Chapter 4: The early stages of unconscious awakening (Part 02)

At midnight, when all the children in the Orphanage had slept Odo kept his eyes wide open. He really could not sleep, not because the bedroom was not good, but because Daniel slept irregularly and always circled his sleeping position.

Giving up on the situation, Odo gets out of bed and sees sleeping Daniel overpowering Firkaf. Surprisingly, too, the quiet child did not wake up and still sleep soundly even though Daniel overcame with a sprawling position.

"I lost to him about endurance" said Odo with a lazy face.

Understanding that he really could not sleep in the place, Odo came out of the room and intended to go to the Main Room. Although it looks small from the outside and only has one floor with an attic, but the Orphanage building is classified as large extending to the back.

After exiting the room, the main hallway with a Gothic feel was immediately welcomed. Along the hallway are several doors from several rooms, kitchens, and warehouses, with the end of a door in the form of a door to the main room and at the other end is a wall that has decorative glass on the top.

After taking a light breath, Odo walked towards the door of the Main Room. He held the door, then opened it. He was surprised to see the Main Room with the main door of the Orphanage wide open and let the night breeze in.

What surprised Odo was not the main door that opened at night, but Siska who stood in front of the door wearing only a thin bed pajama. The appearance felt foreign, to the woman who was always seen wearing nun clothes.

With blond hair unraveling and fluttering in the night breeze, Siska turned her head towards Odo. Putting aside his bangs covering his face, He asked in a subtle tone, "Not yet asleep, Mr Odo?"

"Not ...." Odo was silent again. When he saw the woman, he felt for the first time that he truly believed in the existence of the Holy Girl. Although her mother is also known as Saint, but Siska feels different.

"The sacred aura is indeed no stronger than the mother, but this person .... absolutely ...."

Looking at the silent Odo, Siska slightly smiled as she asked, "Why daydream? What's on my face?"

"No, it's just .. Is Sister Siska a Saint like my mother?" ask Odo.

"Saint's? Like Miss Mavis? Glad I was likened to him. But honey, I'm just an ordinary human being, I'm not at all comparable to that angel-like figure. Big brother is only really an ordinary human who is endowed with holy power, that's all. No more and no less."

"Angel ...? My mammy?" asked Odo in confusion.

"Hem, you don't know? Madame Mavis is one of the heroes who defeated the Demon King in the twenty tah⸻ great war"

"If that's what I already know," cut Odo.

"If the matter of Mrs Mavis is an angel child you already know?"

The words surprised Odo. He really did not expect that such a fact would appear.

"Ma-Angel?" asked Odo as he walked closer to Siska and stood before her.

"Yes, rather than being called a descendant, he is even more like being called an angel himself. He was like an angel who came down from heaven into this world."

"W-What does that mean? Am I new to that? The angel? Mommy?" asked Odo in a panic.

"Calm down, Mr. Odo. It was just a rumor as the war progressed. If he really was an angel, how could he have fallen ill as he is now."

The words made Odo a little calm. He began to think and analyze the information, from what Siska said and the condition his mother was experiencing.

"By the way, does Sister Siska know the reason for this Astral World expedition being held?" ask Odo.

"Hem, naturally to look for ingredients that only exist in the Astral World to make medicine for Madam Mavis. Didn't the news spread to the corners of Marquess Luke's power?"

"Then, does Brother know what the ingredients are ...?"

"If the material Brother does not know, but said the city soldiers who were included in the expedition said they were about to fight ......."

That answer really took Odo by surprise. At that very moment, Odo immediately understood why during his father's first expedition had a major failure. It was not an easily obtainable material such as the herb grass growing from the ground or from a slithering beast, but it had to be obtained from two legendary monsters from Ancient War.

"The Black Dragon and Dryad of the Sacred Tree ....?" said Odo with a completely shocked face.

.

.

Early in the day, when all the Orphanage children had not yet awakened, Odo left immediately after leaving behind some venison, partridge, some fruits and mushrooms taken from the Dimensional Cloak to Siska.

Without saying goodbye to the others and just saying there was a place to go to Siska, Odo wore the Dimensional Cloak and quickly used lightning element magic to increase his mobility, then jumped away using thrower magic.

The place that Odo was heading to was not the Mansion where he lived, but rather a cave in the rocky hilly area where wild monsters lived.

««»»

Right in front of the cave where the Orc nest he had found while saving Nanra two days ago, Odo stood with a sharp and full gaze of smoldering Mana enveloping his body. The corpses of the Orcs he had finished off had disappeared out of nowhere, all that was left was a trace of a drag on the ground leading into the cave.

"It looks like the creature still exists ...," Odo thought with a flat expression.

Odo's goal in coming to that place is none other than to kill the monster whose existence he felt himself while saving Nanra. Since there was no reason to make a fuss with the cave dwellers, Odo chose to leave peacefully. But now it was different, He had a reason and a strong determination to finish off the monsters that were residing in there.

The reason was simple, He wanted to absorb the creature's Magic Core to increase its power until it felt enough to be able to roam the Astral World. Odo understood very well, the two monsters that brought his father home with failure were not mere monsters that could be destroyed easily. It takes careful preparation and more strategy to conquer it.

Even so, there was no guarantee his father could return bringing success in the Astral World's second expedition that was going on right now. What's more, Odo doesn't like to see his mother sicker any longer than this.

Odo stepped foot into the cave, at the same time increasing the magic pressure at the maximum level and using the earth vibration sensor magic to map out the entire contents of the cave in his mind.

"The land on which I stand is the mother of all living things, she knows all its inhabitants and tells me ...."

The Mana pressure that shot into the cave through the ground level instantly sent out the location of the creature he was looking for. Without wasting any time, Odo waved the Dimensional Cloak forward and pressed one of the Runes to draw out a sword. The sword came out with a light momentum, then Odo held onto its hilt and threw the sword sheath onto the cave floor.

"You ..., the monster that dwells in there .... I'm sorry, this may not make sense to you who just want to keep quiet, but I have a good reason to kill you."

Odo made a dimensional rune on the back of his right hand on a small scale, then inserted the Dimensional Cloak into it to keep the storage device safe. The runes on the backs of Odo's right hand turned black, and after that he made a magic circle on his left palm as a key to the access of the dimensional space.

"Preparation, okay."

After entering a few steps into the cave, Odo stopped stepping and mounted the horses. He advanced his right foot forward by lowering his body position, then held the short sword with both hands and pointed his sword eye forward.

"The lightning is part of the component world ...."

Instantly the entire Mana enveloping his body turned into a bright white lightning that struck the floor and walls of the cave. The surface of the cave where he stood slightly melted due to the heat, the shoes he wore began to decompose into dust grains due to lightning, his wear partially burned because of that, he said, and even his own body that cast lightning magic was also exposed to burns on the arms and shoulders.

Regardless of all that, He focused the entire white lightning around his body on the sword eye whose tip was straight forward. In a split second, the sword eyes broke and turned into dense Mana that had a strong lightning element.

Duazz!! Ngii!!

A flash of white lightning with the speed of light shot into the cave followed by a bouncy sound. In less than a second, everything that the sword-sized flash of lightning had passed through made the walls and floor in front of Odo melt hot. Judging from the light that began to enter from the other side of the cave, he could tell that the attack had hollowed out the hill on the other side.

Shortly after the lightning magic was fired, the sword eye that served as a medium turned into ash and disappeared. Odo's breathing instantly felt heavy, the sword hilt was dropped, and his gaze completely began to fade from using too much Mana.

As he fell to his knees in limp, the tremors from the direction of the cave felt so clear. As Odo lifted his head and looked forward, he was completely shocked by the creature that was speeding towards him.

"Meleset ...? No way, the attack should have been on target!"

The monster that shot towards him was a gigantic snake that had glowing green scales. Its size almost filled the cave, it had fangs that let out a Melting Acid Can and a breath that emitted poisonous gases.

"Eh, the snake .. its size ...."

A moment of fear enveloped Odo. The anger emanated from the Giant Snake was undoubtedly mixed with a fierce killing intent.

Thanks to Auto Senses magic that has been active since the beginning, instinctively Odo's body moves itself in the middle of fear that makes it petrified. He quickly turned around, then used throwing magic with a small chunk of Mana left to jump out of the cave.

Duars!!

The giant snake barged out and smashed the mouth of the cave. Shortly before the snake smashed its way out of the cave, Odo made it out first by jumping and rolling over the ground.

Odo knelt limply before the snake that straightened its body and hissed loudly full of wrath. With all his remaining energy, he tried to stand up. Taking a breath, Odo tried to calm himself down to be inedible with fear and lose rational thought in precarious situations.

"Censes ... Access, Pain Relief, Improve Reflexes, Analysis."

Instantly the Mana circulation that was completely left a little in Odo's body slowed down. The signs of Odo's life were reduced, but the killing in the boy's body increased dramatically.

Odo's pupils widened until almost all of his white parts disappeared, and his eyeballs spun rapidly scanning the giant snake monster in front of him visually. In a matter of seconds, all the necessary information is obtained from these observations. Odo blinked, his pupils turned normal again.

"Giftmelata, The Toxic Green Giant's Snake Yes .... Huh, what do I suppose? It turned out to be an upper middle-level magic monster. Just make keget, motherfucker!!"

With blood flowing out of his nose and mouth, Odo stared at the 30-meter-long giant snake. The body was about five meters wide, the monster straightened its body and seemed to stand half the length of its body. Its green glowing skin was seen emitting an extremely strong magic pressure and a glimpse of lightning radiating all over the body of the giant snake.

"Shaaas!!" Giftmelata spouts Acid Can towards Odo. Realizing that such an attack was coming, Odo had placed his left palm over the back of his right hand.

"Open!"

Shuut!

Odo quickly pulled out the Dimensional Cloak from the storage rune on the back of his right hand by using the magic circle on his left palm as an access key. Shortly before the Acid Could hit Odo, He stretched the Dimensional Cloak in an active state to cover the body and inserted the entire Acid Can Spray into the space inside the cloak.

Shuuts!

The sprayed can was completely engulfed in the storage dimension on his robe.

"Everything is swallowed by space" Odo said in a dark tone.

He immediately put on the Dimensional Cloak and gave an intimidating look towards Giftmelata. In an instant, that gaze seemed to twist the hierarchy between the hunter and the quarry between them.

"Monster of your kind should only have Acid Poison, Poison Breath, and Scales as strong as steel. But ..., why is your body now full of lightning magic that makes your scales glow huh ....? Did you eat magic crystals? No. ... right!?"

Odo knows that his chances of winning are slim. The body that was too overburdened from using lightning magic earlier, Vitality that was really close to its limit, and the burns on both of his hands actually made things worse.

But that also happened to Giftmelata, as long as the monster's body was at its limit. The opening attack that Odo used before did not miss, the attack was fiercely about the monster but just did not finish it because of the existing scale structure.

Leather as hard as steel, in other words it can also mean having a metallic element that in some cases can be a poor conductor of electricity. Although due to her skin structure Giftmelata survived, but the signs of destruction on her body were completely visible. The glowing crack on his body was the most obvious sign.

Giftmelata sped towards Odo, then fluttered its huge tail very quickly. Seeing the attack, Odo smiled darkly while putting on the Dimensional Cloak as a shield.

"Everything is swallowed by space."

Shuu!!

When the green giant snake monster's tail touched the Dimensional Cloak, instantly the monster's tail was absorbed into the space inside the cloak. When the space would be full, Odo instantly closed the space and ....

Crak!!

"DORCHAAAA!!"

The enclosed dimension was quickly sharper than any weapon cutting off the snake monster's tail. Giftmelata rolled around in pain, Green-colored mana and liquid blood came out from her cut tail wound.

Seeing that, a smile in the sensation of life and death was clearly visible on Odo's face. He walked with his body swaying towards the monster that had completely turned into that prey

"You ... be ...tumbalku ....!!"

Odo's words were directly conveyed to Giftmelata through his killing desire. Although the child's body was not even bigger than its size, it was obvious that Giftmelata was made to tremble in fear by him.

After that, mercilessly, like himself a monster, Odo dismembered Giftmelata's body using the Dimensional Magic he had on his robe.

Odo cut off from the tail, continuing gradually and increasing by 1.5 meters until it left its head. When the monster reached the end of its life, Odo without a doubt cut it again using the Dimensional Cloak and with it the entire body of Giftmelata was completely stored in the space in his robe.

Odo stood limp after finishing off the snake monster, his body collapsed backwards and fell to the ground full of the monster's blood. His gaze began to fade, his consciousness as if starting to drift upwards.

Before Odo's consciousness completely disappears, he activates the Auto Senses on the strongest level of defense with the basis of sustaining life.
