Re:START/If {Book 1.0}
Chapter 55: Aswad 2 of 15 “To Be Hire” (Part 03)

“You are indeed demons!!”

The words of the brunettes bounced loudly at the front headquarters of the combined forces of the factions. After returning from the battlefield and landing on the field with large tents lined up around it, the child they saved from the battlefield actually absorbed the Fairy Soldiers.

“What a fairy!! You guys look more like demons!! I will never forgive you! What is our fault?! You are not honorable soldiers! I'll kill you! I will definitely kill you! I SWEAR ON BEHALF OF THE PEOPLE YOU'RE KILLING IN THE CITY!! YOU WILL DEFINITELY DIE IN MY HANDS!!”

The boy's loud voice made all the soldiers guarding the fort look at him, curious as to why the little boy seemed to be able to put on such a deep hateful expression and say so. Some Fairy Soldiers looked anxious with grudges directed at them, especially the pale green-haired Elf who directly gave the order to use magic into the orphanage building without first checking anyone inside.

The green-haired sergeant shakily stepped forward and was about to explain, but he was stopped by his superior. Looking up and staring at the subordinate, Laura said, “What do you want? Apologizing?”

“I-It ...”

“You think the sin of taking a life will be lost with it? You think the kid will forgive you?”

The pale green hair elf fell silent, turning his eyes away without being able to argue. Realizing that his subordinates did indeed have such a nature despite often plunging into battle, Laura simply sighed and immediately stared flatly at the small Di’in. The Fairy Soldier whose palms were bandaged walked over, standing in front of the child who was not even 100 centimeters tall.

Di’in directly ran with his right fist ready to punch. While swinging his punch, he shouted, “Maaaatii—!! Ugh!”

Laura immediately looked up at the little boy's face, making him slam to the ground and his nose bleed. Walking closer, the Lieutenant again kicked Di’in in the face until some of his teeth came off and curled up trembling in pain. Picking up the little boy and forcing him to stand up, Laura slapped his left cheek hard.

“Kill us? Not forgiving us? Do you have a right to that? Huh?!” Approaching a face and glaring sharply, Laura firmly said, “In this world only those who have the rightful ability, the weak can only follow the obligations imposed on them .... You understand, rancid boy?”

That gaze really made Di’in tremble, his hatred quickly turned into fear and instinctively he understood it was impossible to defeat the Elf woman before him. Removing the little boy's hair and letting him kneel down, Laura simply stared low with a flat expression.

“If you really want to kill us, I don't mind .... Enter the military, hone your skills, achieve achievements with contributions until your status can reach us...” Turning around and stepping away leaving the girl, Laura gave a quick glance and said, “I'll wait for your claws and fangs to be sharp .... Kill us if you can.”

That word made Cornelisa Di’in decide to enter the military, especially to the Technology Development and Research Faction (PTP) which is where the Fairy Soldiers came from. Feeling ironic and miserable, the little boy trained his skills and knowledge with the group that killed his loved ones.

However, without a chance to show the results of his training or challenge Lieutenant Laura, one and a half years after the tragedy of the Elimination of the City the turbulent civil war in the kingdom of Moloia ended. On the terms put forward by the Military Faction that acknowledged its defeat in the civil war, The Special Forces Platoon consisting of Fairy Soldiers had to be broken up and its members dispersed to other Factions on the grounds of maintaining the balance of power.

Laura as the greatest power is forced into the Military Faction, restricted in her movements and formally banned from using Parva Nuclear magic which is considered a weapon of mass destruction. After the dissolution of the special forces belonging to the PTP Faction and its members were dispersed to other factions, a new unit was formed that was fully contained by the human race for political reasons.

Members of the PTP Special Unit are drawn from children who lost their families in the war, are fewer members and tend to be an intel agency than the military openly. They were taught directly by one of the Super Intelligent A.I in the PTP Faction, Rhea, to be able to use magic assimilation weapons despite not having a strong magic activation like the Elves.

Ironically from this — Di’in who initially entered the military to avenge the Fairy Soldiers, he instead had to replace the emptiness of the people he hated the most. He unknowingly owns a new home, a new family, and people he wants to protect in the unit. Then in the end, the vengeful child becomes a Lieutenant in the unit and becomes Rhea's confidant on the front lines.

[Year 2,699 of the Pendulum Calendar, At the Present Time]

Within the border forest between the Mylta and Rockfield territories, a reunion of two people who should not be reunited occurs. The gunpoint at the back of his head made Di’in speechless, glancing at who was aiming the weapon and stunned in a mixed feeling. Although he could go back to see the person who was the target of his revenge, strangely the anger did not stir in the mind of Di’in and even himself filled with anxiety on Ra’an who really lost consciousness.

The half moon that shines brightly in the sky becomes the only source of illumination within the evergreen forest. Blowing wind in a starless night creates the sound of friction foliage, silence that makes the cold sweat women brown hair kucir fast flowing. He kept raising both hands back, kneeling down and not making any suspicious movements.

“Why are you here?” tanya Di’in while analyzing the situation.

“You don't need to know ...”

“Did your Princess finally show her true nature like the late troublemaker concubine?”

“You don't need to know.”

“Action you on whose orders? A.I of the Military Faction? Or from your Princess?”

“It's secret ...”

“Tch !”

Di’in began to fall silent, folding both his hands to the back of his head and stopped looking back. But from the words he said, he, he could tell that the people behind him numbered more than five people— It was visible from the number of pairs of eyeballs that seemed to shine in the darkness.

“True .... Don't act rashly, you realize that behind you isn't just me, is it?” said Laura while still holding her rifle to the head of the brown-haired woman.

The former Fairy Warrior Leader slowly walked over, then bowed and was about to pick up Di’in's rifle that was dropped to the ground. Realizing Laura was getting closer, Di’in deftly lowered both hands and turned to elbow the end of the High Elf rifle barrel to change the direction of the shot.

Laura reflexively pulled the trigger and a purple glowing magic bullet shot out, hitting the ground until it was hollow and almost hitting Ra’an's head. Understand that Fairy Soldier shotgun guns can shoot more than once because the bullets used are magic, and, Di’in clutched tightly at the end of the barrel of Laura's weapon and immediately stood to lock it so it could not shoot.

Laura raised her right hand from the rifle and took out the combat knife on the belt behind her waist. At the same time, Di’in also raised his right hand and took something from behind his waist. Laura's movements were faster and she was the first to swing her knife towards the woman's neck with brown hair. But before his neck was cut off, Di’in immediately crossed his right hand and held the knife with an iron tube that he had taken from the belt.

“A—! It!”

“Heh!”

Laura realized that the tube Di’in used to hold it usually contained gunpowder because it came from the same royal military. He gave up the rifle and knife that stuck to the tube, then crossed his hands in front of Laura jumped back and prepared to withstand the explosion.

“No bursting? What is gunpowder?” laura's Mind.

After landing and installing the standby position, Laura quickly prepared a magic and magic circle formed in a small size above her palm.

“Mati!” Di’in threw an iron tube as big as a palm along with a combat knife towards Laura.

With the magic circle ready in the right palm, Laura manipulated gravity to make the iron tube quickly turn sharply to the side until it hit the tree trunk. The sound of an iron clank falling on the stone became a sign for the two of them to re-prepare for their next attack.

After disposing of Laura's magic rifle that she couldn't use, Di’in who had prepared faster picked up the stun grenade on her belt. He pulled the safety and immediately closed his eyes with his left arm, then threw it towards Laura because he realized behind the High Elf had prepared his subordinates who were ready to shoot.

Laura again made a gravitational magic circle on the right palm. He immediately swung his hand to the left to manipulate gravity and swerved the direction of the grenade. However, it was late and—

Dzying!!

Grenade Shock exploded — Luminosity of light and a loud buzzing sound seized the hearing senses as well as the sight of everyone around the blast. Laura's men who were focused on aiming instantly closed their eyes, temporarily blinded and made room for Di’in to move freely without having to pay attention to the corner or use Laura as a shelter.

As the bright light and noise from the grenade disappeared, Di’in immediately opened both eyes. Denging was still creeping into the woman's head, his gaze a little faded because his hearing was completely disturbed until his eardrum was bleeding. Forcing the body to move despite the pain of the vibration still permeating the bone, he took out a Springfield rifle on the ground and pulled its lever to insert the bullet into the shell.

Relying on faded vision and a consciousness that seemed to float away, Di’in aimed at Laura who was within his limited range of vision. But before the brown-haired woman pulled the trigger and finished off the High Elf, without her noticing the bullet of light shot fiercely and pierced through her right shoulder.

“Eh ..?”

Only the sound he heard. The shot hit Di’in's right-hand nerve and left him unable to pull the trigger, dropping his rifle and blood splattering to the ground. As his vision began to improve and looked towards someone standing a few meters behind Laura, Di’in understood why anyone could aim well even in the midst of the effects of the shock grenade.

There stood a Fairy Soldier who used to be a member of the Special Unit during the Civil War, the figure that Di’in hated because it was the cause of death of people in the orphanage where he lived first. Pale green hair, blood red eyes, and pale skin. Although still exposed to the effects of stun grenades, the Fairy Soldier can know the location of Di’in and harvest accurately thanks to the ability of life detection and high-level biosonar.

“Tch! Javelin up!!! Damn ka— !!”

Once again the bullet of light shot fiercely towards Di’in, this time right hit his right chest until it hit the lungs. Blood poured out profusely, he stepped back until his right foot touched Ra’an who was lying unconscious.

His face grew paler, eye bags blackened and signs of lack of blood began to appear clearly. Both of his legs started to limp and in the end knelt down, covering the wound on his right chest with the palm of his hand he stared hatefully at them.

As the effects of the shock grenade dissipated, Laura and her troops immediately went on standby with their respective weapons. As Di’in alleged, they only numbered 8 people including Laura. Half of them were Fairy Soldiers, then the rest were just human race warriors who looked beginner because they were still wearing shotguns without any additional magic or anything like that.

Laura was briefly shocked when she saw Di’in had been shot twice and was completely at the tip of the horn of her condition. As her subordinates were about to pull the trigger and finish Letda off the PTP Faction, Laura raised her left hand and gave the code to withstand the attack.

One of Laura's subordinates who had previously shot Di’in walked up to his superior, standing next to him carrying a shotgun similar to the contact model whose shape was completely modified and assimilated with the user's magic characteristics. At first glance the pale green-haired High Elf showed a guilty expression, wanting to say but his sentence was swallowed back and turned away with regretful eyes.

“Bu-Not echolocation .. will also be interrupted due to sound, Javelin?” tanya Di’in's.

“A—”

“You just shut up, Notmarina ..” Laura held onto the shoulder of her colleague, stared flatly at Di’in and said, “You're learning less! Biosonar is not the ability to detect sound, but to detect it using sound. The frequency of the shock grenade is striking, it is easily removed from perception to change focus to another sound vibration.

Di’in was too limp to think about the difference, he knelt staggering and his consciousness was completely almost gone. Taking the adrenaline serum he had taken from one of the soldiers he had previously killed, with all his remaining strength he injected it into his shoulders and forced his consciousness to rise.

Even so, his body was already too weak and he could not even stand back up. Laura just stared flat, while her colleague, Notmarina, looked with sad eyes as if pitying the woman.

At first glance Notmarina recalled the figure of Di’in who was still small, making it even more unbearable. The elf, nicknamed Javelin, raised his weapon again, channeled Mana from his palm into his rifle and prepared to shoot.

“Laura ..., let me end the suffering,” Notmarina said as she aimed at Di’in's head.

“What ... you guys .. will take everything from me again ..?” Tears poured out with the blood flowing from the woman's wound of brown hair. Only with his left hand still moved did he stretch his hand to the side and say, “What ... will you kill my family again?”
