Cindy came home in the afternoon. As he entered, Devon greeted his wife with a sidekick. "Darling, did you deliberately avoid me?" Devon asked half intimidatingly.
"Sorry, Mom." Not many words Cindy said to defend herself.
Devon's countenance changed when he saw his wife as if not excited. "Is there a problem?" Ask Devon.
Cindy smiled as she looked at her husband. "Ah no, I'm just tired," Cindy lied.
"Well, let me take you to the room." Devon shrugs Cindy's shoulder.
"Mama, where have you been? I was looking for Mama" exclaimed Cello as he welcomed his mother's return.
Cindy crouches down to equalize her height with Cello. "I'm sorry, my mom went to the store. Cello didn't play with Ruby's sister?" Ask Cindy.
Cello. "Sister went with his friends" replied Cello.
Cindy turned to Devon. "Ruby where, Mas?"
Devon shook his shoulder. "So, I was out for a while to meet a client with Bayu."
"Have you been on the phone?" Ask Cindy then.
"Handphonenya is inactive. I've been in contact many times,"
Tong
The sound of the bell made Cindy and Devon turn their heads. "Maybe it's him?" Cindy said. Cindy opened the door.
"Who are you two able to be with Ruby?" Devon asked when he saw his two older siblings coming with Ruby.
"Yes, um. Didn't meet in the cafe on purpose" Julian replied politely.
"Lake in!" Cindy brought them in.
"I go upstairs first" said Ruby. Devon and Cindy looked at each other.
"Why is he pouting all the time?" Ask Julian Cindy.
Julian laughed instead. "Jaden forced her to go home together. And along the way they kept fighting" Julian replied. Cindy just shook her head.
"Want a drink?"
"Looks like we're just going home, Auntie," Jaden broke up.
"Yes, be careful, greetings to your parents" he said to Jaden and Julian.
"Good, Auntie."
"Mas, I'm going to Ruby's room first." Devon nodded. Cindy then follows Ruby to her room.
Tok tok tok tok
"Ruby, can Auntie come in?" Cindy shouted from outside.
Ruby walked closer to the door and opened the hinge. "Come in, Aunt."
"You why the hell? Back and forth was not as excited as that," asked Cindy.
"Jaden tu Tan, really bad," he said.
"You guys always fight when you meet, don't hate it later even become love you know," led Cindy while chuckling.
"Tante," whined Cindy.
"Why aren't they both handsome, aren't you interested in them?" Ask Cindy. Ruby shakes.
"I am, I am," suddenly Ruby's tongue was confused when she wanted to tell the truth.
Cindy smiled. "Same aunt met at the matchmaking bureau that Auntie founded, when Devon was asking for help Auntie to get a woman within three days to be invited to a wedding party of her friend," cindy remembers meeting her husband for the first time.
"What a lovely aunt, tell me again!" Ruby looked enthusiastic.
"Aunty had introduced several women to him at that time but none of them were suitable according to Devon. Then he offered Auntie as his partner."
"Auntie accepts?" Sela Ruby's.
Cindy shakes. "At first Aunt refused, but Devon offered a high fee, finally Aunt was tempted by the offer," said Cindy honestly.
"So you've been together since?" Ruby's got a good look at Cindy's story.
"No, that's when Devon pretended to be broke to get close to Auntie."
"What reason?" Ruby asked not to understand.
"He wanted to convince himself that this Aunt was a fine woman who was not tempted by her property. Aunty never looks at a person based on his status because Aunt herself comes from an underprivileged family. Since childhood Aunt has been left behind Aunt's parents and only cared for by grandmothers. Even Aunty has to work while in college in order to achieve the ideals of aunt. And Devon was convinced of Aunt after an incident that almost cost him his life but Aunt succeeded him."
Ruby glazed over hearing Cindy's story. "Aunty's story is like in a novel. I think Auntie and Devon introduced someone first. And I'm sorry I hated Auntie for thinking of Aunt Cindy as a barrier to the relationship between Mama and Om Devon. Honestly Aunt, although mama was close to some men but nothing was as good as Devon's om back then."
"Ehem, are you guys talking?" That voice made the two women of different generations look over.
"Wait for the cello below to have dinner together" said the man, who is Cindy's husband.
"All right, we're down. Oh yeah Mas, I heard Tommy and Irene are getting married. Has Tommy told you?" Cindy asked as she went down the stairs.
"Oh yeah? He hasn't delivered the good news yet."
"really?" Devon nodded.
...***...
The time that Tommy and Irene are waiting for is coming in a week. They are busy preparing for their wedding.
However, Irene forgot about someone. "Ah, I haven't given Alan an invitation yet" Irene muttered alone.
After returning home from work Irene took the time to meet Alan. The man had already moved in since he had a new job. The reason is to be close to his current workplace.
"Alan," called Irene when she saw that Alan was about to enter the fence of her rented house. Alan turned his head when he heard a familiar voice.
Alan smiled welcoming the arrival of the woman he liked. They have not met for a long time. That's because Long kept her distance because Irene went back to Tommy.
"Long time no see" said Alan.
"Yes, how are you?" Ask Irene.
"As you can see. What's coming to see me?" Ask Alan enthusiastically.
"I want to give you this" Irene gave Alan an invitation. Alan accepted it with trembling hands. "Are you getting married?" Alan asked with a soft face. Irene nodded quickly.
Alan breathed heavily upon learning the reality he had heard. "Ren, can I be honest with you. I don't want to hold this feeling alone. I liked you a long time ago but I hid it," Alan said honestly while holding Irene's hand.
Irene was glued to her place. "What is this Lan? You're trying to derail my marriage?" Irene said with a trembling tone.
"No, Ren. I don't even expect you to repay my love. I just want you to know that all this time I've loved you. At least you know my true feelings."
Irene still did not expect Alan to like women even though everyday he looks like a woman.
Irene shed tears. "Do you realize that your words make us awkward when we meet again. Do you want me to stay away from you?"
Alan shook his head. "I want us to be as close as ever. But that's not possible because you're also going to marry the man of your choice" Alan said, looking down.
Irene suddenly hugged Alan. "Thank you Lan you have loved me," a moment later the girl unraveled her embrace. "But I can't repay your love. It's enough that we're friends. I love you Lan because we've known you a long time. I don't want our relationship to be strained just because I don't return your love." Alan smiled at Irene's words. Although Irene did not return her love, but she felt relieved to have revealed her true feelings to the woman she loved.
From a distance, someone was watching from a distance. He clenched his hands because he did not like to see the closeness of Alan and Irene.
