Other World Chimera
Become Human

Tomoka opened her eyes again. The pain penetrated his pupils as they contracted rapidly due to the light. The next thing that attacked his sensitive senses was the strong disinfectant smell and the annoying beep of the machine.

“Ugh, this sucks. Looks like I'm in hospital” groaning Tomoka moved her aching body. Everything hurt, from his bones to his muscles, shit, even his own nerves somehow ached. It felt as if all the cells in his body had sprung up only to be rebuilt and appear again.

After a while the hypersensitivity subsides, although the pain persists. Looking around, Tomoka saw most of the empty room. On his left was a heart rate monitor, the source of the disturbing beep. To his right was a large window letting the morning sunlight into his room.

Tomoka who sighed decided to examine his body. Last he knew he was supposed to be burned into ugly kid-shaped coal. After moving to and fro and examining under her medical gown, she came to the conclusion that she was fine.

The only thing that caught his attention was the faint scar shaped Lichtenberg figure all over his body. They were so faint that he almost missed them. Releasing the ******, Tomoka was grateful her body not only painted many black tattoo-like marks all over her body. Looking at his right arm that had that tattoo-like mark, Tomoka could not help but smile wryly.

Letting his body fall again on the soft bed he began to think about his actions. Why did he have to act from the beginning? In the cannon, Hinata is saved by her father. Yes it causes a lot of problems because of political bullshit but that's not the case.

There was also the fact that he was in too much of a hurry. He doesn't need to beat Kumo-nin, stalling for others to come is a smart move. Last but also very important is the fact that he does not use his air style. Using wind bullets would be very useful.

Overall, the adrenaline blinded him. The fear of death blinded him. In conclusion, he needed more training, but on top of that, he needed experience. He may be smart, inventive, and skilled. However, it did not eliminate the fact that this was his first time participating in a life and death fight.

Tomoka isn't stupid, she knows that being a shinobi will involve murder, much of it in fact. He hoped to feel some regret or something after his first murder, yet he remained calm. No regrets, no guilt. There was no satisfaction either, so at least he knew he was not a psychopath.

The man may have a family, ambitions, and whatever, but he doesn't care. To him, that man was the same as every person out there on the streets he didn't know. Another face was lost in the sea of humans. Everything could die for everything he cared about and he wouldn't even look twice.

'I wonder if I'm still human. I wonder if it is normal for humans to think like this. What does it mean to be human?' A philosophical question that has no real answer. Are humans defined by their genetic code? Or through their social interactions? Both? or maybe something else.

[Who cares if you. Humans are disgusting after all. You are you and that's what matters, right?] Kurama was annoyed when she heard Tomoka say. To him, it doesn't matter. So what if Tomoka is no longer human? He's not human either. She would rather Tomoka return to her slightly deranged self than this depressed version of herself.

'You know what? You're right, I'm not even from this world so at this moment, who cares? I will just do whatever I want as I have been doing for a while now. Although I still need to improve a lot in order not to die. Thank you Kurama' Therefore, Tomoka closed her eyes with a smile on her face.

[Goodly, now can you come in here. There's a strange object floating here and I don't know what it is]

'A what now?' The smile that formed on Tomoka's face instantly stiffened.
