Chapter 2: Accepting Marriage

“Ma, Pa, is someone coming to visit tonight?” asked Olvee when he had just returned home after coming out with Zara to spend his time.

Seeing the housekeeper and his mother had been busy since the afternoon seemed to prepare the upcoming guests. Even his father had come home sooner than usual.

“Vee, you better take a shower and get ready.” Instead of answering, the mother gave her orders.

“Breaking? But for what?” The words of Flora, her mother, certainly invited more questions in Olvee's head.

“Jihan and his family will come to visit.” Although not fully explained, Olvee immediately knew the direction of this conversation. His memory was immediately drawn to what Alvaro had said yesterday to him.

“Vee .. ” call the father, but there is no rubbing from the girl.

“Olvee!” Her mother's half-calling voice made Olvee flinch.

“I-iya, Ma?” asked Olvee after waking up from his short daydream.

“Papa called you since,” replied Flora while pointing at her husband who was not far from her daughter with her eyes.

“What's up, Pa? Sorry, Vee was a little dreamy.” Olvee turned his attention to his father, Zahir.

“Is there something you're thinking, son?” Zahir asked Olvee.

Olvee changed her face slightly before replying, “Nothing, Pa. Vee is just a little tired after leaving with Zara.”

“Did Jihan and her family come to make an arranged marriage with Alvaro?” This time Olvee asked her mother again.

“Where did you know that? Yes, this is the main topic of Alvaro and Jihan's match. However, still everything depends on both of them.” Flora explained. Olvee already knew clearly what Alvaro would say later because he had heard the answer directly from his sister.

“Alvaro has told me that he will accept this match. If so, Vee goes to the room to get ready, Ma, Pa.” Olvee finally said goodbye as he stepped foot after finishing their conversation.

Without Olvee realizing it, someone who had already gone home, noticed the interaction between Olvee and his parents. That person could have guessed was Alvaro who had just returned from the Office sooner than usual. To perfect his plan this time. However, until now, her brother did not give the response he expected.

If this works out, he'll cancel the relationship with Jihan. Even if this did not work out even to the end, he would still cancel the relationship with Jihan. “Yes, I guess. Jihan is a good girl," replied Alvaro with eyes glancing towards the steps where Olvee was still.

“Of course Jihan is a good girl and we have known since the company banquet. She'll be the girl to be your wife" said Flora happily.

“Alright, then I will go and get ready to welcome Jihan.” Alvaro left after not seeing the last Olvee he saw to climb the stairs.

“Mr and Mrs Marveen, glad you invited us to dinner at your home. We thank you." Jihan's father, Mr. Handreson, said with a friendly smile. Start the conversation in the middle of their dinner.

“We are also glad you would like to accept our invitation,” replied Zahir.

Each of the parents started talking. Jihan had been continuously glancing towards Alvaro who was calmly eating his food. Anyone can tell clearly if the Handreson family's daughter likes Alvaro. Of course, no one can resist the charm of the son of the Marveen family. Olvee knew that and was aware of Jihan's attitude from the start. He glanced at his sister who was beside him, who still looked ordinary. Olvee believes that Alvaro has not been unaware of Jihan since.

“Ma, Pa, as Alvaro said earlier this afternoon, Alvaro received an arranged marriage with Jihan.” Alvaro who raised his voice made the whole attention attracted to him. He spoke directly at the heart of this dinner talk.

“It looks like Nak Alvaro already knows the main topic of this dinner. Directly speaking at its core,” said Mrs Handreson.

“Sure, I told Jihan myself earlier that I would accept this matchmaking.” Alvaro replied with a smile.

“Alright, Son. If you accept your match with Jihan, then what about Jihan herself?” asked Zahir to turn to the girl who had been embarrassed since.

“A-I have also agreed with Alvaro," Jihan replied.

“Although matchmaking, I hope we can be together forever and learn to love each other.” Sounds pretty nasty. However, this is all he did to see how Olvee responded with his words that sounded really serious to Jihan.

Alvaro grinned more and added his action by holding Jihan's hand, seeing her brother keep glancing at her. Could it be that his plan would succeed at this early stage?

“I also want the same thing you think, Alvaro.” Jihan this time looked at Alvaro with flushed cheeks.

Olvee cleared his throat and drank water from his glass. It made the romantic atmosphere suddenly created at the dining table disappear instantly. Quite satisfied with seeing Olvee's response that looks clearly jealous. However, he is still not sure with Olvee who wants to be honest with his feelings.

“I'm glad my sister is going to marry a nice girl like you, Jihan," Olvee said, raising her voice as she looked at Jihan with her warm smile.

“I'm lucky to get your sister, Brother Olvee.” Unfortunately, the fate of Jihan is only used as material for Alvaro's plan.

“It looks like your wedding will be held soon,” said Olvee again still with a smile.

“Of course, as soon as I get to know more about Jihan, we'll have a fancy wedding.” Alvaro's reply made the smile on Olvee's lips disappear. However, the smile on Alvaro's lips continued to develop while staring at Jihan.

“I'm waiting for him,” timpal Olvee.

“Should have married in order was you first before Alvaro, Vee. Should I match you up like Alvaro?” zahir asked starting to tease Olvee. One of Alvaro's older sisters, as well as Zahir's second daughter, actually looks reluctant and like there is no intention to get married, as well as the first brother.

“Will I think,” replied Olvee with a smile. Olvee's answer this time was beyond Zahir's expectations.

“So soon match Brother, Pa. So that we both hold the wedding on the same day.” Again Alvaro's words upset Olvee.

“Ya, it looks like so.” Zahir laughed, inviting the laughter of others.

“Vee is full, you guys just continue the chat. Excuse me for going to the room first.” Olvee said goodbye after finishing his meal to the people who were still busy chatting.

“Good rest, Vee.” Mrs Handreson said.

Alvaro let go of Jihan's hand and began to finish his meal. Alvaro's attitude became colder after Olvee's departure. He remained silent until the food was finished.

“Alvaro will also go up first,” said Alvaro briefly while standing from his seat.

“Alvaro, won't you know Jihan more deeply? Invite Jihan to chat longer,” asked Flora trying to prevent Alvaro who was about to leave the dining table.

“That could be done another time, Alvaro was already sleepy and tired from working. So, Om, Auntie, sorry as big as it is.” Alvaro stared at the two Jihan parents before finally leaving the dining table disrespectfully.
