Lara is a person who cannot pretend to be someone else. Lara is Lara. He could've approached Robert's family via Velvet.
But Lara can't be as sweet as Davina who uses her sweet smile and soft speech to get into the Phoenix family circle.
No, that's not Lara's way. Lara preferred the short way that forced Robert's family to support her. He's tired of the pretense. In his mind, he just wanted to see Davina's destruction.
Lara went to the restaurant with the driver and also Gonza for sure. Arriving there, Lara headed straight for the dinner in the VVIP room ordered by Silas.
"Hello, Honey. You look so pretty tonight" said Silas and Lara kissing both of Silas' cheeks.
"Healthy uncle? Has the uncle found a woman who will take care of the uncle in old age?" asked Lara flat who was actually greeted by laughter by some business partners of Silas except Phoenix who did not laugh at all and his eyes were only fixed on the figure of Lara.
Ever since learning about Davina and Lara's problems, Phoenix had avoided both of them according to her father's advice to keep the situation under control.
Lara's blue eyes were pounded on the Phoenix's eyes that looked looking at her sharply. Lara gave a faint smile to Phoenix. A smile that was almost invisible and only the Phoenix saw it.
"Sit down, dear Lara. Ah yes, when are you going to meet uncle's son? He's been waiting for months to date you" said Mr. Xander, one of Silas' closest friends.
"I'm not interested in dating, Uncle. I'd rather work" Lara replied casually as she drank the drink in front of her desk.
"Ooh ... You're gonna break her heart, Lara. At least try it first. Uncle knows Mr. Xander's son very well. He's a good guy and I think he'll suit you. She is very sweet and romantic" Silas said.
"Thank you ... You promoted my son in front of Lara very well, Silas," Xander laughed softly.
Xander and Silas laughed together because of Lara's words. Phoenix's reaction? Impressed cuek and respond to whatever small talk.
Then the conversation continued with talk about their business. Lara seemed to be able to blend in and get into the chat because she was already trained and used to it. It was inseparable from the role of Silas who always took Lara wherever she attended business events.
Lara who is very smart and smart can immediately absorb the knowledge taught by Silas quickly.
At the dinner, Lara and Phoenix did not even interact at all. Lara didn't like it because she thought it would be easy to lure the Phoenix but it wasn't that easy.
Dinner is over. Everyone went home. Lara was in front of the hotel lobby and waiting for her driver to pick her up.
The passing Phoenix unwillingly stopped his car in front of Lara because he saw Lara alone there. Phoenix opened the window of her luxury car and turned her head towards Lara.
"Where is your driver and bodyguard?" ask Phoenix.
Lara simply flicked her shoulders without answering.
"Naiklah ... Our goals are the same" Phoenix said flatly.
Then Lara got into Phoenix's car without saying much. Phoenix was not surprised by that because Lara was among the people who did not have too much drama and pleasantries.
Phoenix finally drove his car again. They went home together to the apartment.
