Re:START/If {Book 1.0}
Chapter 67 : Aswad 14 of 15 “Nobles, Liabilities, and Ambition” (Part 06)

The statement once again made Midir and the others surprised, looking incredulous at the words. That sounds absurd because the one who conquered the Ancient Demon King was only a child, let alone his age had not even been ten years.

“He who defeated the most feared calamity on this Michigan mainland?” rick looked at Odo.

In contrast to the Heads of the Garados and Jakall Region Families and their subordinates, the King who had heard such an estimation from the Darts only wore a flat expression. His face seemed to want to immediately continue the conversation and ask.

Midir Martanka Garados grinned wide. Looking at Odo with ambition, the Duke said, “Not only did you defeat the Black Dragon, but you also defeated the Ancient Demon King …. With such strength, the Kingdom of Felixia must have⸻”

“I will not use my power for war,” cut Odo quickly. Without waiting for him to finish his sentence, he was well versed with what the Duke wanted to say given the rumors and his attitude among the nobles.

“Why?!”

Midir returned to the table. As he clenched his right hand tightly towards Odo, the man who grew and grew up on the battlefield said, “This peace is only temporary, the phase before starting another great war! If we just keep quiet without doing anything, one day the neighboring country will definitely destroy us all! You must have heard rumors about the Moloia Kingdom wanting to start a war, right?!”

“Hmm, I already know that ...” Odo stared flat at the Archduke, analyzing his personality and way of thinking. Perception speculation is centrally active, focusing on the possible actions and words that Midir could say.

“If Moloia wants to attack Felixia, they will definitely start from this Luke Region,” Odo added to continue the conversation.

“Then why?! Instead of being attacked, we better attack first!” midir said with ambition.

“Stranquilize a little, Mr. Midir. We speak carefully,” rebuked King Gaiel when he saw the veteran began to be consumed with emotion.

Midir gasped at the hearing and seemed to want to force Odo. Understanding his own position in the place, he immediately lowered his hand and faced towards the King while bowing his head. With great respect he said, “Alright, Your Majesty ...”

After saying that, he sat back down and briefly tapped the table with his index finger. It made the atmosphere in the room turn uncomfortable, feeling tense as the old man continued to stare intently at the Only-Boyed Son of the Luke Family.

“So, what underlies you not wanting to use that power for the benefit of Felixia?” King Gaiel smiled faintly at Odo. While sharpening his gaze he asked again, “Of course not because you are upset because I used to weigh too much on your Father and Mother, right?”

Odo was silent on hearing that, staring flatly and feeling that King Gaiel was taking the conversation lightly. Taking the gloves on the table and putting them back on, the young man momentarily closed his eyes.

“After the war, what did you get?” Odo opened his eyes again, looked flat ahead and said, “If you all consider peace to be the phase before the next war, you have absolutely no respect for the lives of people. You do not appreciate the blood spilled on the battlefield.”

“Your words are like people who have sailed many battlefields.” King Gaiel sat up straight, put his right hand to his chin and in a paltry tone he asked again, “What do you know about war, Son Odo?”

Not answering the question with words, Odo exuded a very strong murderous lust toward the King. It made the air in the room feel claustrophobic to inhale, making almost everyone shiver coldly feeling the killing lust.

Stared directly at by the source, Gaiel instantly paled and had trouble breathing. The sound he could not make, could only raise his hand forward and in his mind wanted to ask Odo to stop the killing aura.

“You understand, Your Majesty?” said Odo while dispelling his lust to kill him.

In a split second, King Gaiel was able to move freely again and immediately took a deep breath. However due to the lust that emanated earlier, it made Midir, Rick, and their right hands give a wary look towards Odo.

“Aura like that ..., how many people have you killed to the point of emitting such an aura?” ask King Gaiel.

Odo glimpsed at the sight of the white-haired female from among the Elders. Although the Archbishop was also affected by murderous lust, the woman was completely unaffected and only smiled faintly at him with great hospitality.

Looking back at the King, Odo sighed for a moment and replied, “I have only killed a few people, during the Bandit Extermination Expedition led by Miss Lisiathus.”

“Lisiathus?”

“Single Princess Mr Argo Mylta. His Majesty should have read about it in the report of the defeat of the Ancient Demon King.”

“Ah ..” King Gaiel remembered it. While lowering the two onto the table, he astonishedly asked again, “Only a dozen and the aura of killing you is already that strong. You know, Son Odo …. Even your father could not emit that kind of aura in his golden age.”

Odo momentarily fell silent and looked lazy to continue the conversation which he thought was too tight. The aura of a Dragon without realizing it begins to spill out, then at the same time the cornea of the eye turns blood red. However it quickly held itself back and the color of his eyes returned to normal.

But because of the change in condition, the emotions in his mind for a moment went uncontrollable and he rudely said, “You seriously want to discuss this kind of thing? Both you and I don't have much time to talk about things like this, just ask the important thing and don't waste time?”

“Let's just relax, the other Guests have already logged in and are now resting⸻”

“I have other business ...” Odo stared intently, starting to look annoyed and disliked with long talk.

Seeing such a significant change in attitude, Gaiel felt that Odo resembled his father due to his temperament. Taking a breath and thinking about some important questions, the King again put his right hand on his chin.

“Alright, let's shorten this conversation ...”

King Gaiel looked seriously. Slightly bend his sitting position forward and put the right hand elbow on the table. While holding his head back with the back of his hand, he again asked, “If you are the owner of the Khanda symbol, what are your duties and obligations when you are born into this world? Every owner of the symbol always has ambition and passion for a thing, then they can always make it happen. Either as hard as it is, even like building an empire from scratch though.”

“Tasks and obligations, yes?” Odo did not change his expression at all. Opening his left palm and looking at it for himself, he momentarily contemplated the answer for the King earnestly. While looking forward he replied, “I just want to fix it ⸻ This World.”

“Fixed?” The king was astonished to hear that answer, as well as the people who were in the place. A word “Repair” is something that sounds strange to them, let alone to be directed to the world. “There is indeed something wrong with this world?” continued the King.

“If Your Majesty feels that the world is fine, you should immediately change your perspective before it is too late.” Odo closed his left palm, sighed lightly and briefly lowered his head. Taking a deep breath and feeling unsettled in the room, he began to look uneasy about something. “This is just a way of looking at it personally, you do not need to try to understand it,” he added while trying not to be consumed by emotions in the mind.

“Alright, but specifically what do you want to fix?” ask King.

“Honestly this sure sounds hypocritical and naive, but I will still say here.”

Odo got up from his seat, staring one by one at everyone in the room. After taking a deep breath and exhaling it, he clearly said, “I want to eliminate the war. At least, as long as I am alive the war within the continent cannot happen.”

No one laughed or underestimated that. Even though it was spoken from the mouth of a child, not a single adult could underestimate. The expression, gaze, tone of voice and charisma that existed in the young man was really full of determination and could not be deflected by mere words.

“I think it's impossible, son Odo.” The king propped up the words after a glance of astonishment. With all he knew, King Felixia explained the reality, “Now that Moloia and the Empire have started a war, Ungea has also shown its military movements on the sea border. Honestly this year a great war broke out even I was not surprised.”

“What is it because that you want to immediately appoint a successor?” ask Odo.

“Iya, that's one of the reasons.”

Odo momentarily fell silent, thinking of something else in his mind and briefly lowered his gaze all the way to the table. Deciding something in mind, he immediately raised his face and said, “New wars will arrive in Felixia next year, the first attacks most likely came from Moloia in early spring.”

The king could not understand why the young man said that. But when he saw the look of his eyes were so strong, he felt that it was not a mere joke. King Gaiel quickly looked up at Thomas Rein and confirmed, “Master Thomas, in your opinion how long will the war on the Empire's West Island be extended to our Kingdom?”

“Hmm ...” Thomas put his palm in front of his mouth, thinking it over carefully with all the information he had heard. Putting both hands on the table and staring at the King, he hesitantly replied, “This is just a personal opinion, maybe it's about eight to eleven months away. Seeing the agitation of the foreign merchants in the Capital and the movements of the imperial nobles at the border, I don't think it will be until one year.”

Odo made a flat gaze, feeling that the conversation was going slowly again because of the King's curiosity. After taking a deep breath he simply replied, “I have an acquaintance of an Oracle.” The words were a big lie, in the room Fiola immediately knew it. But reading his Master's thoughts more deeply, he preferred not to reveal.

“Ouh, I didn't think. If you can, can you tell us who⸻ is?”

“Couldn't,” replied Odo before the King finished his question.

“Reason?”

“I am also not free to ask for his services. One of the conditions he proposed to tell me the results of the prophecy, he did not want to be exposed by people like you.”

The king momentarily fell silent, able to understand this because indeed most of the Oracle did not want its existence to be known by the audience. “Value also has its limitations, and that doesn't mean it can be changed by someone after they know. After all, I also did not believe such a thing,” King Gaiel's mind while taking a light breath.

“Alright, I understand ...” King Gaiel straightened his sitting position, put his hands to his chin and began to hold his thin beard. With a sharp look he began to ask, “Then, how do you prevent the war from reaching Felixia? You said that, didn't you? I don't want to use that power for war. So, how do you do it?”

“Now, I am also thinking about it,” Odo said in a light tone.

Fiola who read his master's mind clearly knew it was a lie, the young man had thought of his way with certainty and had already taken action. But for the second time, the Huli Jing only chose to remain silent because she felt there was no benefit in telling the King.

King Gaiel put up a look of disdain to provoke, put on a flat gaze and asked, “Are you really able to think about it? Although you can, you are able to make it happen?”

“Of course I can't, which is why I want to talk like this.” Odo replied with a faint smile, put his index finger to his forehead and again said, “I want to ask for your help, King Gaiel ..”.

“What makes the Kingdom of Felixia ⸻ More precisely, I must help you? You don't have a definite picture and step to realize the idea you give. What am I putting out resources for you?”

Odo lowered his hand from the forehead, put on a thin smile and replied, “I will be Princess Arteria's fiancee, for that a title will be given to me. You should have given me some help, right? O father-in-law.”

King Gaiel's forehead immediately frowned loudly hearing that, annoyed at the confident remark. At almost the same time, Mavis and Dart laughed lightly at their son's crazy speech.

To the patriarchs of the Jakall and Garados families, those words also sounded crazy and felt that the young man could take advantage of the situation. Their right hands held back laughter when they heard it.

The Archbishop also gave a small smile at a glance, feeling that the young man in black hair had no regard for the status of the King and revealed his head purely. The white-haired woman sitting next to him held back a bit of laughter, put her right hand in front of her mouth and looked away.

Unlike all of them, Prince Ryan seems to dislike the words of Odo. He immediately got up from his seat and said, “Mana maybe Daddy will marry Adinda to someone like you! Anyway, Adinda also doesn't want to be with you!”

“Hmm, is that true?” Odo stared flatly at the Prince, then with a faint smile said, “Try asking the person himself. If he doesn't, I'll back off and give up. With a heavy heart I will also obey the policy that will be triggered King.”

Everyone in the room immediately stared at Princess Arteria who had just been silent. Although the white-haired woman could not see normally, she could clearly tell that everyone was looking at her in unison.

The shy princess immediately wanted to hide the face behind Prince Ryan next to her. But when he realized his brother also gave the same look as the others, he could only tremble and look confused.

“My daughter, do you have no problem pairing with her? If you want it, I will not refuse your will,” said the King.

Hearing this, Arteria immediately turned to her father. With a worried face he asked, “A-Ayahanda, should Arteria answer him now? A-Arteria has not known Mr. Odo ..”

“Pronounce what you are feeling now, my daughter. If you feel a little reluctant with him, Father will cancel this engagement plan.”

Hearing this, Odo frowned at a glance and felt that was what the King expected. But before he spoke, the Princess quickly said, “Arteria is not reluctant!” The answer made Prince Ryan and the King very surprised.

“But ...” Arteria lowered her head, braided her fingers with both hands and nervously added, “Arteria has not been too familiar with Mr. Odo …. Arteria knows that he is not a bad person, but still it should not be hasty decision.”

“Not ⸻ Means you want to know her better?” ask King.

Not replying with words, Princess Arteria's face instantly flushed and nodded lightly. Prince Ryan was immediately flabbergasted and sat back in his place, looking in disbelief at his sister's answer.

Seeing Arteria's reaction, the King could only sigh. He looked back at Odo and asked, “Actually what did you do to my daughter to the point that she was like this?”

“That's like that again?” Odo sat back in his place, putting on a flat expression without any sense of pleasure despite having heard the wishes of the Princess. In a flat tone the young man asked, “That's his own decision, why do you doubt it?”

“Then, how do you feel? Do you want to be with and be his partner? Even though I just met yesterday?”

Odo did not answer the question, only smiling lightly as if laughing at the emotional question. At a glance turning his gaze to a corner of the room, the young man put his hand to his chin and replied, “I don't know either. Even though I look grown up and can say a lot like this, I am still a child. Things like that are still too difficult for me to understand.”

“Seriously? Now you talk like that, Odo?” King Gaiel looked slightly astonished as the young man dodged.

“Hmm ...” Odo nodded lightly. Looking back at Princess Arteria, she said again, “However, at least now the only people I love in the world are my Mom and Dad.”

“Hmm?” Fiola slightly flinched.

Upon hearing those words, Fiola clearly knew it was a lie. In Odo's mind he had someone who had stopped in his heart, yet Fiola did not know him because what the young man had imagined was so vague.

Feeling Fiola was surprised at something, Mavis turned her head back and asked, “What's the matter?”

“Nothing, Mistress ...”

The king who saw the reaction felt that Fiola had realized something, but chose not to reveal it. Feeling that such a thing was natural because he was a Shieal serving the Luke family, King Gaiel did not mind it and looked back at Odo.

After that, King Gaiel asked many questions and made the conversation long. It lasted for five more hours, until sunset and made the other nobles wait anxiously in their respective guest rooms.

After the conversation was over and they went to the room to clean the body, half an hour later a welcoming party was held in the Main Hall. Because waiting too long, of course, the food available is not too fresh even though it has been reheated.
