(Not) Mistake
Chapter 49: The Wedding Invitation

It has been a month since Olvee left her parents' home and moved into the house where she was supposed to live. With his biological family is his only brother. During that time, Zahir showed no signs of making a decision in his life. He still felt guilty and drowned in it. Not acting at all since that day.

A few days before the wedding of his only son, with a woman he loved so much like his own biological daughter. Zahir did not feel the happiness even after the wedding invitation was in front of his eyes. 10 days from now, they will return to be one family, but in a different status. As in-laws and daughters-in-law.

“Zahir, where are you going?” The question Flora heard was not at all revealed. Zahir passed the wife who was in the living room just like that.

Zahir took the only car in the garage and drove it at full speed. While Flora who was confused to see her husband's behavior, immediately called her son to ask for help watching his father. No one could guess what the man was going to do.

Zahir arrived in front of a large house where he lived in childhood and spent the entire time he was a teenager and growing up. His parents' second home. Looking at the parked car, it seemed that the two of them were at home at the moment. Not wasting any more time, Zahir just walked in.

“Wah, wah, wah... it looks like we have an old guest,” said Kenar welcomed his son's arrival with his trademark haughty tone and style.

“What brings you here, Zahir? Last month your son, now his father. Are you going to blame us for telling Alvaro the truth?” ask Laila to speak.

“If you want to break up, disconnect completely and if necessary do not have to bring the name Marveen behind your name!” exclaim Kenar added.

“Where can I cut ties with both of my parents?” Zahir's question invited another frown on the foreheads of these two middle-aged couples.

“What do you mean? Are you here to ask for an inheritance because your own property is up for your son's wedding? Cih, when you don't need us, you throw us away. This time, you came begging us for treasure. From the beginning, there is no need to pretend if you can't do anything without Marveen's name, Zahir!” cerocos Kenar is not happy.

“I'm here to apologize,” said Zahir briefly which made the two surprised.

Laila smiled obliquely. “What is this ruse?” tanyakanya.

“I didn't come to ask for treasure or blame anything. I came here to apologize and reconnect our relationship, Ma, Pa.” Silence lay between them after Zahir finished saying it.

“I'm sorry for my impulsive decision over several years, Ma, Pa.” Zahir spoke again even to the point of bowing his head.

Zahir did not say what Alvaro had said. If the reason is like that, then the decision he will take will likely be the same as he took a few years ago. Therefore, it took Zahir a month to admit his mistake and apologize to them, despite all the mistakes they had done to him as well. Although it will be difficult to make up for it, Zahir still wants to apologize to those who became his parents.

“Zahir ..” The tone of voice of Kenar in calling him softened.

“We don't know what to talk about especially if your arrival here is for it. You are very or too good, which we have absolutely no nature,” Kenar said back which is listened to well by Zahir.

“It looks like we have to change now,” he continued with a sigh.

“Why did you suddenly come here and apologize to us?” Laila still did not lower her tone. Still reluctant to open her heart to Zahir, even though she is her own biological mother.

"I admit my mistakes to you as a child. Act impulsively by breaking off family relationships" Zahir replied firmly.

"What does that mean if you regret having chosen to raise that child and cut off our family relationship? I heard from Alvaro that you acted like we did to the boy and hurt him. Now he's turned away from you and you're apologizing to us?" ask Laila.

"No, I have absolutely no regrets about raising her. What I regret are my actions in the past. Although our relationship is now like this, but I as his father want to fix it by apologizing for being guilty. I don't want to repeat the mistakes my parents made." Although his words were dangerous because they clearly insinuated the two people in front of him, Zahir did not expect to get forgiveness from his parents. He just wants his parents to change and have a new perspective.

"Maybe our ways and attitudes are not right, but we as parents still feel sad about your decision, disappointed, and angry. No matter what our son, even humans as bad as us still love his son, Zahir." Zahir did not expect that his parents would show their weak side like this.

As far as he knew his parents, they were disciplined, hard, strict, and strict enough. That's what makes Zahir feel if his parents are wrong in educating him. However, it is unexpected that the habit was carried away so he made a mistake on his own daughter.

"Nothing, I came here just to say that, Ma, Pa. There's still something to be done by me." But unfortunately, Zahir refused after the business that was here was finished.

Kenar and Laila did not answer. Zahir could tell what their mouths were accustomed to cursing were about to say.

"Go home whenever you want, Zahir." Unexpectedly, Kenar hugged the warm body of his son who was also not young anymore like him.

"Yes" he answered briefly.

"I'm going to go." Zahir let go of his embrace and prepared to leave. However, he reached into his pocket and gave her an invitation.

"Alvaro"

"We've got it," cut Laila quickly.

"All right," said Zahir, re-inserting the invitation.

"Don't forget to come on her show, Ma, Pa." Both unexpectedly nodded.

"But please don't make a fuss anymore" he continued.

"While she's the daughter of the Roxanne family you don't like, she was raised by your son from the Marveen family blood. Please don't hate him too much. I beg of you." Zahir then left.

"What do you think Laila?" ask Kenar.

"After all, he still has the Roxanne family's dirty blood" he replied.

"You're right. But, let's look ahead of him." Laila nodded in agreement.
