The Passion of the Segara

The Passion of the Segara
Eps. #58 Three Years Later

The movement of time is still the same, twenty-four hours in a day, sixty minutes for an hour, also sixty seconds in a minute.

No one knows where time goes, which surely day after day goes by, month after month keeps changing without pause, and the clock turns so fast.

Three years have passed after Arkha managed to reclaim his company and bring Alfin into permanent detention.

Alfin's mistake, which has been managing the company for a year, made Arkha have to work hard for the past three years to restore the proforma of his company. Slowly but surely, the legacy of his late Papa is now back at the peak of his success.

Ardila's presence in her daily life, makes Arkha try to open her heart again to Livina. Arkha marries Livina and tries to rebuild her run-down household with her childhood best friend who became her first love. However, all that did not immediately make Arkha forget his memories of Pearls. Although his heart assured that every meeting must be accompanied by separation, but not by his memories with Pearl, the woman he still loved so much.

Although only in memory, Pearl is still the only woman still in her heart, this also makes Arkha can no longer love Livina with all her heart. Married to Livina he did it solely for the sake of Ardila, his beautiful and very dear little daughter.

That day, Arkha left his office early, but he didn't go straight home. Arkha drives his black SUV to the beach where he often spends his twilight there. Before arriving at the beach, as usual he would stop by to buy a few stalks of red roses first.

The sun was tilted towards the west when Arkha reached the shore, and he immediately set foot on the sand. Waves also faithfully greet his feet, Arkha sat alone there, only accompanied by a breeze that also always faithfully touched his face and hair. Many people passed by in front of him, but Arkha did not care at all.

"Pearl, it's been three years, baby. Today I don't know why I miss you so much" Arkha muttered.

He then sat on the dry sand and threw his gaze into the sea, not realizing that a tear was dripping at the end of his eyes, his gaze was empty, very empty like his mood at that time.

"I'm sure that you and Mr. Imran are now calm there, Ra. Had God given us a second life, I would have liked in future lives destiny would have brought us together again, dear," Arkha said as she placed two stalks of roses on the sand next to her.

For the past three years, Arkha has always done the same thing, whenever he feels homesick for Pearls, he will always go to the beach while throwing roses into the middle of the sea.

"I'm with Livina now, but I can't love her anymore like I used to. My love is only yours, Pearl."

Arkha continued to daydream in that place until the day moved closer to night. The atmosphere was getting darker and the waves were now getting closer to his seat.

Slowly Arkha moved and took back the rose. He then walked over to the center, this time, the rose in his hand was not thrown towards the roll of the waves, but instead, but just put it on the sand and let the waves themselves reach and sweep it away.

After about an hour on the beach. Arkha then walked towards the parking lot and returned to his car.

It has been almost four years Mama Yuna was admitted to the hospital, but there has been no sign of healing that can be seen from the psychic Mama Yuna. The best psychiatrists have also been brought Arkha from all corners of the country even from abroad, but the condition of Mama Yuna still does not show a significant change, arkha became the biggest donor to the hospital.

Arriving at the hospital, all employees, nurses and doctors there welcomed him very kindly. Everyone he met always looked down respectfully, no one dared to look him in the face.

"Where's my mama, Sister?" arkha asked one of the sisters there.

"Mrs Yuna is in her room, sir. Let me take you there," said the nurse was very polite while delivering Arkha to Mama Yuna's nursery.

"How's it going, Sus? is my mom still not eating?" arkha asked again when she arrived at Mama Yuna's nursery and Arkha saw her falling asleep on her bed.

"The more days Madam Yuna is getting harder to eat and take medicine, sir. To the extent that sometimes we have to force her," answered the nurse explaining Mama Yuna's condition which was getting worse.

Arkha only let out a long sigh hearing the nurse's reply, "Mama, until when will mama continue like this, Ma," Arkha muttered.

Arkha approached Mama Yuna and sat on the edge of her bed, holding her cold right hand. Fine strokes were clearly visible on all the surfaces of the woman's skin, her body grew thinner and her face looked extremely shabby.

Arkha rubbed the hair that covered her Mama's face. Arkha's hand also touched an object that was always in Mama Yuna's left hand, a miniature toy of a ship she always carried. Now Netra Arkha was focused on the toy and she smiled wryly looking at it.

"Ma, now that Kaka has grown up, Kaka is no longer playing this toy," whispered Arkha in front of her mother who was still asleep.

"Don't grab my Kaka toy!" sentak Mama Yuna's. Suddenly he awakens and quickly snatches the toy from Arkha's hands. Mama Yuna immediately sat down while hugging her toy tightly and stared furiously at Arkha.

"Go you! go...! I don't want to see you!" throw out Mama Yuna. He pushed Arkha's strong body strongly to immediately leave his room.

Arkha could only take a deep breath at Mama Yuna's condition, and then he stepped out of her room.

His heart was very sad, had various ways he traveled for the healing of his mother, but until then Mama Yuna had not improved, the more days his physical health is also getting worse because he does not eat regularly and has difficulty taking medication.
