It's been two days, Anggita hasn't come home. He's staying at his cafe. Fortunately, in the Cafe there are some clothes and other equipment provided by Anggita so there is no need to go home to pick up clothes or anything else.
During those two days as well, Anggita felt severe nausea every morning. He can get out of bed after he's over at 7. Luckily, he has a friend like Nia who is very understanding. The woman provided breakfast for Anggita.
"Gita, don't you get pregnant, don't you" said Nia Taut while putting the tray containing her best friend's breakfast. Aggita did not answer, he was still busy removing the contents of his stomach that turned out to be empty.
Aggita out of the bathroom. Let's say he put his body back on the bed. Although his stomach was relieved, but not with his head that still felt dizzy.
"Breakfast first Gita. If it does not improve, you should check with a doctor. Looking at the symptoms you're experiencing I'm pretty sure you're pregnant."
Anggita just smiled hearing Nia's words. His best friend's guess is very true. But for now, Anggita is still keeping the pregnancy a secret and does not intend to tell Nia. The marriage is not in good shape. So Anggita thinks that anyone should not know about her pregnancy.
"Nia, I'm just exhausted and catching a cold. To the doctor just to throw money," Anggita answered reasoned.
"As far as you are, Gita. I really wish you were pregnant. Said the old man of old. Children can strengthen the relationship between husband and wife. I want you to be happy in your marriage. Especially your husband's extended family. They must have been expecting a lot of your marriage."
Again, Anggita just smiled. Nia is his best friend. The woman looked sincere in her every word.
"Hopefully," Anggita said briefly. His heart returned optimistically after hearing Nia's words. It is possible that Evan will maintain their household if they find out they are pregnant.
The question kept coming to Anggita's mind. If it was because of the child, their household could be maintained and now she is pregnant. It was in her mind to tell Evan the pregnancy as soon as possible.
But then, Anggita's heart was shrouded in cloudiness. How painful it is for the family to survive because the child is not because of love. It was the same that his life was still in a cycle of suffering. Love is not on his side. And it will certainly have an effect on the happiness of his son later.
I guess we are in a worry. Between notifying her of her pregnancy and giving up on their divorce.
"Don't daydream. Breakfast is eaten."
Anggita gasped from her daydream and looked at the breakfast. Under these circumstances, Evan should be the one paying attention to him. But even though there was no attention from Evan. Anggita is still grateful to have a good friend like Nia.
After struggling to finish the breakfast provided by Nia. Let's get out of the cafe. He plans to visit his parents' house on the outskirts of town.
It only took two hours on the way, Anggita arrived in front of his house. He knocked on the door of the house with a thumping chest. Even if he arrives during business hours. Still, Anggita feels fear if he meets his stepfather at this time.
What Anggita fears turns out to be true. The one who opened the door for him was not his mother but the stepfather.
"Women, you're coming, son. Please come in," welcome Indra kindly. Seeing the friendly nature shown by his stepfather can be ascertained if his mother must be at home. Aggita already knows the character of his stepfather. If his mother is there then Indra will be very kind. But if there isn't. Then Indra will show his true nature.
"Mama," call Anggita to make sure that her mother is in the house. Anggita felt relieved after hearing her mother answer from inside the room.
When Anggita wants to enter the house. Indra smiled and stroked his arm. As fast as lightning, Anggita brushed the hand aside violently. This is what Anggita fears if she comes to her mother's house. Indra will steal the time to act disrespectfully to her.
Anggita stepped quickly towards her mother's room. It turns out the reason his stepfather was still at home during working hours like this was because his mother was not feeling well.
"We talk on the couch, ma" Anggita said.
"Here is my son. Mama is not feeling well," replied Mama Feli honestly.
"Did he not work?" ask Anggita. He she meant was her stepfather.
Angita breathed a sigh of relief. His arrival to his parents' house will not be in vain. At least Indra will soon go to work and he can tell free stories with Mama Feli.
As long as Indra is home. Anggita did not move from the edge of the bed where Mama Feli lay. He did not allow even a second gap to Indra to be disrespectful to him.
The time we waited finally arrived. Right at noon, Indra came out of the house. Anggita also felt the spaciousness in the house. Before talking to Mama Feli. Let's lock the door first. He was afraid that Indra would come home.
"There's something I want to talk to my mom about."
Mama is the best place. And that goes for Anggita. Faced with household problems, honestly Anggita need friends to share. And Anggita only trusts her own mother. For Anggita as sincere as anyone else to him but only mama is the safest place to keep a secret.
"Ma, I'm pregnant," Anggita said slowly. Mama Feli who heard her daughter's words immediately smiled. Seeing that smile, Anggita's heart was sliced. This happy news he delivered was the opening sentence to convey the state of his household.
"Happy daughter. Soon I will be a grandmother and you will be a mother" said Mama Feli enthusiastically. The pain in his head seemed to disappear after hearing the happy news. All thanksgiving and prayer came from his lips.
"Mommy glad I'm pregnant?" ask Anggita. She should not have to ask that because it was clear that Mama Feli was very happy to hear about her pregnancy. But, Anggita seems to have no vocabulary to express the problem that he really wants to convey.
"Mama is very happy. Look at my headache gone just hearing this happy news. I don't think it's just me, your two in-laws and your husband's entire extended family must be happy. Did they know about your pregnancy?.
"Yet ma."
"Why son?. It should be your husband and his extended family who should first know about your pregnancy."
"Because Evan and I are getting divorced" Anggita said slowly. When she said that, Anggita again felt her heart break into pieces.
The happy hue that had been seen on Mama Feli's face disappeared immediately changed with a surprised face. Anggita looked at her mother's face sadly. Notifying household problems to his mother is not a thing that arrives. During these two days, Anggita has thought carefully to talk with her mother about her household.
"What caused you to divorce. Is your husband cheating or are you cheating?.
Angita shook his head. One year into the marriage, she never saw anything suspicious or saw Evan having an affair.
"Then what?. Can't you be a good wife to your husband all this time?" ask Mama Feli again. Anggita shook his head again.
"Before we were married we made a covenant ma. We were married while Martin's grandfather was alive. Doctors have sentenced Martin's grandfather's age to not be too old."
"What kind of wedding is that?" asked mama Feli angry.
"Actually our marriage was due to grandfather Martin's wishes. Grandpa Martin betrothed me to Evan's mas," Anggita said, starting to unlock the secrets of his early marriage to Evan.
Mama Feli was surprised to hear Anggita's words. He did not know the match at all. When Anggita asks for permission to marry she says that Evan is her lover. And the proposal until the wedding there are no irregularities if they are not lovers.
"What's your reason for doing this, all Angita. Why would you lie to your mom like this."
Anggita started sobbing hearing her mother's question. The shadow of his stepfather's treatment flashed across his head. If he told Mama Feli of course his mama would feel devastated.
"Tell my son, what is the reason you have gone that far without talking to my mother" said Mama Feli persuading Anggita who was still sobbing.
"I just want to have a good reason to get out of this house ma. I'm looking for safe refuge. So many times you've tried to rape me."
