The Passion of the Segara

The Passion of the Segara
Eps. #11 Citizen's Flip

It has been a month since Mr Imran found Segara in the middle of the sea and helped him.

Segara has not regained his memory. Although Mr. Imran continued to try to find out about various related information about Segara, but he never got it. The lack of treatment also worsened Segara's memory condition, making it more difficult to remember his past.

The fishing village is so remote that it is difficult for them to get information from the outside world, especially technology has not reached the village area. People there are also very rarely use a cell phone only a few people who use it and even then will only get a network if they go to the city.

The life of the people in the village still holds the paradigm that the sea is everything so that their livelihood is very dependent on the sea, they are difficult to accept the development of the outside world. Most of the population has been hereditary traditional fishermen but very brave to explore the ocean and touch the ocean womb including Mr. Imran.

Mr. Imran is a very experienced fisherman, although still using a very traditional way of catching fish, he was able to get a lot of catch while fishing. From Mr. Imran Segara also learned a lot about the life of fishermen there, he even went to sea several times with Mr. Imran. He is also very adaptable to the people around him who incidentally are friendly villagers and really like to help each other.

But behind their hospitality, there are still many of them who continue to ask about who really Segara to Mr. Imran and Pearl. The reason those who say that Segara is a distant relative is sometimes less acceptable to some close residents there, the article had never before seen a relative visit their home.

That morning after going to sea Segara joined the market to sell fish with Pearl.

"Your brother is diligent, Ra. Come to sea and sell all these fish!" said a woman who also happened to be selling fish caught by her husband with Pearl.

"Already diligent, handsome anyway!" add the woman again.

Pearl just smiled in response to the praise of the woman who was seen constantly watching Segara who was busy sorting out the type of fish milk that he would sell to suppliers.

"If I haven't got a husband yet, I'd love your brother, I swear he's so handsome!" the woman still continues to chatter expressing her admiration for Segara.

"Who told you to rush into marriage, Tin?" pearl sneer to the woman named Tatin, who was a school friend before but now he is married and has a child.

"You don't know the habits of this village, Ra! sixteen-year-old woman here is already obliged to marry, only you are at home to become a spinster until now!" katilah.

Mutiara only replied with a smile without giving an answer, said the old maid was very common in hearing from other residents in the village who like to sneer at her like that.

"Ra, this is a fish that is not worth selling!" Segara approached her with a plastic bag and handed it to Pearl.

"The other fish sold everything, huh, Bang?" ask Pearl while grabbing the plastic bag from Segara's hands.

"Already, Ra! this box is empty!" Segara tidied up all the boxes of fish storage boxes that were empty. "Let's open the shop now!" bring him. Segara lifted all the boxes of fish towards the stall owned by Pearl.

"Tin, I'm first...! I'm gonna open the shop first! there are many people in line!" The pearl does not forget to say goodbye to his friend Tatin who is still in place and still busy with fish.

"Yes, Ra!" sahut Tatin was short but he still continued to pay attention to Pearl and Segara who had walked left him in that place.

"Pearl is too stupid to think only Segara is a brother away, it deserves her to be her husband. Diligent, polite and very handsome! All women would feel very lucky to have a husband like Segara" tatin grumbled and muttered to himself.

"Why, Tin? do you have a crush on that guy?" ketus a young man while patting Tatin's shoulder and instantly made Tatin surprised.

"E.e.no, Bang! I'm already your wife, how could I possibly have a crush on another man?!" Tatin chuckled, but the man who was none other than her husband just smiled cynically at Tatin.

In the village is indeed most of its citizens married at a very young age, some are even underage. School is not a priority there. Only Pearl girl who is still single there at her age now, her friends are all married and have children, she said, because of that, Pearls are often mired by residents who like to call it an old virgin when she was just twenty years old.

Arriving at the stall, Mutiara and Segara were immediately preoccupied by several buyers who had started to arrive. There are those who order coffee and there are also those who want to immediately make instant noodles. Segara has been helping Pearl in his stall for a few days, he also looks very deft to help cook hot water and also wash the furniture. Although Arkha was once a wealthy man, he was a hard worker. Maybe the habit was unknowingly still carried, even though Arkha only knows himself as a Segara.

"Ra, that's your husband, right? when did you get married? You weren't invited?" A fisherman man gave a sneer mocking Pearl.

"Not Bang, he's my distant brother!" replied Pearl while presenting a cup of coffee ordered by the fisherman.

"Brother far away but live one house? it could be that slander, Ra!" sahut another fisherman.

"Mending you guys get married! Aren't you tired of being a spinster, Ra?" the fisherman returned.

"Marriage to one's own brother, Bang?" elak Mutiara responded to the fisherman who kept teasing and mocking him.

"Well, my cousin is Mahram, Ra! so it's legal if you get married! it's just a distant cousin, right?" Another man interrupted their conversation.

"Yes rather than just being a spinster mending marriage! marriage is good, Ra!" they all chuckled and laughed at the same time.

Pearl was just smiling in response to all the ridicule and scorn from the fishermen who had become a subscription in the stall.

Segara was just silent he did not know how to respond to all the taunts, he chose not to chim for fear of misspeaking with his condition who did not know anything about him.
