Maya shakes. "Please get me a drink!" Irene obeyed Maya's orders.

The woman offered a glass of water to her mother-in-law. "Thank you" said Maya.

"Is there anything else?" Ask Irene.

"No, son. Rest your mama knows you're tired of taking care of me for days." Irene smiled at her in-laws.

"I should have taken care of my mom. I'm sorry I haven't been a good daughter-in-law."

"No, son. I should be the one to apologize to you for wasting your time as your mother's daughter-in-law" Maya said regretfully.

Irene hugged Maya. "Can we be this familiar now. My parents are not beside me. Sometimes I miss them. Can you treat my missus on my parents?" Irene Pinta.

Maya could not hold back her tears because she was moved. "Yes, kid. Mama promised to be a better in-law for you."

Tommy who saw the two became relieved because the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law no longer quarreled. "May you always be familiar like this" said Tommy.

...***...

Devon talks about his wife's proposal to donate to his birthplace. "What do you think you're willing to join me?" Devon asked Tommy.

"Irene also mentioned it once, but I don't know how to channel it. I've been there once but I don't think the track is easy let alone flooded" said Tommy. He remembers when he caught up with Cindy and brought her back to town.

"When are you there?" Devon asked curiously.

Tommy scratched his non-itchy nape. He was afraid to tell Devon the truth. He knew the man standing in front of him would be angry. "When I brought Cindy back to town."

Devon squinted his eyes. "So you ever catch up with him? Is your love for her so great?" Accuse Devon.

"Who told you to ignore him first. I was just trying to help her. Imagine if there wasn't any I Cindy'd been expelled from her village disrespectfully because she was pregnant without a husband."

Deg

Devon's heart felt pinched at Tommy's confession. His face turned grimly remembering himself who had once wasted Cindy. "Yes, you're right. I used to be blinded by jealousy until I ignored it. But now I would never hurt Cindy. I promise you."

"Yes Dev I believe. I wasn't expecting Cindy either because I already had Irene who is now my partner."

"Thank God. How next?" Devon asked about the help.

"How about you just tell Bayu to take care of everything" Tommy proposes.

"Yes you're right."

...***...

At first Devon did not intend to come but considering that Tommy had set foot into Cindy's hometown why he as a husband even did not know about his wife's hometown at all.

"Mas, are you sure you're going there? You don't have to jump straight into the field. You can just order your men" Cindy said.

"I'm just wondering how you used to live" Devon replied casually.

"All right, do I need to come?" Cindy asked for an opinion.

"No, you remember the doctor's message, you can't travel far." Devon poked his wife's nose. Cindy chuckles.

"Do I need to prepare a change of clothes?" Cindy asked her husband.

"I don't think it's necessary. I'll just take a minute to make sure that help gets to the really needy and then I'll go home after that" Devon replied.

"I'm worried about you" Cindy said

"Wait!" Everyone turned their heads when they heard the baritone's voice.

"I'm coming with you guys" said Tommy, gasping for breath as he ran off to catch up.

"Aren't you not willing to come before?" Ask Devon.

"I understand the area better even if I only set foot once. Besides, I want to make sure my in-laws are okay there" Tommy said.

Irene was not calm until Tommy took the initiative to visit her in-laws who were affected by the disaster.

Devon and Bayu looked at each other while holding back a laugh. "Yes sir we should leave now to hunt in the afternoon," Bayu gave advice.

They also got into one car. One more car contained groceries and items that would be donated to flood victims.

The long distance and exhausting make Devon and Tommy fall asleep.

"Sir, we're here." Bayu woke up his superior.

Devon slowly opened his eyes. He looked to the side and Tommy was also asleep. Then he shook Tommy's body to wake up.

But Tommy just moaned. Devon screamed near his ear for the man to wake up.

Tommy covered his ears. "I'm not deaf, Dev," Tommy said, choking in annoyance.

Devon and Bayu chuckled. "Not deaf you say? You've woken me more than ten times you said you weren't deaf?" Sindir Devon's.

Everyone who was in the shelter looked apprehensive in Devon's eyes. Tommy thought the same thing.

"Aren't you the man who came here?" Ask a guy who knows Tommy. Tommy nodded slowly.

"How's Cindy doing? Is she married to you?" Devon clenched his hands at the stranger's question.

Tommy glanced at Devon. Shortly after, Tommy's father-in-law approached.

"Son, when are you here?" Ask Irene's mother. Tommy grabs the woman's hand and kisses her.

"Just now" replied Tommy briefly.

"Who are these?"

"Oh, I forgot to introduce. This is Devon and next to him is his personal assistant, Bayu." Bayu nodded respectfully to Tommy's mother-in-law.

Elsewhere Irma felt tired of having to take care of the store alone. Then he made his complaint to Cindy over the phone.

"What's Irma?" Ask Cindy..

"I think we need additional employees" suggested Irma.

"Yes just open the vacancy through social media must be a quick response," replied Cindy who agreed to Irma's request.

"Yes, you're right. I will try to advertise on my social media," replied Irma enthusiastically.

"By the way is Irene not going back to work with us?" Ask Irma curious.

"Well, as long as Tommy's mother hasn't recovered, I don't think she can go back to work" Cindy replied.

"By the way can I play at your house? I'm lonely because my husband is taking your husband out of town" Irma said.

"Of course I can. Play here and bring nothing. There's plenty of food here."

"Well, after work I'll stop by." After that Irma hung up her phone.
