"You're still defending her" said Lara, taking off Phoenix's hand.

"No, I just don't want any commotion. You're pregnant and I don't want your pregnancy to be in trouble because of this" Phoenix replied.

"Oh come on ... You're still protecting her. Otherwise, you should have kicked her out of the company or you could have let go of her company and she's working on her own without your help anymore" Lara said sharply.

Phoenix fell silent.

"See? You can't do that, can you?" ketus Lara's.

"alright. I want you to know something. You must know Uncle Harlow very well, right? He was my business partner back then and we were pretty close because he's a very nice guy. You must know that, right? I did all this for him. I had a promise to him to look after his company before he died" Phoenix explained.

"Including Davina?"

"You can judge for yourself" Phoenix replied.

"Uncle Harlow is no longer in this world. Forget promises. Isn't it more important to live your life with a living person?" lara said without any burden.

"Mara ... This isn't you. You're not like this. I'm trying to keep you away from Davina and so am I. I never saw Davina again" Phoenix said.

Lara was silent for a moment.

"Then divorce me" said Lara.

"What??? Are you kidding?" Phoenix stared intently at Lara.

"It'll be easier for me to avenge Davina if you don't interfere. My previous estimate was very wrong. I shouldn't have used you, Phoenix. Go and don't see me again. No need to worry about my baby. I can really take care of her myself" said Lara calmly but her heart was actually very upset.

"I've made a very easy choice before. But you didn't choose it and made your own decisions. I'm disappointed in you. Very very disappointed," said Lara with full emphasis.

"Oh my God. You're really stubborn," growled Phoenix.

"You made me like this. Now I'm letting you go. I don't need you anymore. Because there's nothing I can use from you. You'd rather make your promise to the dead than choose me who's still alive." Lara sat back to her chair.

"I won't leave you no matter what. And you won't be able to walk away from me as you please" Phoenix said.

"We're not going to be happy, Phoenix. Believe me," Kara shrieked and turned her chair against the window.

Phoenix didn't leave Lara. He sat down on the chair that was in front of Lara's desk. He'll be waiting for Lara.

"We'll still go to the mansion tonight. Mommy and my family are waiting" Phoenix said

Lara answered nothing. He just stared silently at the dark sky that was about to darken.

An hour passed, Lara was still in her position just like before as well as Phoenix. These two equally stubborn people were still both speechless.

Then Phoenix finally got out of her chair and approached Lara. Lara looked to rest her head on the big chair.

His eyes were still staring at the sky that was already nearing night.

Phoenix sat on his knees in front of him and clasped his hands. Lara still did not look at his face.

"I love you, Baby. I love you so much. Whatever happens, I will never let you leave me. You've been tied to me until the next. Nothing can separate us, including yourself," Phoenix said, hugging her.
