Re:START/If {Book 1.0}
Chapter 40: Alstroemeria (Part 02)

It was already noon, the sun had already risen above its peak and was starting to slowly descend even though its figure was still closed a little cloudy. The birds began to flap their wings gallantly in the warm sky, various types of Low Level Spirits hover in the garden of Luke— residence with their cargo and make a flickering seven colors above the flowers that are still buds.

Tracing the side terrace and walking on the stone path array towards the library, Odo glimpsed his head towards those Lower Level Spirits and threw a faint smile. Looking back, he immediately headed towards Luke Scientia and opened the door of the 12-story magic library.

Arriving inside, the young man in a white shirt and black pants immediately closed the door and walked in looking for the Great Spirit inhabiting the place. He looked to the right, looked to the left, looked between the bookcases until he looked up to the top floor and the vaulted ceiling of the place.

However, Vil was nowhere to be seen. Sighing in agitation as he was unable to detect the Great Spirit by magic, Odo took a deep breath and shouted, “VIIIL?! Where are you?!”

“Kyaa~!”

Bruak ...!

A falling sound was heard from the direction of the bookcases on the second floor. Squinting, Odo could imagine what was going on. He walked up the stairs, came to Vil on the second floor. Looking at the source of the sound between the cabinets, the Great Spirit fell on his stomach and was crushed by books.

“What is ...?” ask Odo in wonder.

“Having read a book, what else is it? .... What were you screaming for, Odo? I'm surprised because of you, you know ...”

Vil immediately got up from the pile of books, styled his clothes and immediately stood up. Using the magic of hovering — water bubbles appeared around him, he immediately made the scattered books float with him into the air and put them into the empty closet shelves.

The books flew fast, revolving around his body and there were some that floated past Odo to go where the books came from on their respective shelves. Finished arranging everything, the Great Spirit wearing blue Ghagra Choli clothes with the navel open stared flat. Observing Odo and still unfamiliar with the young man's appearance.

“What's ... looking at me so?”

“Neg .... You, is it forever going to be like that? Keep the appearance like that ...?”

“Any, huh? Don't like it?”

“Hmm, likes .... Lovely, even fitting with your attitude and nature.”

“So?”

“Yes .... By the way, what are you going to do this time? I guess you've read almost all of the magic books of this library? Want to find a way to restore your form?”

Vil floated down and stood on the ceramic surface, with his legs barefooted. Her slightly frilled clothes came down, her hood she was wearing also stopped floating. A faint smile was glimpsed from behind the black veil of the woman's blue sea hair, looking happy for several reasons.

“Not,” replied Odo after a glance blown away. Looking back at the woman's eyes, he said, “I just want to offer you something .... Want not you—?”

“Alright, I agree ...”

“Eh?”

Odo was a little surprised because Vil actually answered so quickly. He had predicted it, but hearing it directly was enough to make the young man distrustful.

“Don't listen first ..., what's the offer?”

“Not necessary .... Odo, I've decided. I think it's okay, if it's you. After all you promised to always be with me ..., take me out of this place, because it's —”

Vil stared straight at the mysterious eyes, the smile from behind his veil faintly visible and completely shocked Odo. Closing his eyes at a glance and performing internal calculations, the young man came to a conclusion and understood what was the proper stance.

Staring with the cornea of the eye shining dim greenish, the young man said, “Alright, then ..” Odo took off his right glove, took Vil to shake hands and said, “When you shake this hand, a one-way ticket will be taken— Eh?”

Vil immediately shook Odo's hand without hesitation, even before the young man finished explaining to the end. Within seconds, a package of information that had been prepared was sent directly to Vil's head and the Supreme Spirit's consciousness immediately understood what the young man really wanted to do.

“So, yes .... Is that your new ability? Hmm, this plan is also interesting. Not that I really care, but I guess if you expect it .... I don't mind helping you.”

Odo momentarily stared in astonishment, feeling that the Great Spirit of the North Sea of the Astral World was truly aggressive this time around. With hesitation, he asked, “Did you not care about this? It could have been a mistake again ..., like when you were hoping to get on the mainland and something like that happened to your friends.”

“Hmm, did I ever tell you that? Well, to be honest I'm not sure .... Odo, but if it's you I don't think it's a problem ..”

Clasping tightly onto the young man's thin and cold hands, he stared with a faint smile mixed with sadness. Taking off his veil with his left hand, he showed the smile directly to Odo.

“I'm tired of mourning .... They wouldn't like it if I kept going like this. The two of them, my friends .., they must also expect me to go on and stop being sad .... So, Odo ... can you keep your promise in this contract you gave me?”

Odo closed his eyes, stopped the calculations, and when he opened his eyes the corneas were blue again. Smiling relieved, he replied, “Ya ..., of course.”

“Thank you, Master ...”

“Then, in exchange for this contract bonus I will give you something, Vil ...”

Odo stopped shaking hands with the Great Spirit. Opening his right hand, the young man bit his own palm until it let out a hint of blood. The blood on the palm was moving, forming a pattern of circular and square symbols with randomness.

“Cuih!”

He spit his own palm, though, making a change in the blood pattern on the palm of the hand stopped and formed a Vegvisir symbol of dried blood—it is a symbol to show eight directions with each symbol line there is an ancient rune.

“O-Odo? What do you want? What magic is it?” ask Vil a little scared. Disgust was seen on his face.

“This is only to help the coordination of the direction of the flow Mana .... You know, my structure is broken.”

“What am I asking you What do you want with that? Ka-You slob ..”

Odo slightly raised an eyebrow and said, “Oooh, that's what you're worried about, anyway. Never mind, do not stare at such disgust ..”

“Wait ...! Why approached? Why are you raising your palm like that?! That was you spit on, ‘kan? Clean first!”

“Have ...”

“Ti-No! Don't come any closer!”

Despite stepping back and trying to fight, in the end Vil was captured on his face with the symbol on Odo's palm. The dried blood symbol did not imprint on the Great Spirit, instantly disappearing when it touched his face as a whole.

Sitting limply on the floor after being forced by Odo, the eyes of the Great Spirit glazed over. Staring as if to cry loudly, then annoyed said, “For what, anyway! Slut!”

“Don't say that, it's just a way of stabilizing your existence.”

“Stabilize what? Dirty hands used saliva can what is it?!” grouse Vil. He really didn't like being forced like that. He who tends to like clean does not like such things.

Pointing towards the sitting Vil, the young man said, “Hmm, with that you should be able to get out as long as it is still within ten meters of me.”

“Eh?” Both the eyes of the Great Spirit opened wide, immediately got up and asked, “This is a Soul Contract?”

“Not,” Reply Odo flat. “Only sort of overlays your information with my information, makes connections and makes me a stabilizer of your existence.”

“Hmm ..?” Vil did not understand this, tilted his face and could not catch the intent despite knowing what kind of power the young man had.

“Already, try to exit ...”

As Odo said, they walked up to the library door to test the results. However Vil was still hesitant, he stopped stepping and did not dare to step out of the library. Recalling the last time he tried to leave a few years ago, he became daunted to step outside. At that time he almost unraveled and disappeared from the world.

“Ya-Make sure no problem? I can quickly disappear if out, loh.”

“Try ...” Odo opened the door wide, smiled and said again, “If you will disappear, I will pull it later.”

Trying to believe Odo's words, the Great Spirit stepped through the door and continued down the steps of the library terrace. The signs of his body would disappear invisibly, he could actually walk out of the library without a Soul Contract or had to vanish his body.

“It .... This is! Odo, I can get out! Can get out of the library!”

The villa immediately jumped up and down cheerfully, circling merrily with barefooted feet on the surface of the stone array road. Due to his happiness, he accidentally crossed the distance limit with Odo and his body slowly disappeared.

“Eh—?! Kyaa!! Vanished out! Vanished out! My body disappeared ...” He panicked, immediately running back to the library.

Sighing lightly, Odo approached and the Great Spirit and stopped him— Holding both sides of Vil's shoulder, then smiled lightly. The process of annihilation stopped, even the particles that floated away from the Great Spirit's body came back and composed its body.

“This ... actually what are you doing?” The Great Spirit looked straight at the young man who was slightly taller than him, full of wonder and curiosity.

“Information manipulation. At first I wanted to make my body able to accommodate you, but I guess it was impossible because I was getting weaker. So I thought like this, ‘if I can't, how about I just change Vil?’ and it turned out to be successful,” jenas Odo.

“Manipulation? What are you manipulating? Explain, please explain! I'm curious!”

Vil was really curious, he asked excitedly and really curious because all this time he researched about various ways and never succeeded. Closer face to the young man, he excitedly asked, “Tell me! Master Odo!”

“Eh? Master?” mind Odo. He starts to get distracted by the way Vil calls him. Slightly turning his face and sighing, he ignored that astonishment and had to explain.

“Akh, it ... sort ...”

After that the young man explained everything, about the power of Aitisal Almaelumat and how to use it in a basic manner. Indeed Vil already knew what kind of power it was from the information package he received along with the list of Odo plans, but got a more detailed explanation he was really amazed.

“Means ... It has absolute information manipulation potential?! That's grand! You can use that kind of power! You are different, Master Odo!” vil said with full energy. The calm impression of him seemed to disappear, changing with an energetic girl who was always cheerful in face.

Taking two steps back, Vil turned away from Odo and said, “I understand the function you are using it ...” He smiled faintly, nodded once and said, “Basically a Spirit in the Real World is similar in nature to a gas, therefore a container like an Altar or a Temple is required. To Accommodate the information of the Great Spirit required a complex size, then to be able to accommodate the arrangement of the information required a complex Media, or also can be used the body of the person for the reservoir— That is the Soul Contract, requires some kind of collision .... However!”

Vil turned around and faced Odo, pointed at him and said, “You fiddled with it! Rightly so? With the power of your Aitisal Almaelumat!”

Odo was silent for a moment to hear the words of the Great Spirit who seemed to act like a famous detective. Sighing lightly, Odo replied, “True, but incomplete.”

“Eh? Incomplete? What else is lacking?” Vil squinted with curiosity.

“If the nature of Spirit is like gas in this world, then what makes your existence bound to me and still exist even outside like this? I don't manipulate your information to the degree that you can freely move in the Real World.”

“Eh?” Vil fell silent, tilted his face and looked puzzled. A few seconds later, he wondered to himself why he had previously said such a strange and pretentious thing.

Odo stared flatly, in the mind felt, “Ah, the effect of the information package, yes? It does affect personality enough, anyway ...”.

Taking a breath, the young man explained, “Hariq Iliah .... You know that Special Magic, not ?”

“Fire magic, indeed .... But at a certain level, it could easily manipulate the temperature and at an advanced level could even control the gas with that temperature. At the final level, fire magic can be used for a crystallization of a gas .... Using the concept of three forms of substances ..”

“Three ... forms of substances?” Vil is confused. Although he can slightly follow the explanation, but he must focus until his forehead shrinks.

“Cair, Solid, Gas .... You know that, don't you? Basic Alchemy, loh ...” Odo stared flatly, feeling instead to explain.

“Hmm, but what's the connection?” ask Vil enthusiastically.

“So instead of saying it yourself, Spirit is like Gas in the Real World. If it is not in a medium with a complex arrangement, it will soon disappear. Because of that ..., I did the alignment .... I overwrite your arrangement to be very similar to gas, then crystallize it— Not physically, but existence. That is also the reason for the distance limit ...”

Vil's face was immediately gobsmacked, all his doubts understood. Indeed, in this way a stabilization of existence can be done, like crystallizing an existence in an object and keeping its condition unchanged. But when understand can manipulate information to that level, a question arises in Vil's mind.

“Hmm, why not just change my body or existence so that I can patent in this Real World? You have the power for that, don't you?”

“I ... not as practical as Verainderung's wand,” said Odo with a lazy gaze.

“A ...!” Vil gasped a little, immediately lowered his face and realized that he was asking for too much. He knows changing information is not easy, he has done that and made fatal mistakes that cannot be forgiven.

“Sorry ..., Odo,” said Vil regretfully. A little raised his face, he looked at the young man.

“Not a problem .., as long as you understand.”

Breathing a sigh of relief, Vil slightly turned his gaze and turned towards the garden with flowers that had not yet bloomed. He was small, recalling Odo's plan embedded in his head.

Looking towards the young man, the Great Spirit said, “If you can already do this for me, it is no longer necessary to fight Leviath—”

“I will stick against him,” sela Odo firmly.

Vil was speechless looking at the serious expression on the young man's face. With a trembling tone, the Great Spirit asked, “Eh? For what?”

“I need that Serpent .... To be exact, the Special Magic he possessed. For that, I need help to defeat him.”

Flames of ambition blazed on the young man's eyes, making Vil feel the warmth of the spirit. Smiling slightly and nodding lightly, the Great Spirit turned back around merrily. Her hair fluttered, along with her hood and her frayed clothes.

Stop spinning, he faced the young man and said, “So, yes .... All right, I'll help you, Odo.”

“Thanks ..., Vil.”

The answer sounded faint, so cold as if not really hoping that the Great Spirit would agree. But actually that is not the reason, there are different reasons in Odo himself.

“Not a problem,” said Vil as he turned back, stretching his hands to the side and dancing barefoot on the road. He was so cheerful, moving freely in the sun. Despite the fact that he did not really have freedom in the Real World, he clearly enjoyed the moment.

While circling around like he was dancing, he asked, “By the way, Odo .... You gave me a gift like this, meaning I have to come with you to Mylta?”

“Hmm, already know my plan, ‘right? Please just do that, Vil ...”

The Great Spirit stopped circling around, facing Odo and puzzledly asked, “Don't it be more perfect if you were the one doing it? If I can be messy later, loh.”

“Tak problems .... No need to be perfect, only someone has to do it. My condition can't be ..., so please just you.”

“Hmm, fine .... Then let's go!” speak the Great Spirit with spirit.

“Eh? Wait .... Tomorrow we start ...”

“Already, Come! I tried this gift of yours .... Let's see if there's anything less or not than the way you maintain my form.”

The Great Spirit took Odo with him, took him running down the road in the garden cheerfully and went towards the main gate. But when he arrived in the middle of the park, Minda who had just returned from the city after his business was finished caught them in front of the gate.

“Vil ...? Mr Odo ..”

The black-haired female face was completely twisted, disbelieving the Great Spirit before her could come out of the magic library without experiencing body expansion. Instantly the mind moved quickly due to the astounding situation, leading Shieal to a conclusion, the Soul Contract.

It made Minda take a deep breath and shout, “Nyoooooonya!! Mr Odo brought Vil out!! He made a Contract with Vil!! Madamaa!!”

“A ..., as expected.”

That was a misunderstanding and a reasonable action was taken by a Shieal who prioritized his master. The female in the maid uniform immediately ran towards the Mansion without waiting for Odo's explanation, it really seemed frantic because understanding the Soul Contract was the only way to maintain the Great Spirit in the Real World equally.

A few minutes later, Mavis is accompanied by Fiola and Julia arrives in a hurry after hearing Minda report. They all came with a woman in a long waitress dress up to the ankle, she actually reported Odo and Vil in a way that definitely made Mavis and the two people behind her misunderstand.

“My son! Why are you acting again ...? Though your condition has just improved, my son .... You are this ...”

“Tuan ..., why do you always make everyone anxious?! You this ...”

“Mr Odo, You ...”

Mavis, Julia, and Fiola stared anxiously as if Odo's life would not be long. Their reaction was not excessive, basically the Soul Contract could only be done by certain people and it had to be paid with something that was worth the strength gained. If done by an ordinary person, it is certain that his life span will be eroded a lot and could die immediately.

Turning his gaze away, Odo sighed with a lazy expression explaining the actual situation. Staring at Mavis, the young man walked up to his mother and immediately grabbed her hand and clasped her tightly. Within seconds, a special information packet containing an explanation of the situation was sent to Mavis.

“Ah ...? That was ...?”

Mavis was at a glance confused, not because he did not understand but instead vice versa. He understood what was happening in full, the reason and chronology in brief even the blonde woman knew immediately.

“Mr Odo? What ... did you do to Madam?” ask Fiola a little worriedly. Huli Jing was holding Odo's shoulder and at that time the information was sent to him, he immediately understood the situation.

The same thing happened to Julia and Minda who tried to separate Odo from Mavis. Knowing what really happened and the reason why Vil could be outside even without the Soul Contract, a question came to their minds.

“My son ..., which you did this ...”

Turning his eyes lazily away from his mother, Odo preferred to flow information again rather than explain it by mouth. It traveled like electricity, sending information about Odo's power to them.

Stopping holding his mother's hand, Odo looked away and stepped back slightly. Everything need not be explained anymore, the information is clearly understood Mavis. The four people except Fiola were completely shocked, knowing the fact that the young man's ability to deliver such information could be from the Ancient Demon King.

“Sorry .., I hid it ...”

What the young man said made everyone who heard him stunned. The four of them understood, some of the things Odo had and would do for what. Although it should make them want to scold him, but the manner of delivery made Mavis and the others not feel angry. Only a sense of calm exists when knowing some plans and facts about Odo.

“Mother ..., can I go again? To that city ...”

“Odo ..., really why are you doing that? If indeed you care about Mother, please do not make Mother anxious again .... Mother please, my son ...”

“Sorry .., but it must be. Maybe in the eyes of this Mother is just a trivial thing because now I will be the candidate for the king of this country. But ..., I think this will also mean a lot later, that's what I guess.”

“Then please come back unharmed! Mommy doesn't want to see you back in that condition again .... Can't move, fragile  .... Can you promise mommy? You know, my son .... It feels ..., in the chest hurts when you see it like that.”

“Hmm ..., Sorry. Because of that ... so may I ask something too?”

“What ... again is it?”

Mavis looked worriedly. In his mind he actually wanted to embrace Odo and forbid his son at any cost. But aware that such a right does not belong to him, Mavis prefers to bury that desire. She felt unworthy as a mother of a child like Odo.

“Vil, Sister Julia and Mother Mind must come with me .... I need their help, I want them to take care of me while away.”

“Eh?”

The request sounded nothing like the usual Odo and left Mavis shocked. Thinking about it a little rationally, Mavis understood that her son also understood that his condition was weak and needed the help of others.

After that Odo explained it by mouth, the reason for the request to them. No one understood why Odo preferred to say it with his mouth and not do anything like that, but strangely it made them unable to argue with it.

Without any meaningful arguments, the request was approved as if they were indeed guided by the young man.

After escorting Odo and the others to the gate, Mavis and Fiola walked towards the Mansion. But while in the middle of the park, Huli Jing behind Mavis asked, “What ... is it okay to let Odo go like that? Madam knows her condition is still not recovering, ‘kan? She is very fragile ..., to the point of not being able to use magic and even magic herself damages her body.”

Mavis's footsteps stopped, again feeling doubtful about his decision earlier. He turned around and expressed his doubt. But a sprig of Lantana Cemara flowers that fell on his head made the woman momentarily undo his intentions.

Mavis takes flowers that are supposed to come from the tropics on the island of Kritasil Bascal but can grow in the subtropics. He immediately felt something strange because the flower petals on the stalk bloomed red. Smelling the aroma, Mavis was further astonished.

Lantana Cemara should be a flower that smells like dirt wonder, but what in her hand it smells like jasmine. At that time Mavis recalled Odo's ability to manipulate information, instantly understanding who the flower could be in his hands now.

“Odo ..” Staring out the gate, the woman looked anxious.

Without everyone realizing it, the young man who had left with the Shieals had already planned it from the beginning. Ever since he did a causality reversal on the flower in Mavis' hands.
