Segara POVs
A few days after Mr. Imran found and helped me when I crashed into the middle of the ocean, Mr. Imran and Pearl were still taking great care of me, the wound on my body has now started to dry up so that the pain all over my body has also begun to disappear, but I have not been able to remember anything about who I am and also my past.
I felt very lucky to meet good people like Mr. Imran and Pearl who really helped me, even though I also realized they were just a simple family and their lives were in short supply.
Not wanting to be too much of a burden for Mr. Imran and Pearl, I also started to help with some light work. Like helping Mr. Imran fix a fishing net and prepare his boat before he goes to sea. Today I also woke up at dawn, I really want to help Pearl go to the market to sell fish caught by Mr. Imran.
When Mr. Imran's boat had just returned from the sea, I lifted the fishing net and took out all the fish storage boxes from the boat.
But Mr. Imran and Pearl prevented me from going to the market.
"Bang Gara don't have to go to the market, Bang! let me just, I'm used to doing this myself!" Pearl refused when I wanted to go with her to sell the fish.
"But it's heavy, Ra! you caught quite a lot today, so let me help you get him to the market!" although Pearl forbids me but I still force.
"Don't, Bang! your wounds haven't fully healed yet you'd better stay home first!" The pearls refused.
"Yes right said Mutiara Gara, you do not need to help him first, besides this place will be very crowded, you should just go home!" mr Imran's orders chimed in.
Indeed, what is feared by Mr. Imran and Pearl is not that I am still not fully healed, but they are reluctant to answer the questions of people who will definitely ask who I am, he said, because all this time they only lived alone and their relatives lived very far from the village.
Realize that, I did not force anymore and I walked away leaving the two of them who were still busy lifting their fish box to the fish market not far from where Pak Imran's boat landed.
I didn't go straight home like Pearl and Imran ordered but I stepped into a big tree not too far from the market. Under the tree was a wooden bench and I sat there myself. From that place I can freely pay attention to the activities of people who have begun to be crowded in the market and then the passing of fishing boats that alternately dock because they all just returned from the sea.
My eyes never escaped the Pearl. The sweet girl was used to selling all her fish to fish suppliers who always came there to buy fish from fishermen. The fish will be sorted first according to the type and size. Some of the fish that were not worth selling were collected and brought home to be cooked that day.
After all the fish were sold, Mutiara went straight to the stall that had been opened by Mr. Imran and began selling for fishermen who had just returned from the sea who wanted to find breakfast there. The store was immediately crowded with buyers, assisted by Mr. Imran, Pearl looks very dexterous in serving its customers, but the crowd was only a short time, but, because the fishermen just stop there to just look for breakfast or just drink coffee. After that they will immediately go home to unwind after a night on the high seas.
In my heart I admire the simplicity of the Pearl. Although still very young, he is so responsible, working hard to help Mr. Imran in making a living for his daily life.
To be honest, I am still very confused about myself. I keep thinking about who I really am. On the one hand I really want to remember everything about myself but on the other hand I am very afraid to know the truth about myself.
"Who am I?" the question was always in my head but I couldn't remember anything at all.
"What if it turns out that I'm actually a fugitive who may be currently being pursued by the police?" I really don't dare to imagine that.
"Then if I'm not a criminal why can I drift in the middle of the sea? did anyone intentionally harm me, wasn't I wearing a life jacket when Mr Imran found me?"
"If I got carried away by the ocean because of a ship accident, why just me and no other victims? Why isn't there any shipwreck or any other evidence near me? Why isn't anyone looking for me?"
Suddenly my head ached deeply as I tried to remember everything about myself and I pressed my own forehead nekan while grimacing with the unbearable pain.
I took a deep breath and then I exhaled slowly. I tried to calm myself down to relieve my terrible headache, I rested my back on the bench and I looked at the vast expanse of sea before me. Sometimes I close my eyes while continuing to take a deep breath and I exhale again, finally all of it can slightly reduce my headache.
I was still sitting under the tree and without feeling now the hot sun that was getting higher hit my body. The sea breeze disguised the heat of the sunburn on my skin. I still pay attention to all the activities in the stall owned by Mutiara which is now starting to look lonely. In that area, there is only one stall, namely Pearl stalls, because other stalls are mostly near the market, only Pearl stall is the closest to the beach but not too far from the dock.
I got up from my seat and slowly walked towards the Pearl Stall.
The pearl who was busy washing the old coffee mug and the noodle bowl looked surprised when I was already nearby.
"Loh Bang Gara didn't come home?" he asked while looking at me in wonder.
"I was sitting under that tree earlier, I was lazy to go home by myself, because you forbid me from helping you!" like that's my reason. And the pearl just smiles.
"Father hurried home, he said there was business to go to the sub-district!" mutiara said while tidying up her cup and bowl.
"Father also went to find information about Abang, who knows if anyone is looking for Bang Gara or what news is related to you, Bang! Understand the internet and GSM network only up to the sub-district city, here is very remote away from the touch of Bang technology!"
"You guys bought medicine for Bang Gara too." Pearls continued to chatter explaining the purpose of Mr. Imran going to the sub-district city that day.
I only replied with a nod of the head, there was anxiety in my heart when Mr. Imran found information about me and it turned out that it was information that did not match my expectations.
"If I turn out to be a criminal in pursuit of the police how is Ra? You're also bound to get dragged in for hiding a fugitive, right?" I'm full of worries.
Yet the Pearl just smiled in response to my worries.
"Bang Gara has been in our house for several days, and all that time there was no sign that Brother was a bad man. I'm not afraid of that at all, Bang!" the answer is like no burden.
I then sat down on a chair in the stall and to be honest, I was deeply moved to hear Pearl's reply, in addition to willingly giving me a ride in their house, Pearl and Mr. Imran also never thought that it could be that I was an evil person, they were very sincere in helping me.
"Bang Gara, can I make you some coffee?" The pearl came to me because he had finished washing all his cups and bowls, the stall was deserted no longer there was a shopper there.
"Can!" I answered while nodding my head.
Pearls immediately make a cup of coffee and serve a few pieces of fried sweet potato leftover that is not sold. I've been living with them for a few days and my stomach is getting used to receiving food cooked by Pearl.
"What are you cooking for lunch, Ra?" I asked again, because usually if the stall is empty Pearl will cook lunch for Mr. Imran and also me in the stall.
"There's some fish leftover from the supplier, Bang, I want to make pepes!" The pearl opens a plastic bag that contains several types of fish in it.
Slowly I approach the Pearl, "may I help clean the fish?" I asked while grabbing the plastic bag.
"No need to bang, let me!" reject it.
"You just make the season there, let me clean this fish!" I keep persuading.
"Are Bang Gara able to clean this fish?" tanyanya doubt.
I just smiled in response to his doubts and I grabbed the fish and started cleaning it. I don't know why I feel so familiar with the types of marine fish.
"Does my job have anything to do with the fish before?" a glance there was that question running through my mind.
