37 - Wonder

That night Anaya and Izzar got through just fine. Even though their dating location did not match the planned one. Their random talk is still fun.

Anaya no longer talks about Sasika. He learned to accept and trust Izzar, and did not care about the woman.

Even so, Anaya was still faced with a situation that made her uncomfortable. The next day, Ms. Erlina called him and questioned why it wasn't her who was in charge of his office event.

"Why did you leave it to Sandra, Nay? Kan, my show is usually you who handle it directly?" ask Ms. Erlina.

"I'm busy, Mom," Anaya replied.

"Busy what?" Ms. Erlina sounded in disbelief.

Anaya thought fast.

"Or, because Sasika is the PIC from our office?" guess Miss Erlina.

"I want a vacation." The answer spontaneously slid from his mouth.

"What leave?

"You're moving house" Anaya replied.

Ms. Erlina was silent. In her heart, Anaya believed that she was not lying. It is true that he will be moving into his house in the near future.

"OK, Anaya! Well then, it doesn't matter if Sandra's in charge. I'm afraid you won't take care of it because Sasika was once engaged to your husband."

Anaya biting her lips. I don't like Ms. Erlina bringing that up.

"Greetings to Izzar. Oh yeah, he's lucky to get a mega project from Mr. Arsyad."

Surprised Anaya hears her former in-law's name called. However, he did not want to show his astonishment to Ms. Erlina.

Finished closing her calling app, Anaya put the phone on the table and looked at it. His heart was covered with many question marks about the megaproject of Mr. Arsyad delivered by Ms. Erlina. Why didn't Izzar tell her?

Anaya wanted to ask Izzar right now, but his instincts held him back. There was suspicion that was lurking in his heart. Suddenly he felt something was wrong. After thinking and weighing for a moment, he decided to just meet Mr. Arsyad to get the first information. He could use the reason to visit, because ever since he was told about his illness, Anaya had not seen him.

After finishing her work, Anaya rushed to the hospital where Mr. Arsyad was being treated. He got his address from his former assistant-in-law.

Mr. Arsyad is lying in a hospital VIP room bed. Anaya did not know how her initial condition was, but she saw that the old man looked healthy even though he was a little pale.

His twilight eyes sparkled at Anaya's arrival. No family was with him at the time, only his assistant and two staff were working at the dining table and sofa. They all immediately resigned out of the room, giving the opportunity and privacy space to Anaya and Mr. Arsyad.

"How are you, Anaya?" Even Mr. Arsyad greeted him first.

"Good." Anaya put her carry-on fruit basket on the table. Then, pull the chair next to Mr. Arsyad's bed.

"Why are you visiting me now?" Mr. Arsyad smiled.

"Sorry, I just got a chance." Anaya noticed the oximeter on Mr. Arsyad's index finger.

"My condition has improved. It turns out I'm still strong enough to survive," explained Mr. Arsyad chuckled.

Anaya replied with a smile.

"You're okay, right?" ask Mr. Arsyad.

Anaya's head was nosed.

"But you look nervous." Mr. Arsyad seemed to be able to read Anaya's heart. "What's wrong?"

"Neverything." Anaha was evasive.

"You can't lie to me, Anaya."

The look in Mr. Arsyad's eyes looked at Anaya's face. It makes her not hide her feelings. After all, it wasn't to eliminate his anxiety that he came here?

"Hm... About Izzar," replied Anaya lirih.

"Why him? You guys got a problem?"

"Is he really given a big project?" ask Anaya.

Mr. Arsyad was silent for a moment. Anaya braided her fingers tightly.

"Religious. I even heard from others. I wonder why he didn't tell me. And, why is he suddenly given the project? Didn't you trust Izzar?" Anaya expressed her unease.

"That was, Anaya... I misjudged it at the beginning. You're correct. He's the man in charge."

Why is he given the project? Anaya repeated her question. For Mr. Arsyad has not fulfilled his curiosity.

"I made a contest for a property development plan. He entered the contest like everyone else. I chose it because the proposal was the best."

"Isn't it because he's my husband?" Anaya still doesn't believe it.

"Why is he your husband? What's wrong with that?"

"Bias, Sir. It was strange, considering the background of your relationship with me. I don't want Izzar to be given a job because he's my husband and Naira's stepfather. Not objectively means."

"You don't have to think that, Nay... I can't just give something or trust to someone else."

Anaya knows Mr. Arsyad well. This old man was not easy to trust anyone.

"Why don't you just support him? Men if you get the full support of his wife, must be the spirit of work. If he succeeds, you will be able to focus on taking care of Naira and her future sister."

Mr. Arsyad's words made Anaya blush.

"I just wonder why Izzar didn't tell me about this project."

"Did he always tell me all his work?" Mr. Arsyad looked at him.

Anaya nodded. Since they were on good terms, despite not knowing the details, Izzar often told what he was doing.

"I just told him yesterday, and we haven't signed a contract. Maybe Izzar hasn't felt sure enough to delay telling you."

Anaya. It makes sense if the reason is so.

"Who told you this work?" Mr. Arsyad over curious.

"Mrs Erlina." Anaya answered slowly.

Mr. Arsyad was silent as if thinking of something.

Then, after a few moments. Mr. Arsyad switched the conversation by asking Naira. The conversation moved on to something else.

Before saying goodbye, Mr. Arsyad once again convinced Anaya that it was fine that Izzar had not given his name.

"Maybe he wants a surprise for you."

Anaya smiled. Then he went out of the room.

After Anaya died, Mr. Arsyad pondered. He realized, Anaya was too sensitive and independent. Gotta carefully convince her that what she did was out of affection for her and Naira.

When he returned home, Anaya waited for Izzar to say about his project. But the man did not offend in the slightest. He was excited to tell me something else.

Furthermore, after the night, Izzar was busy accompanying Naira to study and play. As if there was no meaning to him news about the prestigious project of Anaya's former in-laws.

Anaya finally gave up. He decided to wait for Izzar to tell him later. Maybe when he has felt sure as believed by Mr. Arsyad.

After keeping Izzar's secret out of his mind, Anaya realizes that tomorrow is already weekend, but Ridwan has not contacted him about Naira.

He was surprised because previously Ridwan eagerly shared time with Naira.

Curiosity then prompted Anaya to send him a message.

"Weekend, when are you gonna pick up Naira when?"

It took half an hour for Anaya to wait for Ridwan's answer.

"I'm busy. Can't get Naira."

Ridwan's answer really confused Anaya. Tumben Ridwan seemed unconcerned and reasoned busy. Why is it that since his commotion with his wife caused Naira to go home alone, Ridwan seems to ignore Naira?
