom. I also have to believe yes,” quiet Dad.
And I just flinch here. The doctor is taking action for the condition of the brother. But they haven't come out yet, making me nervous.
My phone rang with the phone from my Geology teacher. I stood a little away from my father and mother to lift her up.
“Earth, already departed?” tanyakanya.
“Not yet, Mom,” I replied slowly.
“Loh not yet? Yesterday it was you who agreed to go alone. Mother is already on the road. 2 hours away there is a cross check participant. The journey from there is only about 2 and a half hours. You want to embarrass the school?” he grumbled at me with his sharp words.
“Sorry mom. I try to be on time,” I replied slowly.
“If it does not respond, just say it from the beginning. Bikin bothered,” grunts.
I was teary-eyed and could only apologize to him. After the phone call went off, I became even more anxious. The doctor who had given the treatment came back out and told my parents that my brother had to undergo a small operation. How could I ask my father to take me at a time like this.
I clasped my phone tightly. All right, I'll be there alone. By car. I immediately looked for the fastest but empty ticket schedule. There's only an hour left. I'm getting frustrated with it.
“Already on the road?”
“Hospital Bakti Husada?” ask with fast response.
“Iya.”
“I'm there.” Blue Space offline.
I was quite surprised by that answer. What does blue want to do here?
In about 5 minutes, Blue sent me a message again that he was in the lobby and asked me to pick him up. Without saying goodbye to my father and mother I hurried to the lobby to meet her.
Finally in the crowd I could see Blue with a raucous white gray and his beloved black jacket, smiling little when he saw me. “Why are you here?” ask directly.
“Mau anter you to the race place,” answered very lightly to make me excited.
“ayo we permission with your parents first.”
He just walked ahead of me. I hurriedly equated my steps with her. “No need. Later father angry,” my great-grandson.
I was strictly forbidden to have a boyfriend. Well even though we weren't dating, but Dad really limited my friendships with men. I wasn't sure that dad would allow her to drive me.
“I am the permission,” he said firmly.
We're finally really here. Blue instantly approached the father and mother who were looking at him confusedly. “Om, Auntie, introduce me Blue. Friends Earth. I want to ask permission between Earth to a place can not?” he said it straight away without further ado.
While I'm here more and more afraid of the response of the father who looks shocked. “You Blue are Sea friends too right?” ask dad.
This time I was astonished. Blue is sure. “True, Om.”
Dad looked at me making me look down straight in. I can see the father who came up to me and landed his hand on the top of my head. “Earth, sorry I forgot that you have to race now. Actually, I want to run directly. But it doesn't seem possible now.
“Nak, Blue. Titip Bumi ya,” said father then to him.
Whahuh? That easy? I didn't think it through.
Blue smiled and nodded confidently. This time my mother stood up. “Please take care of aunty yes.”
“Iya aunt, I will take care of Earth.”
Though only asking permission to drive the race, but the words of father and mother as if Blue asked permission to hunt me.
We say goodbye because the time is getting worse. Mom hugged me for a second. “Semangat ya dear. sorry mom can not accompany you to learn this time,” he said apologizing.
I'm nodding.
Now I'm on Blue's bike. “You've prepared a helmet for me?” my many. Grabbing the pink helmet.
Blue nodded. “Have my brother.”
“But the Blue-“ Blue that was pairing my helmet hook came to a halt and looked at me.
“Why?"
“Two hours. It's 6 o'clock, later you're late.”
“No will be drawn. Because I want to skip,” the answer made me look at him unreliably.
He chuckled and covered my helmet glass. “I'm used to it. So its okay. Come on up,” he said this time.
