The Passion of the Segara

The Passion of the Segara
Eps. #68 Fear of Knowledge

The morning was very bright, the sunlight was so warm it illuminated all corners of the city.

In Arkha's mansion, Livina seems busy preparing breakfast in the dining room. Various types of bread and jam have been served there and a cup of coffee has also been prepared Livina on one side of the table for Arkha.

"Honey, breakfast is ready, let's eat first!" livina shouted to her daughter.

"Yes, now, Mama!" sahut Ardila who was already heading to the dining table was carried by Arkha. Both of them are well dressed, Arkha is ready to go to the office and Ardila is ready with her school clothes.

"Huh, Papa's Angel is heavy now, Papa is no longer strong to carry you!" arkha joked with her daughter while sitting her in one of the chairs in the dining room.

"Lagian Dila is big, why still ask to be carried?" sergeant Livina pinched his child's cheek and Ardila just chuckled.

The little girl was indeed very spoiled towards Arkha, even Ardila was closer to Arkha than with her biological mother Livina.

"Let's have breakfast first so you don't lemes later at school!" livina orders while serving a bowl of cereal to Ardila and the boy immediately bribes his own cereal voraciously.

Arkha also began to enjoy his breakfast by sipping coffee while biting croissant with his favorite butter spread.

Livina sat down on the chair next to Arkha and they had breakfast together.

"Can I ask you something, Kha?" tanya Livina started to open up the conversation between them.

"Yes, what?" Arkha asked back.

"I want to ask for more money, last minute tomorrow my friends will go to Bali" Livina replied. He already knew that Arkha would not refuse his request.

"How much do you need?" arkha's reply while reaching for the phone in her suit pocket was about to transfer the money to Livina's account.

"Not much, ten million only," said Livina lightly, according to him the amount of money must be nothing to Arkha.

Arkha did not reply, but seemed busy playing his finger over the screen of his phone.

"I've transferred" Arkha said briefly as he sipped his coffee again.

Livina just smiled at Arkha's words while also grabbing her phone that was on the table earlier. There is certainly a notification from mobile banking on his phone and shows that the funds transferred by Arkha have been entered into his account.

"Oh yes, Vin. I also want to say something to you" Arkha continued.

"Yes, just say it, Kha."

"Had been in a mental hospital for four years and until now there has been no sign of recovery. I'm planning on taking care of Mama at home."

"What's? taking care of your mom at home?" Livina rounded her eyes, she did not expect that Arkha suddenly wanted to bring Mama Yuna home.

"Well, why, Vin? do you mind?" sosor Arkha's. She wondered why Livina was so shocked when she said she would take care of her Mama at home.

"E..., no! no objection, Kha! it's just that I think Mama should stay in the hospital alone, because if here Mama will not be able to get the best care there," said Livina.

Surely he really did not like when Arkha brought home Mama-in-law who never got along with him.

"You don't have to worry, Vin. I can pay for the best nurse and psychiatrist who can keep you in this house,"

"But I still don't agree that you're taking care of Mama in this house, Kha!" sergeant Livina while shaking her head disagreed.

"Dila Darling, Dila wait in the living room, yeah! after Papa finishes breakfast, Dila leaves with Papa, ok!" livina's orders while carrying a bag of provisions on her daughter's back.

"Good, Mama!" obediently the little girl while kissing Livina's cheeks and hands.

"Wait a minute, baby!" continued Arkha and the little girl immediately ran towards the living room while waiting for Arkha to finish breakfast and will be with him to go to school.

After Ardila leaves the dining room, Livina again shows her disapproval of Arkha's decision to bring her Mama to the house.

"Kha, you saw Ardila, right? she's a little girl, she doesn't understand anything, so I don't agree that you brought Mama home before she was completely healed!" emphatically.

"What's wrong with all that, Vin?"

"Do you know, if Mama was in this house, all of Ardila's friends would have mocked her, they would have bullied our daughter and told her she was the granddaughter of a madman!" ketus Livina is getting unhappy.

"Ok, well Vin, I'm not gonna force you if that's your excuse." Arkha only nodded her head at Livina's reasoning which sounded quite acceptable to her common sense, so she undoed her intention of bringing her Mama home. Besides all this time in the hospital, Arkha has also provided the best facilities for Mama.

Livina smiled cunningly and was pleased that she had already managed to influence Arkha.

"It's a good thing that Arkha wants to cancel her plan to bring Mama Yuna into this house," she said.

"Huh... Lest the old woman recover, if she could remember and tell Arkha everything, my life would be in great danger, Arkha would definitely put me in jail as well as Alfin!" grunts in the heart.

Livina sighed deeply, suddenly she felt very worried when her lie was exposed by Mama Yuna as she recovered from the mental disorder she was suffering from at this time.

Drrr.t....! Drrr.t....!

Arkha's phone shook the table before him and Arkha quickly grabbed him because she saw a call from Rendy's assistant.

"Yes, Rendy. What's up?" Arkha answered the call

"There's a suspicious cargo ship in our port area, Boss!" sahut Rendy across the street via that phone line.

"What, suspicious ship?" Arkha was shocked to hear a news that Rendy had told him.

"Yes, Boss. From the eyes of my men, it had been there for days but there was no movement at all, I suspected that something was hidden inside the ship!" rendy exclaimed to clarify the news he delivered to his superiors.

"Ok, get all your men ready, we'll check what's on that ship and I'll catch up to the harbor right now!" arkha orders Rendy and then closes the conversation on the phone with Rendy.

Arkha then turned his head towards Livina who was still sitting next to him.

"Vin, today please take Ardila to school, yes! I have a sudden business, I have to get to the port!" pinta Arkha told Livina as she got out of her seat and hurried away from the dining room.

"Papa, are we leaving now?" ardila exclaimed as she watched Arkha pass through the central space.

"Sorry, Honey. Papa has a sudden business, Papa has to go to the port. Today Dila was delivered to Mama ya," said Arkha while kissing the little girl's forehead.

Although disappointed Ardila was silent and did not dare to protest, the little boy understood the busyness of his Papa.

Arkha immediately stepped out of his home and quickly drove his black SUV towards his private enterprise port.
