Chapter 9: A Sacrifice

Alvaro only eats his food without interest. He also did not listen to what the girl in front of him said. The focus is only on the phone that has been quiet on the table since. As if waiting for someone to call him or just send a message. Helaan breathed out of Alvaro's mouth while releasing the fork he held roughly onto the plate. It made the girl in front of him look surprised mixed with guilt and a little highlight of fear on Alvaro.

“Do I talk too much, Alvaro?” jihan asked with a slight trembling tone that he held back.

“No, just continue. I listened,” replied Alvaro lying who immediately changed his facial expression when he realized his mistake.

Jihan is not a girl who is too stupid to believe what Alvaro says is the truth. He has since spoken, waiting for Alvaro's response so that he does not look strange because he speaks for himself. However, as hard as he thought to continue looking for the topic of conversation, it did not attract Alvaro's attention at all.

“Is there anything you're waiting for?” asked Jihan who finally gave up on her own.

This time Alvaro turned his attention entirely to Jihan. “No.” Alvaro smiled convincingly at Jihan.

“So, where did you talk about it?” ask Alvaro straight.

Jihan did not reply anymore and stared right at Alvaro's bead of eyes for a long time. Alvaro had spoken wrongly and took a stance now, looking at Jihan's facial expression. However, no matter how hard he tried and tried, he still could not expel Olvee from his heart and mind. Although he spoke to Olvee about taking this risk seriously, he could not really try to forget Olvee.

“Alvaro, is there someone you like?” Jihan's question was right on target. Alvaro could no longer dodge the girl in front of him who was not as stupid as he thought.

“Ya, no.” In the end, he chose to speak honestly. Maybe this is where he finally made the plan.

“What is Brother Olvee?” jihan asked back which Alvaro could not answer quickly.

“That's right,” replied Alvaro a few seconds.

“I expected it,” Jihan murmured while lowering her head, hiding a look of disappointment on her face.

Alvaro only noticed how the face that was already filled with disappointment was. He could not and did not want to comfort her because she was the cause of such a Jihan. Maybe he should give up on this plan.

“I'm sorry, I loved Vee and got engaged to you to make her jealous and open her heart to me. Actually ... I don't really intend to marry you.” The words of honesty that were more bitter than anything made Jihan's heart really as if it was pierced by something sharp and destroyed it slowly cruelly.

“But it looks like I should stop here. I don't want to hurt you any longer.” They are not engaged for a month yet, but Alvaro has decided.

Jihan tried hard to deny the look full of compassion that was shown to her. However, as hard as he denied, after hearing with his own ears the honesty, he was no longer able to dwell. Even so, he still wanted to try and hope that if one day, the look of compassion would turn into a full of desire and love for him.

“I'll go,” said Alvaro back then stood up from his seat.

“What if I'm ready?” Jihan's question brought Alvaro's movement to a standstill. He looked straight back at Jihan who was still bowing her head.

“What if I still want you to use?” jihan asked once again who this time looked up looking right at Alvaro's bead of eyes once again.

“I've said if I don't want to hurt you any longer, I've given up.” Alvaro.

‘Not mean I give up on Vee.’ He continues in his mind.

“I will help you get Brother Olvee by being your fiance and making him jealous until he opens his heart to you, according to your plan.” Jihan was more convincing to Alvaro.

Alvaro scrunched his forehead staring at Jihan confused, although he did not mind sitting back and began to be interested in the conversation. If it was Jihan who voluntarily did so, she had absolutely no objections and felt even more guilty towards the girl in front of her.

“Why would you do it?” ask Alvaro.

“Unlike you, I like you sincerely,” Jihan replied.

“That's why you want to do it?” Alvaro became increasingly confused by Jihan's answer.

“Let's just say I want the person I like to be happy. Then I will also be happy even though I am not with me.” Strange or rather nonsensical answers, according to Alvaro. Jihan is a strange girl and a little she can't believe.

“If you voluntarily do so, I will not refuse it. Please help him to the future.” Alvaro reached out his hand to shake hands with a satisfied smile as if their transaction had truly succeeded.

“Isn't that Alvaro and Jihan? Turns out they were dating here,” said Zara who was with Olvee.

Zara's words diverted Olvee's attention. It turns out that it's true that Alvaro is with Jihan. Now he looks very familiar and friendly. Perhaps it was true that Alvaro had given up on it and started to open his heart to Jihan. He should be happy with Alvaro's decision. However, for some reason, seeing Alvaro with Jihan and getting familiar makes Olvee uncomfortable and unwilling.

“Let's go somewhere else,” take Olvee.

“Why? Let's just say what they were and tease them a little,” said Zara excited.

“They're dating, it's not good we bother him,” timpal Olvee who first goes ahead.

“Vee! Olvee, wait!” Zara immediately followed where Olvee was going before once again looking towards Alvaro and Jihan's table. At first glance he saw Jihan staring at him and realized his whereabouts.

Jihan has been aware since Olvee's arrival with Zara. Until he saw her come out again. Any girl can guess in one go if Olvee really likes Alvaro. Those who know the relationship between Alvaro and Olvee will know the reason why Olvee does not admit it is because of their relationship. Either the girl herself is unaware of her feelings. If you realize, Olvee has no other choice. This made Jihan have another thought idea. Maybe he has a chance with Alvaro.

“I just saw Kak Olvee with Kak Zara earlier,” said Jihan shifted the topic of conversation.

“Where?” alvaro asked as he looked around looking for Olvee's whereabouts.

“Just I'll say hello, they're out,” Jihan replied.

“Alvaro, I think, Brother Vee already likes you.” Jihan looked at Alvaro.

“I know,” said Alvaro.

‘If you know about it, then why don't you stop like him because your relationship will only be a sister and sister?’  ask Jihan in her mind.

“I think it's not long to be able to make Kak Olvee realize it,” said Jihan.

“But, Alvaro, why do you want Brother Olvee? I mean ... You guys are brother and sister seen by anyone. What about your future if you were together?” ask Jihan.

“We are not sister and sister,” replied Alvaro easily.

“Means?” Kernyitan appeared on Jihan's forehead because he did not understand.

“You don't need to know,” timpal Alvaro cold. Jihan did not speak any more, hearing Alvaro's cold tone to fully draw a line between them.
