015. COLLEGE ENTRANCE EXAM

We entered a room in which there was a beautiful woman even though she was old. I guess the woman was about fifty years old yet she still looked healthy and beautiful.

The woman sat in the chair behind the table. Gumi was standing next to me while Bianca's mom was standing near the woman. I'm guessing she's called 'Mother', head of Gyeld Enn Chourius.

I noticed a book on the table. I have the same book and have read it. In fact it was my favorite book because it covered beautiful places all over the country. The book is called The Beauty of the World. Because it was also the book that made me really want to get out of Deapectrum and visit those beautiful places.

“How's mom?” Tanya Gumi tried to break the atmosphere as a moment of silence enveloped this room. “Mother still looks beautiful.”

“How about your duty, Gumi?” Mom exclaimed looking at Gumi with flat eyes. “You haven't made the report yet, have you?”

“Begini ma'am, I'll make a report later.” Gumi looked nervous. “Actually my destination is here to deliver this girl.”

“Gumi wants this kid to take the entrance exam.” Add Bu Bianca.

“You know the rules?” Excited Mom with a high tone. “You just passed and you can't recommend or bring a child to take the entrance exam. After all this year we already have thirty-six children who will take the exam and that is already too much. You understand right?”

“But mom, please help..”.

“I beg madam, let me take the entrance exam..” I cut Gumi's words. “I want to really study at this college.”

Mother looked at Gumi after hearing my words and turned her eyes back to me. “What's your reason for wanting to join here?”

“I want... I want to live,” My answer looks into his eyes. “I want to survive and do not want to live in fear.” I tried to convince her that I really wanted to take the entrance exam. “Sometimes later I want to visit a place called Archie Island in the country of Fansidokia which is discussed in the book.” I pointed to the book in front of my mother.

“You've read this book?” Mother picked up a red book written by a man named Angel L. Whites.

“Yes, I also have the book.” Immediately I took the same book from the bag I was carrying and showed it. “From all the places in this book I really want to go to that place. Archie Island which is at the top of the Evertnes mountain which has such a beautiful view.”

“So you can read, Bee?” Gumi looked surprised as she looked at me. “Why didn't you ever tell me?”

“You never ask. The Isbell that took care of me was a teacher before he was banished to Deapectrum and he taught me to read.”

“How's mom, this is great right?” Excited Gumi looked at Mother who was still watching me. “Even all children who come to this place can not read. With this we do not need to teach him to read anymore.”

“Good.” Mom said as she leaned her body into the chair. “But you have to keep taking the entrance exam. I won't let you in just because you can read. Ms. Bianca, please take this child to her room with the other girls.”

“Good Mom.” Answer Ms. Bianca.

“But ma'am, Bee shouldn't have to take the entrance exam anymore. She can read while the other kids—”

“It's okay Gumi, I'll take the entrance exam.” My timpal. “Just relax, I'm sure I'll pass the entrance exam.” I continued staring at Gumi.

“Alright Bee, come with me.” Bu Bianca Called.

Ms. Bianca told me to sit in one seat at the very back, after which she exited the room. I just bowed my head because I didn't want to see some girls looking at me. Some kids whisper about me.

Talking about my long black hair that is braided into one and there are also those who are mocked if I look very dull because the shirt I am wearing already looks so dirty.

“My name is Cleverlly, what is your name?” Suddenly a boy sitting next to me greeted me. I lifted my head and looked to the right where the girl was sitting. “Call me Cleve, I'm eleven years old.what's your name and how old are you?”

For a moment I watched the girl who greeted me. The boy had white skin and short black hair. He smiled at me, revealing his rabbit teeth. The boy looks so sweet.

“I'm Klay-Bee, but I'm called Bee, I'm ten years old.”

The girl named Cleverlly shifted her chair closer to me. “I hope we can be friends.” he said.

Hearing him I remembered Gumi's words that prevented me from making friends with anyone here.

“You want to?”

“Iya.” I replied by trying to smile.

“Hopefully we both pass the entrance exam,” Cleve said. “About what kind of entrance exam is it? Do you know, Bee?”

I'm shaking.

After waiting for almost two hours we were taken to a place with our eyes closed and hands tied. My body trembled in fear of the entrance exam. What kind of exams will we take?

Me and the other girls were told to stand up without knowing where we were. The wind felt so strong that it hit me. I just stood there without knowing how. They untied our hands. Cleve called my name and after that I could feel his hand holding mine. Holding hands, I feel better.

“Incoming test will be starting soon,” Sounded Bu Bianca's voice. Cleve was clasping my hand even tighter. “The rules are easy, you just need to run until someone stops you, the problem is when running you have to avoid various kinds of objects in front of you.”

“As for info, the objects are thorns, nails, there are even some mines that will explode if you step on.” This time I heard my voice. “So the luck factor is tested here.”

“Remember you only need to run after the sound of gunfire. But you will not be able to run again after hearing many times the sound of gunfire and we will not tell you when we will shoot many times it.” Bianca explained. “Remember to just run, and find your luck by throwing away the fear of death.”

Not long after that, things went quiet again. Cleve and I are still holding hands. We just fell silent while waiting for the sound of gunfire, the cue for us to run. Cold sweat came out and made my body tremble even more.

Suddenly a gunshot sounded. It was still quiet for a moment because I did not hear footsteps. Cleve pulled his hand from my grasp and it made me even more nervous. Then I heard footsteps that I believed were Cleve's footsteps. After that I started to hear a few footsteps while I was still silent.

I was confused as to how because I did not want to die from stepping on a mine yet I also did not want to fail this entrance exam. I had to run immediately because I didn't know when the multiple shots started. I shut up for a moment and heard the situation around. I did not hear the sound of children in pain stepping on thorns or nails, nor did I hear the sound of mine blasts.

Suddenly I heard a voice, a voice coming from the cock of the gun. That means it's not long before the shots are many times it'll start. I've been determined to get into Gyeld Enn Chourius college and I don't want to fail the entrance exam.
