Chapter 1: Something New (Part 01)

Magic is a legitimate field of science that is proven and has considerable influence on life in this world.

Magic is basically a control or manipulation of Mana where the user is called a Witch or Magician. Utilizing the energy of Life in the form of Ether and Mana to cause natural phenomena according to the will and manipulate it.

Those who could use magic usually had a trained Magic Circuit, able to manipulate Vitality stored in a Mana Storage Media that was often called the Magic Core within the Body. There were also some people who could manipulate the natural Mana from outside the body, but the burden towards the Core and Magic Circuit could be heavier than the use of the Internal Mana.

Magic has various types, such as Dark Magic, Runic Magic, Manipulation Magic, Element Magic, Spirit Magic, and various other types. But basically Magic is divided into two categories, namely the manipulation of Internal Mana and External Mana.

While Mana itself is a term for vitality (life energy) that is shaped, has an abstract form and can be felt. Every living thing has Mana, whether it be humans, animals, plants, or even rocks, wind, fire, water, or other natural phenomena. Mana in living things is usually stored in the Magic Core that can develop, either in Quality or Quantity.

In the Michigan continent, which was the only land left after the War of the Gods and Demons, Magic was a very natural thing. In addition, there is also Mana manipulation that is different from Magic, namely the Art of Warung or Battle Art.

Battle Art is different from magic in a fundamental way. This Mana manipulation technique focuses on Attack and is devoted to fighting as the name suggests, manipulating the Internal Mana, then releasing it for an increase in physical ability or adding to the impact of the attack.

Almost the same as magic, Battle Art also has various types such as Sword Art, Spear Art, Empty Hand Combat Art, Archery Art, and various other types. In this case, the Luke Family was an example of an expert in the Combat Art Users of the Single Sword School.

Five years after the birth of the Young Master of the Luke family. In mid-summer, a servant girl (Maid) walks down the hallway of the Mansion in a hurry. The servant girl was Julia, a Demi-human of the Cat-Man race who was in charge of guarding the Landlord's heir as well as the Royal Noble of the southern region of Felixia at the residence.

Moving her tail filled with silvery-white fur, the servant-clothed girl walked towards the Young Master's room of the Luke family while carrying a bottle of warm cow's milk in her hand.

Arriving at the door, he quickly opened it and entered while saying, “Good morning, Mr. Odo!!” energetically.

But just after seeing what was inside, He fell. What his greenish eyes look like, it makes him completely out of his mind why a five-year-old can be so astute and climb over the bed basket fence so easily.

“Tuaan!!” julia shouted as she ran towards him.

As if understanding what was happening, little Odo was shocked in panic. He immediately quickened his climb and immediately got off the sleeping basket. With small legs that still can not run well, he tried to escape from the servant girl named Julia.

“Capture you ... he he he ..”

Julia held Odo from behind. Lifting up and starting to carry her in front, Julia showed the cow's milk in a bottle with the pacifier ready to put in Odo's mouth.

“This is what you've been waiting for, Tu⸻”

Without allowing Julia to feed, Odo seizes the bottle with the milk and blows away the contents himself. For a five-year-old, Odo can be quite strange. She had stopped breastfeeding her mother since the age of one year and preferred to drink cow's milk.

Not only that, at the age of one year he was able to walk well. At the age of two to three years, he can read and speak, although when speaking his words still sound unclear.

“Udah!” odo said, showing an empty bottle. Seeing that, Julia gave a look of wonder to him.

After handing an empty bottle to Julia, Odo thrashed around asking to get off. He dropped it off, but after Julia's hands released it, the five-year-old ran away.

“Aah, where are you going, Mr Odo?” julisa asked while catching the little boy and holding him back.

“Library! Book!” answer him with a slight lisp.

Hearing that Julia let out a light breath. “Ke library again? Why do you love Books, Sih?” said Julia while pinching Odo's chubby cheeks.

The black-haired boy was upset. While tugging at Julia's cat's ear, the boy continued to thrash while saying, “Pepus! Pelpus!!Pelpus!!”

“Ah, yes, yes. Let's go there .... Don't pull my ear, Mr. Odo.”

In the end, Julia agreed to go to the Library. Of course they left after the servant girl finished tidying up Odo's room. For a moment Julia returned the little boy to a sleeping basket made of wood with carved ornaments, then began to clean the room like a housekeeper in general.

After that, Julia again carried Odo in front with both hands and went to the Library located next to the Mansion. They pass through the hallway with a classic architectural design, windows with decorative glass on the top, and a beautiful marble floor.

When he reached the park between his residence and the library, Odo who was in Julia's sling pulled the Demi-human girl's ear and asked her to stop for a moment.

With a look of admiration, the five-year-old saw a garden filled with Lower Level Spirits flying over plants and flowers.

Looking at her Young Master's face, Julia momentarily smiled slightly. The childish expression made Julia realize that Odo was just a child as in general. Although he is not ordinary, but that does not change the fact that he is a five-year-old child.

The little boy stretched out his hands forward. A few seconds later, several Low Level Spirits shaped like a glint of light perched at the end of his hand. Not just one or two, dozens of Low-class Spirit sparkles began to float around Odo and Julia.

Julia was surprised by what happened, the phenomenon was very rare. Basically the Lower Level Spirits had no personality and were only light-shaped natural phenomena, but now they were gathered near Julia and Odo as if they were interested in something.

“It ... Are they captivated by Young Master?” Dazed Julia looked at Odo who looked happy in the crowd of Spirits.

After being satisfied to look through the various sorts of Low Level Spirits in the garden, the two of them continued on their way towards the Library located not far from the Mansion. Passing through the brick path arranged in the middle of the herb garden, they both finally arrived at the Library that was as tall as a lighthouse.

Julia opened the door, and then they came in. Inside they were immediately greeted by hundreds of cabinets with various books on their shelves. There are 12 floors, with each floor covering about the same area as a small town hall. When looking up, because the middle is hollow to the top they can see the top of the Library which is sunken because the roof is domed.

At the end of the ground floor, there is a zigzag staircase that continues to connect each floor to the top. In that place there is also a magic structure engraving embedded on the ceramic floor, as well as on the walls.

Luke's family library was no ordinary library, it was the Library of a Million Magic Books, Luke Scientia. It was created by Odo's mother, Mavis the Witch of Light.

As soon as he entered, Odo got down from Julia's sling and walked in quickly on the surface of the beige ceramic floor. Seeing how excited the five-year-old was, Julia momentarily smiled and heaved a sigh of relief.

“Spirited once yes. Hemn, I don't think it's okay to let Young Master like that .... Besides this place there is also him.”

Julia walked towards the table near the Library reading place, located near the stairs leading up to the top floor. While sitting on a chair near the round-shaped table, Julia again observed Odo running down the arrangement of the bookcase on the first floor.

From every book Odo saw, none of it was taken. What the little boy was looking for was not a book now, but a Great Spirit living in the Library.

After passing through several bookcases, Odo finally finds Vil, the Great Spirit of Water who is one of the spirits whose mother contracts. He sat on top of one of the cabinets while reading a book, around his body were floating water bubbles and the Marine-colored Magic Aura could be clearly seen from him.

Looking up, Odo stretched out his hands towards Vil and said, “Viii!! Books ...!”

The Great Spirit closed the book he was reading and the surrounding water bubbles disappeared. After gazing at Odo who was below and briefly sighing, The sea-blue-haired Great Spirit that was up to his waist floated down from the top of the closet as he turned around and put the book he had read into the shelf.

Vil landed very smooth, starting with the tip of the right big toe first and followed by her black dress that dangled to the floor. Odo looked at him, the face of the Great Spirit was covered in a black veil and his head was covered in a thin veil. The appearance was a bit similar to the Ungea royal fashion style.

“You're not bored? Though your foster child mostly plays outside rather than continue to come to a place like this,” said Vil.

“Here cool! Vil, please teach me magic again, I beg ....” Odo looked at the Great Spirit with a clear face. Looking at that, Vil felt that the child looked a bit like a small black-haired marmot.

“Follow,” thought Vil while briefly turning his face away.

Odo walked up to Vil, then pulled up her dress by once again pleading, “You yes, Vil ..?”

“Ba-Alright, you are always a hassle huh. What else would you like to learn today? More about the runes again? Or about Mantra ?” Vil carried Odo, then carried him hovering upwards towards the third floor of the Library.

Julia who saw it was surprised, but when Vil looked at the servant girl and nodded, he sat down again. Vil is one of the Spirit of Mavis belief, there is no harm in her Young Master being carried for a moment by the Great Spirit, that is what Julia felt.

Arriving on the third floor, Vil who was holding Odo with both hands began to float into one of the cabinets and took a book from his shelf.

The little boy put on a slightly dissatisfied face because the title of the book did not match what Vil said. For a five-year-old, Odo is actually more mature than his age, both mentally and intelligently.

Mentally he was over 23 years old (18 + 5 years old) because his soul was a reincarnation. With the memory of his previous life brought to fullness, the boy named Odo was in terms of learning very fast and in above average magic talent. That's why he doesn't seem to like being fooled.

“Introduction to the Early Lapalan and Magic Spell Elements,” said Odo while looking at Vil's face.

“Eh ..?” The Great Spirit was a little surprised. While turning his face, he muttered, “He has really been able to read yes .... Though his writings the ancient language lo.”

“Replace .. the book is it!” said Odo while pointing at one of the books on the shelf. Vil took it and looked at the title. “Silent Rapid Technique and Ancient Magic ...?” said Vil when reading the title of the book that Odo pointed to.

With an astonished face, the Great Spirit stared intently at Odo. “You really want to learn this book? Are you sure you can understand?” tanyakanya.

Odo nodded and smiled like a child. Seeing the innocent face of the boy, Vil sighed in surrender and carried Odo up one of the cabinets, then hugged him.

While holding Odo and opening the book before him, Vil began to explain the contents of the book to the black-haired child.

With a quiet and serious atmosphere, Odo listened to the explanation of the book. The book contains a technique called “Silent Ship” and some Ancient Magic such as Red Lightning and some other lightning element type magic.

After he finished explaining the contents of the book to Odo, Vil closed the book. It was unexpected that four hours went so fast. When he saw Odo's face on his lap, the Great Spirit was a little surprised because the haired child tended to be silent, not as usual.

“Tumben silence. Is this book hard to understand, Odo?” ask Vil.

“Not that .., it's just that I just found out that spells are only used to help magic users imagine Magic,” replied Odo.

Hearing the answer like an adult and how to speak not slurred, Vil was surprised and confused.

“A ..” Odo was surprised, his face sweaty and started to turn away from Vil.

“Do you already know what magic is?” ask Vil.

“Suggestion and Imagination, as well as manipulation of vitality.” Once again Odo spoke.

Hearing that, Vil did not feel suspicious but he was amazed at the intelligence of the five-year-old child. “He-Great, even though you've only learned magic for half a year, right? Why are you this smart. So cute you~!” Vil hugged Odo from behind. For a quiet Spirit, Vil is quite open to Odo who is still a child.

“Luckily he was unsuspecting,” thought Odo.

As the Great Spirit excitedly embraced Odo, the sound of the Library door being opened. Vil and Odo quickly turned, there was a Demi-human from the Fox race who had nine tails with dense feathers.

Her hair was brownish black, wearing a Kimono with a black Haori, as well as having fox ears. The fox girl is Fiola, the Servant and personal guardian of her mother Odo, Mavis.

[Note: Kimono, traditional Japanese clothing (already in the know for sure); Haori, a robe often worn with Kimono]

Soon after entering he instinctively looked towards Vil and Odo who were sitting on top of the second floor closet. His red eyes were sharp, Odo trembled slightly at this.

“I think it's enough to get here first yes, Odo.” The Spirit girl closed the book and placed it on top of the closet.

Vil carried Odo with both hands, then began to drift down to the first floor. After landing smoothly, Julia who had been waiting below approached the three of them while carrying a tray on top of which was a ceramic pot containing herbal tea and several cups.

“What's the need, Fiola?” ask Julia.

“Tuan Dart looking for Young Master. Soon lunch, he said he was told to get ready, Mr. Dart was waiting in the dining room,” Fiola replied.

“Ah, true also ...”

Julia thought of something. If it is like a daily routine, now is the time for them to have lunch together and the task is to arrange all the needs of Odo, then take him to the dining room.

The cat girl immediately looked at Odo who was being held by Vil behind her. With a predator-like gaze looking at the prey, Julia approached and looked at Odo up close.

Odo poked Julia in the face with both feet. While struggling, the black-haired boy said, “Gak!”

“Imut once,” that's what everyone in the place thought when they saw Odo's behavior.

The boy thrashed back, then got down from the sling and ran to the back of Vil, hiding from the girl with a gaze like he wanted to prey on it.

“July, can you really take care of Young Master?” fiola asked with a doubtful look.

Julia turned around while moving her tail and ears. “Te-Of course you can! I've been looking after her since I was a year old!” he said with a little panic.

“But ...” Fiola looked at Odo who was peeking out from behind Vil's dress. “Looks like he doesn't like you at all,” he continued.

“It ...”

A moment of silence. While all was still, Odo ran from behind Vil's dress towards Julia. Seeing that, Julia looks happy and smiles happily thinking Odo is running towards her, but it is a pity that she is wrong. Odo continued to run past Julia and towards Fiola, then his bushy tail.

“Bo-Bokah bashar~!!” julia said in a sulking tone.

“Pffft!”

“Pfft ...”

Vil and Fiola who saw the reaction laughed lightly. Julia's face was red. “Cruel! Even laughed? Tauk ah, all of you are indeed annoying!” Angrily Julia walked away towards the table and was about to put a tray filled with poci and cups onto it.

Seeing her best friend flinch, Fiola panicked a little and stepped forward. “Ma-Sorry, Julia. It was just a sign⸻” The Fox Girl forgot, that Odo was still hugging one of her tails behind. Because he stepped forward and his tail moved, Odo's body still tightly hugged one of Fiola's tails slammed forward and fell with his face landing on the floor.

Plaque!

The sound of the fall sounded quite loud, even Vil, Fiola, and Julia were shocked by it. Julia who was about to put the most surprised tray, Fiola just put on a face that said, “A ..”, while Vil just glanced lightly.

When they were petrified to see Odo fall, the five-year-old woke up without crying. With a slightly flushed nose, he walked away towards Vil.

“Book!!” he said as he extended both hands asking for what was said.

“Nih, child .... what is his mental made of anyway?”

“Like at all book yes ....”

“Anaknya Madam is indeed different ..”

Think Julia, Vil, and Fiola simultaneously.

Of course Vil refused the request because his father Odo, the Landlord had called. Although he had no intention of leaving, in the end with a book to carry, Odo was fussily carried Julia away to the dining room.
