Hiruzen's Headache

Today was a very stressful day for Hiruzen. These past few days he had to deal with the kumo envoy for peace talks. The envoys led by the head ninja kumogakure constantly make unreasonable demands. Hiruzen and the council stalled and peace talks did not develop in the slightest. 

Now he had received alarming news. The same ninja chief and several other envoys have kidnapped prince hyuga. Worse, none of them survived the encounter. Most of them were killed by members of the hyuga clan. However, the worst part of it all is the death of the ninja head at the hands of a four-year-old boy named Tomoka!

Hiruzen groaned as he sipped his tea trying to ward off the terrible headaches caused by this incident on him. First of all, how did Tomoka get involved? Why is he involved? No one knows the answer. 

The boy lay unconscious at Konoha's main hospital. His body was covered in Lichtenberg figure-shaped scars. Once again the boy's body became a mystery. When Hiruzen went to visit, he could clearly see how the scar became lighter by the second. By the time he left, they were barely visible. But that's not the point. 

Somehow, the boy managed to kill the head of the ninja with a lightning release jutsu, or at least that was what the autopsy stated. Hiruzen had seen the corpse, at least horribly. His mind was wondering how such a youngster could do something like that. The shadow of Kyuubi appeared for a moment in his mind but he threw it away. The beast was sealed. 

After all, nothing was a problem, or rather not the main problem. The real problem was the remaining messengers. How could he deliver the news that some of them were killed? This was more than enough for Konoha to call for war. He won't let that. Too many lives have been lost. 

A new headache arises when Hiruzen thinks of his old friend Danzo. His vision and Danzo is like water and oil. Knowing the man, Hiruzen was confident he would try and push for another war. Now that both Danzo and Tomoka were on his mind, an even stronger headache appeared. 

The fact that Tomoka is also a jinchuriki is not known by the council and by Danzo. He had made sure to hide the information, making some of the ninjas who accompanied him on that fateful day shut up. He knew it was a risk but he believed it was the right decision. Even more so with how abnormal Tomoka was. 

In the end the best he could do was to put Naruto into an orphanage. As for Tomoka, she does not and will never reveal it as a jinchuuriki unless absolutely necessary. The girl has proven to be very skilled. Not to mention he might have a new kekkei genkai that has never been seen. That was enough to get Danzo's attention. Hiruzen did not even want to think about what Danzo would do if he realized that he was also a jinchuriki. 

Now the girl is in the spotlight after she kills the head ninja Kumo. An adult jounin is killed by a four-year-old girl. Even Hiruzen had trouble convincing himself. Although he knew that the head of the ninja was not the most skilled jounin, he was still a jounin. 

“I'm too old for this” 

Sighing, Hiruzen leaned back in his chair looking at the seal. One by one problems would appear on his desk before he could fix the previous one. He was tired of playing this political game all the time. Especially against his cunning rival. In Hiruzen's mind, Danzo was a necessary evil for Konoha. Ignoring the incitement of the man's warmongers, his cunning skills and intelligence gathering are essential for the Konoha.

“Supremely, I only need to deal with one thing at a time. First and foremost, I need to find a way to prevent war ” 

With that said, Hiruzen returned to his job. Think about possible problems that may arise during the conversation and how best to approach them. He knew that tonight was going to be a very, very long night.

“I really want to retire”
