Chapter 33: Something not far from its place (Part 01)

The place felt so nostalgic for him, a dusty expanse of land with rolling hills of reddish rocks scattered like a labyrinth that misleads — everyone who walks in it and traps them in that one eternal place. Odo stood on one of the stone hills of the dusty place, gazing into the path between the desolate and narrow cliffs below with a look of flat eyes.

A voice that belonged to who was calling the child, made him turn his head and look at the source of the voice. There was no one standing, instead a black lump of thick smoke floated there. Dark, dull and abstract, the smoke was alive, moving and starting to approach Odo. Forming a hand and touching the cheek gently, a fleeting voice whispered to him.

“Finally we will meet again ..., O my beloved. This time ... error will not be repeated again ..., Infinity will be blessed, the world of which there are only one and zero has been lost by then .... The position of the sky and land has been inverted ever since.”

The smoke drifted away, forming a female body that was only made of smoke and looked very abstract. It felt familiar to the child, leaving him astonished and subconsciously reaching out as if he wanted to. But before he could touch the abstract form, suddenly the place where Odo stood completely turned white.

Plain, whether it is the ceiling or the floor, everything is white without any other color stains or objects. It was different from the Soul Realm that Odo knew, feeling even more hollow and very lonely. Sensing a different existence from behind, the boy turned his head and saw the figure of a black-haired woman smiling sweetly towards him. Odo did not know him or feel remembered by the figure, really felt foreign and a little make him feel goosebumps.

Unlike the previous figure, it looked very clear. The black-haired woman in white was staring and clearly Odo could see her face. But when she opened her eyes, she was wide-eyed because she had no eyeballs and only empty eye holes full of pitch darkness. It momentarily made Odo tremble, but the sense dissipated quickly upon hearing the woman's silent voice.

“Hiks .... Hiks, hiks ...,” the woman's cries quietly, feeling as if they seeped into Odo's chest and made him feel empathy.

From the hole without the female eyeball, tears made of molten lead-like melts flowed out, dripping onto the floor and instantly evaporating. Not feeling the slightest fear, Odo was curious and walked up to the woman. Touching his cheek, he was about to say. However, the sound cannot come out of the mouth and the throat feels dry. It was like something was strangling his neck and not letting the child talk.

The woman without the eyeball raised her face, as if looking at Odo with a hole full of darkness. Turning to Odo's cheek, the woman said, “Are you not afraid even if I am like this?” The question the boy wanted to answer, but the voice still could not come out of his mouth.

“So, yes .... You are indeed ..”

The woman suddenly disappeared from in front of Odo. The white space quickly turned into a dark void, devoid of light and made the child's breath feel tight. Sensing the sensation of sinking in a few seconds, Odo fell on a hard opening and everything suddenly turned sky blue. In that place was someone waiting for him, not a woman but an armored figure two meters from top to bottom.

The armored figure walked quickly towards Odo and before the boy woke up, he stabbed Odo with a sword right at the chest. It does not hurt, it feels warm all over the body. The cover of the face of the silver armored figure iron helmet slowly opened, looking at Odo's eyes as if drawn in by the dense darkness and—

Bruk!!

Odo fell from the bed. Confused, he flickered, trying to understand the situation. Waking up and looking at Daniel and Firkaf who were sleeping in bed, Odo narrowed his eyes slightly. They both kicked each other in the face, feet on the head and head on the feet. Seeing the children, Odo immediately understood that what he saw was just a dream.

“By my magic control almost everything came back thanks to Auto Senses persuading Seliari, but now even a strange dream again .... What the fuck, why should I also be stabbed like that in a dream?” muttered the black hairdo.

Sighing lightly, he put on a slightly overwhelmed face with what was before him. Although he asked Siska to stay for a few days at Inkara Orphanage, but still Odo could not rest with the two children who could not calm down while sleeping.

Turning around and stepping towards the door, Odo finally walked out of the room and walked down the hallway. The boy headed back, to the kitchen to find a place to sleep. While passing through the dining room, Siska and Fiola were sleeping on chairs. The table in front of them was filled with sheets of files that Odo placed on them, it was a sign that the two men were doing the pile of work to fall asleep in the seat.

“Ah, what's this flavor?” muttered the boy.

Trying not to think about it further, Odo opened the kitchen door and was about to find a space to sleep. But looking up at the stack of two-stacked flour sacks in the corner of the kitchen, Nanra slept on top of her with the blankets and pillows the girl had brought from her room, make the sacks of flour as his bed.

At first glance Odo saw the calf of the white hair girl who was slightly open, feeling a little strange he was crouched near Nanra and opened Nanra's dress to see more clearly. A scar was on the girl's calf, like a chain of handcuffs and a sharp object incision. Odo more or less knew the source of the scar, closed the girl's dress again he let out a light sigh.

“Odo ..., what are you doing?” ask Nanra. The girl was still awake, staring at Odo in surprise and narrowing her eyes slightly.

“Ah ..”.

Odo could only be silent, the situation was very inviting misunderstanding and he really looked like he was trying to do nothing to Nanra. The girl immediately got up and sat away, pulling the blanket up to chest height and staring at Odo with a slight contempt.

“Wait, why are you looking at me like that? Nanra, just so you know this is not what you think ..”

“Eng ..., what do you come to the kitchen for at night and peek into my dress like that while I'm sleeping?”

“It ... scar on your leg, I'm a little curious to be ...”

Nanra was surprised to hear that, she immediately put both her legs into the blanket and further curled up on top of the pile of flour sacks. Staring flat at Odo, the girl asked, “Why haven't you slept? Is it not comfortable? Is it as bad as this bed?”

“Not it.” Odo shook his head, put on a slightly reluctant face while recalling the two children in the room who slept unnoticed, he said, “Only the two of them ..”.

“Ah, Daniel and Firkaf sleeping messed up, yes.”

“Do you sleep here for similar reasons?”

“Hmm, Mila and Erial sleep like wrestlers, kick around here and there. I think only Sister Nesta can sleep with them ..”.

Odo smiled lightly for the reason Nanra slept in the kitchen was not as bad as she had expected. Waking up and going up to the pile of flour sacks, the boy went inside Nanra's blanket and said, “Then, I'm sleeping here, yeah. No other place is like ...”

Nanra slightly shifted, giving Odo a place and slightly blushed in embarrassment as the boy suddenly walked into her blanket. Sitting next to each other and leaning against the wall behind them, Nanra and Odo momentarily fell silent awkwardly and could not close their eyes in the slightest.

“Why are you staying at this place again? Yesterday you slept at the inn, ’kan?” ask Nanra.

“Ah, that ... just assume I was exposed to unexpected expenses.”

Odo slightly turned his eyes away. Glancing flat at the girl, he felt that there was something different from Nanra. The boy's cornea briefly changed color, analyzing the changes and including them in a passive flow of calculations in the Auto Senses arrangement.

“Hmm, what is the reason .... And also, why are you staying in this city? Wouldn't it be more comfortable sleeping in your Mansion bed? No need to feel cold or tight like this?” asked the girl, she turned to look at Odo and looked straight at him with her violet eyes. It felt strange for the boy to get such a look, in the mind felt something that had never been felt like not wanting to look pitiful or spoiled in front of the girl.

“Sleep, yes ...” Odo stopped glancing, looked towards the kitchen table and slowly towards the fireplace which was also commonly used as an oven for baking bread. Just realized that the cold that should be there was not too pronounced, he slightly put on a dark gaze and slid his feet out of the blanket. It was not because of the blanket worn, but rather it was around slowly starting to rise for some reason.

“What is that dragon doing again? He accessed my Magic Core, huh?” mind Odo.

Looking over at the girl, Odo understood that she did not feel the temperature change and that perhaps only the boy rhyme had experienced the temperature change from within. Turning his mind away from it, the black-haired boy replied, “Today I have rarely slept. Despite sleeping, must be a strange dream approaching me.” Odo looked up, looked at the ceiling and looked a little uneasy about something.

“What strange dreams?”

“Now, I don't know,” said Odo. Turning to look at Nanra, the boy smiled slightly and said, “Have it, close your eyes and sleep ..”

Nanra nodded, slightly pushing the boy and began to change her position. “Odo, can slide a little?” naran pinta.

“Eh? Corner end, nih.”

“I want to lie down .... I can't sit down to sleep.”

Changing position, Nanra laid her head on Odo's lap. Although not facing towards her, but the girl's back hair touched Odo's most sensitive part and made him unable to calm down. It was more disturbing than Daniel and Firkaf who slept unnoticed, making the boy unable to close his eyes and stare at the innocent girl flat and begin to sleep soundly.

A few hours passed and it did not feel like the day was starting in the morning. The dim light enters through the air vents in the kitchen, indicating that the day that comes is not cloudy like yesterday. Patting Nanra's body, Odo said, “Wake up, oi! It's morning ..!”

“Eng, quiet ...!” Nanra slid and swung her right hand back, accidentally hitting Odo's mouth hard and making her lips bleed a little.

“Uch ...! Why are children in this place if sleep is not because ..”

Within seconds, the wound on the boy's lips closed back and completely disappeared. Slightly annoyed, Odo forced his feet and made Nanra roll down from the top of the pile of sacks. A loud enough clashing sound rang out, the girl immediately woke up with a bit of pain and stared narrowly at Odo.

“Her cruelty .., you really don't know how to treat women well, do you? Were you really born into a noble family?”

“Women?” Odo raised his eyebrows, then said, “The one in front of me is just a boy who sleeps his drool like a leaking dam, kok.”

Seeing that there was still fresh saliva in Odo's black pants, Nanra immediately cleared the saliva on her own mouth with a shy blush. He was silenced, unable to say anything more and turned his face away. Sighing lightly, Odo immediately picked up the blanket and wiped the saliva that was on his pants.

“Sorry ...”

“If you're sorry, you better understand first the manner of your speech,” said Odo. Finished cleaning the saliva, the boy stared flatly and said, “You know, Nanra .... A person's attitude can change from the way they speak. Even if you feel like your way of speaking is grown-up, it's just a child's stubborn speech. You're even more childish than Daniel ...”

“I'm not a kid!” refuted Nanra with a reddened face in annoyance.

“You boy .... A clever boy, but unwilling to think harder or use his head before acting.” Odo slightly raised his chin, looked down cynically and his lips slightly raised next to him in annoyance.

“What ... are you still angry about the incident?” ask the girl a little doubt.

“Still angry?” Both Odo's eyebrows twitched. Seeing that Nanra did not understand her mistake at all and did not feel guilty about it, Odo said, “As you know, I never forgave you for a second. Anyway, you haven't even apologized about that ..”

“I ...!!” Nanra stopped, she lowered her head and did not speak.

“I, what?” ask Odo firmly. But, the girl did not reply at all and simply turned her face away gloomily.  Getting such a reaction, Odo said, “Nanra, I understand you hate nobles and I also understand the reason. But, I want you to know who you should hate ..”

“What ... do you mean, Odo? What do you know of me ...?”

“What did my father do to you?” ask back Odo. Staring firmly at the girl, he again asked, “Even though indirectly, Dart Luke is the one who saved you, right? What makes you hate him? What makes you hate the nobles?”

“They do not becus ...!! Because they ... my village and both my parents ..”

“The ones who killed them and burned your village are the bandits, please don't get me wrong hating like that,” stressed Odo.

Having such a saying, Nanra could only bow her head and could not argue. The girl was well aware of this long ago, but only by hating the nobles could she step forward using such an excuse. The girl just depends on the reason, spoiled to be a sad victim to get a reason to stay alive. Because unlike other children who have strong ideals later on as adults, the girl named Nanra had absolutely no such thing.

Sighing lightly, Odo looked in annoyance and said, “I know you are very clever, so do not keep your stupid nature and try to see the reality. Do not be addicted to such delusions ..”

Odo got out of place, tidied up a little and jumped down from the flour sack. When he reached the kitchen door, the boy stopped for a moment and turned a glance. “Don't be moody like that, just think about it if there's time .... It could be that the answer is true later,” said Odo with a thin smile.

Those words felt strange in Nanra's mind. Sitting on top of a pile of flour sacks, the girl lowered her head and mused slightly after Odo came out of the kitchen. What the boy said felt right in Nanra's mind, which is why she felt she did not want to accept it directly. When accepting Odo's words, it was the same Nanra considered after losing both her parents completely wrong.

“Why the hell is he .... Why can you know like that, lecture me like that .... Who is older, padaha—”

“Nanra?” Siska walked into the kitchen, looking at the girl with a hint of wonder. Smiling faintly, he continued saying, “Can you help Brother prepare breakfast? Today it's Brother and you're turn, ‘kan?”

Looking at the blonde woman who was still wearing the same tunic as yesterday, Nanra smiled at a glance and stopped thinking about Odo's previous words. Unknowingly the girl followed the boy's words to delay thinking such things.

“Yes, Sister Siska .”

The girl got up from the top of the pile of flour sacks, then began to help her as Siska asked. What they make is not too different from the usual days, a bread made from flour dough that is processed by hand and a side dish in the form of vegetable soup with a meat filling.

Nanra began to prepare firewood and light the fireplace, while Siska began to take flour from the sack that had opened and began making dough to make bread. At that simple moment, Siska felt that something had changed from the girl. Having seen Odo come out of the kitchen where Nanra slept, the nun had wanted to ask this but not so after seeing a smile that is rarely seen on the face of the girl's white hair.
