Ariel awoke from her sleep when she heard a noise beside her.

There Joel stood while removing the bushel from the bag made of cloth. The fragrant aroma of spices and rib meat that burst out filled Ariel's smell making her hunger increase.

"Away awake?" sapa Joel turned his head with a smile on his lips.

"It sure is, honestly, it's making me hungry" Ariel said.

Joel chuckles at the frankness Ariel shows him.

"Do you want to eat now?" ask Joel.

"Yes, please,,!" greet Ariel. " I'm so hungry. I can't eat the food provided in this hospital" said Ariel.

"All right, I'll get it for you" Joel replied.

Joel helps Ariel sit leaning back, putting a pillow on her back so she can sit comfortably while eating.

"So you're done with work?" ariel asked filling the silence as she looked at Joel without his doctor coat.

"Well, that's it. My work hours have ended, and replaced by someone else" Joel explained as he returned to prepare food.

"Is that so?" answer Ariel. "When do you cook?" ask Ariel curious.

"Before coming here" replied Joel.

"You didn't put poison in it, did you?" ariel asked full of questions.

"Jeez, Ariel," said Joel to pat her on the forehead. " I swear, I'm really a doctor, not a killer" he continued.

"I'm just making sure" Ariel defended.

"Then have you seen my results?" continued.

Joel's hand stopped again and turned to face Ariel who was staring at him. She hesitated again, should Joel be telling the truth now?

Joel continues to prepare food for Ariel, then turns to face Ariel with a bowl of soup in his hand.

"Should I bribe you?" joel asked to shift the subject.

"Joel,," Ariel protested because her question was ignored.

"Hahhh," said Joel slowly. "I'll answer, but you have to eat first, I know you haven't eaten since you were conscious today" Joel said, "that's a report I got from the nurse who took care of you"

"Have I been unconscious for a long time?" ariel asked to accept the bowl in Joel's hand and start bribing him.

"Four days" replied Joel.

"Uhukk,,,!" Ariel chokes on spitting out her soup. " Your bunches are so bad" Ariel wiped her mouth with the back of her hand.

"Hey, that's not the way it is" Joel sidestepped Ariel's hand, then gently wiped Ariel's lips with her handkerchief.

"To be honest I was also a little surprised, you just came to your senses but had enough energy to nag me" Joel explained.

"But, it also can't cover up the fact that you were unconscious for four days" he explained.

Joel stopped the movement of his hand and looked into Ariel's eyes which were now right in front of him.

Their very close faces made Joel's heart beat fast. Swallowing her saliva, Joel's eyes fell on Ariel's lips, then returned to her eyes.

"So that means my condition is good or not?" ariel asked Joel from her daydream.

"There is a fracture in the fibula bone in your left leg. Or rather if I say it's broken. And, your head also has a pretty hard impact, it has an impact on the frequency of headaches that you feel after you are conscious," Joel explained after a moment of silence.

Ariel is stunned by Joel's explanation, and stops her eating. Noticing the change in Ariel's face, Joel again said.

"It can heal, it just takes longer and special treatment" said Joel.

Ariel gave a faint smile and shrugged before continuing to eat.

"You can call the police whenever you want, Ariel," said Joel, still staring at Ariel.

"Why should I call the police?" ariel asked, frowning.

"Because I'm the one who hit you, and I don't mind if you report me," Joel explained.

"And you're in charge of that, aren't you?" keep Ariel.

"Well,, I guess," Joel replied without turning his head.

"So, the police are not needed here" Ariel replied, making Joel turn his head quickly towards her.

"Are you sure of that?" ask Joel.

"Yes, I'm sure. Oh, I'm done," said Ariel thrusting an empty bowl at Joel.

"Have anyone ever told you that your cooking is so good?" flatter Ariel when Joel receives his bowl.

"Is that a compliment?" joel asked with a grin on his lips.

"Eerrr,,,," Ariel rolled her eyeballs in response.

"Ha ha ha,, it seems like you are not someone who easily gives praise to others" Joel guessed amusedly.

"Is that necessary?" greet Ariel.

"Hemmm,," Joel muttered softly as he stared fixedly at Ariel's eyes.

"The word needed sounds dismissive, but the flattery is very useful for people who hear it" Joel explained.

"Include you" said Ariel.

"Yep," Joel answered excitedly. " I always enjoy every flattery I receive" he continued.

"Broast," said Ariel.

"Whatever," welcome Ariel.

"Your behavior makes me think that someone just hurt you to make you look coldly at who's approaching you" Joel guessed.

Ariel widened her eyes, looking at Joel with a look of disbelief that she could guess correctly. Covering her shock, Ariel simply shrugged her shoulders.

"Does that mean my guess is correct?" ask Joel.

Before Ariel could answer, the sound of knocking on the door sounded.

The sound of knocking on the door made them distract and simultaneously stare at the door, waiting for who came on the night that the patient's schedule had ended.

They simultaneously widened their eyes when the door opened and a female policeman appeared behind the door.

The policeman put on a stern face, but remained friendly to Ariel.

"Good night" said the policeman.

Ariel nodded and smiled before replying to the woman's police greeting.

"Good night" Ariel replied.

"I'm sorry, I've interrupted your break" he said politely.

"I'm Charlie, I'm a cop on duty for accidents and traffic. I'd like to hear your testimony in the accident you've been through" Charlie said.

Ariel glanced at Joel a glance who looked agitated by biting her lips, a second later turning her gaze at Charlie who was standing in front of her.

"I'll protect you if you receive threats to your testimony" Charlie continued.

"I'm fine now, after all I don't see the face of the person who hit me either" Ariel greeted kindly.

"Are you being threatened by the perpetrator who hit you?" guess Charlie.

"Absolutely not," greeted Ariel. "I was right not to see that guy's face when he hit me. So, I'm sorry I couldn't give you more useful information" he said.

"Do you at least remember the car you used?" ask Charlie again.

"No," Ariel replied quickly. " This happened very quickly. Don't you think, the owner and the user of the car could have been different people?" ariel asked Charlie.

"You may be right, but I hope you can work together, call me if you feel unsafe" Charlie said, handing Ariel a business card.

Ariel accepted it with her best smile.

"Thank you very much, Officer Charlie," Ariel said.

Charlie stared intently at Joel who turned his face away from him.

"I hope you take good care of him, Doctor,!" hope Charlie. "Miss Ariel is still completely under our protection, if anything happens, we hope you can report to us" he said.

"Of course, this has become my pure duty" said Joel smiling.

Charlie finally smiled and reached out to Joel.

"Thank you for the time, I'll go so your patients can rest" Charlie said.

Charlie turned away from Joel and looked at Ariel.

"Hopefully your health will improve soon, miss," he said as he shook Ariel's hand.

Ariel nodded and thanked me. With that, Charlie leaves the ward, leaving them both back.

"You know him?" ariel asked suddenly as Charlie disappeared from their sight.

"You know him, don't you? He just introduced himself" said Joel.

"You know exactly what I mean, Joel. There's no point in you dodging!" ariel Syndicates.

"What do you mean?" elak Joel's.

"He knows you as well as only you know him" Ariel explained.

"Are you guessing?" joel asked smiling.

"He knows you're a doctor when you're not wearing your doctor's clothes, how are you going to explain that?" ariel hatch.

The smile on Joel's face faded away.

"Well, you got me," said Joel. "But I don't know him very well, that's the truth. I've only been involved with an incident and he's the one investigating it" Joel said.

"That's all?" ariel asked narrowed her eyes.

"Of course it's just that, what do you expect? Hmm?" joel asked while shaking his head.

Ariel just shrugged her shoulders in response.

"Rest, it's late,!" pinta Joel's.

"And you're leaving?" ask Ariel.

"I'll stay here, but if you feel uncomfortable with me, I'll go" Joel said.

"As far as you are" greeted Ariel.

'What the fuck am I? I almost told him to get out of here. If I throw him out, he might come back to blame himself again, bitch!!!" grumbled Ariel's heart.

Joel helps Ariel back to lie down, his hands tidying up the blanket that covers Ariel's body. It didn't take long until Ariel finally fell asleep with Joel sitting on the chair beside the bed.
