014. POEGRIYE ISLAND

For the rest of the two weeks, Gumi told me to keep practicing fighting movements, feeling my speed and concentration. He also told me to keep practicing the sword.

Using two swords at once with both hands is still too difficult and I prefer to use one for now. I also still practice throwing daggers quickly and on target.

Actually I really want to practice shooting but we don't have firearms. Gumi said in college I'll learn how to shoot properly because there has a large stock of firearms to study. Perhaps that was one of the reasons why they took the firearms from the treasure hole.

Every day Gumi and I duel with bare hands and with swords. With my bare hands I can't even defeat Gumi but if by the sword several times I managed to make him fall and admit defeat. For almost a month I've been studying all sorts and I'm very happy.

Gumi praised me for being able to learn quickly, but she also said that all the children in this place have a soul of survival so that almost all children in this land of exile can learn very well fast, different from children in a free country. Because of this, the Gyeld Enn Chourius College only accepts girls from the Deapectrum.

“Gumi, after graduation what will you do?” I asked when our last night was because tomorrow Gumi would take me to Poegriye Island. “You heard I'm not Gumi?” I looked to my right where Gumi was lying. “Why didn't you leave Deapectrum?”

“Government will give me a task that I have to do.” Answer Gumi. “Bee..” Suddenly Gumi woke up from her sleeping position. “There's something you should know. Listen to me.” Gumi did not look at me and just bowed her head. “After you get in there forever you'll be bound. There are a lot of rules you have to follow. You won't be able to break up and leave college.”

“What do you mean?”

“Think once again if you really want to go to Poegriye Island.”

“I told you, I'll be there no matter what.”

“Good. Hope you're not sorry.” Gumi looked at me.

Early in the morning Gumi and I left the hut to go to Poegriye Island. Walk towards the north which is lower temperature. Filled with forest and fog so that vision can not see far there.

“What's still far?” I was tired because we had been walking for almost three hours. “I'm tired, can we rest first?”

“No! We have to keep going. We'll be on the river soon.” Gumi looked at me who was walking behind her. “If you stay here then you will freeze to death because of that we must keep moving. You understand?”

I just kept quiet and kept trying to walk because I really felt tired and cold because I was just wearing another thin shirt with no protection.

“This is the valley of Sraet which means tears because in this place you will not be able to cry even if you try hard to shed your tears. Looks like the cold temperature makes it difficult for you to shed tears.” Gumi Seru. “By the way tell me how Jatnera looks? If not on Poegriye Island I would have stayed in your hut, who knew your sister would have come looking for you.”

“His eyes are big like a cat. She is a beautiful child who still looks beautiful even though she is crying. His eyeballs are black, very black like charcoal.” I said while recalling how Jatnera looks like. “Tell me if you find him.”

“Alright.” smile Gumi while rubbing my head. “We're here.”

I raised my head to look ahead because I just looked down at my steps. The river stretched out in front of us and not too far away was a large island with magnificent buildings inside.

In front of us was a boat with a middle-aged man with a bright brown boy. They told us to get on the boat. I just followed Gumi who stepped up to the small paddle boat.

The green-eyed boy sitting in front of me kept looking at me so much that I felt bad. I tried to sit down without paying attention to his gaze. Gumi looked so happy when she saw the building she called her home. I know that building is Gyeld Enn Chourius College.

“Are you nervous?” Gumi who was sitting next to me asked without looking at me. “You must be nervous. I was also nervous when I first came here.” Gumi. “By the way what are you carrying?”

“Good.” Gumi took the bottle and put it in her bag. “No more valuables?”

I nodded in answer. Actually I lied because I was still carrying a necklace belonging to the boy I stole. I can't leave it or leave it to Gumi. I'll take it without even taking it out and not show it to anyone.

For thirty minutes we rode the river. When I got to Gumi and I got off the boat, I could still feel that the boy on the boat was still watching me.

I don't know what he meant and why he kept looking at me. Gumi and I continued walking towards the magnificent buildings with various colors that were not far away.

“The boy can't talk.” Gumi Seru.

His statement surprised me and again I was also surprised why Gumi said that to me.

“The boy always looked at all the girls brought to Poegriye Island. I've never heard him make a sound, I'm pretty sure he's mute.”

“What is his father?” My toot.

“Yes. His family was born into slavery. His father and mother are slaves here. But two years ago his mother died.” Answer Gumi. “His name was Ekman and the boy was named Ian. He's a handsome boy but he's a slave so don't fall in love with him. You understand Bee?” After saying that Gumi laughed happily.

I was silent and did not want to respond to Gumi's rant. To be honest I really hate the nature of Gumi who always laughs not in time but yes that's her nature. I feel sorry for that boy. Our age is not much different.

After walking for about ten minutes we reached the gate of the Gyeld Enn Chourius college. We entered a yard that was about a kilometer wide. There are about ten large buildings with various shapes and colors.

In the middle of the building stood a giant snake-shaped statue of a black snake with one eye. I was horrified when I passed the statue. I felt that if the statue could live maybe we would die on the stampede. The one-eye snake statue must be the emblem of this college.

The statue-like image was also engraved under Gumi's back neck as a sign of graduation.

Gumi walked towards the building on the left. There was not a single person in sight, the atmosphere was very quiet and only the roar of the wind was heard. It gives me a little creep.

Getting into the building amazed me because inside this building looks so magnificent. There are a lot of paintings on the walls that are white. My eyes surrounded the entire corner looking at some of the sculptures that looked so artistic.

“Gumi..” Suddenly a woman came up from the stairs. The woman came down to us. “It turns out to be true it was you. I didn't think you were coming home fast.” Excited the woman in glasses whose hair is almost covered with gray hair. The woman hugged Gumi. “What's up? Did you get your first assignment? And who is this kid?”

“No bu Bianca, I'm here for dropping off this kid.” Gumi replied with a smile on her face. “He will take the entrance exam. Bee, he is the person in charge here.”

“Halo bu.” Sapaku tried to smile but my face stiffened to do so.

“Really? Where'd you find him?” Ms. Bianca watched me from top to toe. “You'd better meet mom, you know the rules here?” After saying so, Bianca walked over and asked us to follow her.
