64. The togetherness returned

Slowly Joel leaned over and brought her face closer, locking her eyes on Ariel so as not to turn away. The distance of their faces was thinning, so Joel could see Ariel's eyelashes moving because of her breathing. Ariel closed both her eyes.

"DUDE,,,!!!"

"Hey, what are you two doing? I know you're inside" Charlie exclaimed as he struck the door.

Joel's movements stopped when he heard Charlie's scream, making Ariel reopen her eyes, then smile amusedly.

"SOR,,,!"

Again, Charlie hit the door with a louder voice.

"Sad, he's really annoying" joel grumbled.

Ariel chuckled softly, then tiptoed and gently kissed Joel's cheek.

"Hurry to finish wearing your clothes, I will wait outside. Don't let Charlie break the door" whispered Ariel.

"In a moment," prevent Joel from holding Ariel's hand as she turns around.

"What?" ariel asked, frowning.

Joel walked to the table beside his bed, pulled out the desk drawer and took out a small black box with silver ribbon on it. He gave the box to Ariel when he was back in front of Ariel.

"For you" said Joel.

"Forku?" ariel repeated, her hand welcoming the box, still staring at Joel in confusion.

"I bought it a few days ago, but I forgot to bring it when I visited your apartment, and only now remember it" Joel said.

"So, can I open it now?" ask Ariel.

"Of course" replied Joel.

Ariel opened the box and was stunned by what was inside. A silver necklace with the eyes of a clover-shaped necklace of four bardauns.

Ariel ran her finger over the necklace, then smiled.

"Beautiful" Ariel commented. "Thank you so much Joel" said Ariel smiling happily.

Ariel pulls out the necklace and intends to wear it, but Joel takes over and helps Ariel put it around Ariel's neck.

"How's it?" ariel asked for an opinion when the necklace had been attached to her neck.

"Beautiful," replied Joel with a satisfied smile.

"Me or the necklace?" Ariel Goda.

"Both," replied Joel again pulled Ariel in his arms.

"But in what order did you give me a gift?" ask Ariel.

"Hemm,," Joel muttered and thought. "At first just wanted to give it because you gave me a gift and I haven't paid for it. But, now it's too simple if I want to give you something because you're my lover" Joel said.

"So you bought this before we got into a relationship?" greet Ariel.

"Right, and I forgot to give it to her sooner," Joel replied.

"Then, why give this away now?" ask Ariel.

"Because it will look more beautiful if you wear it, and it turns out it is true" Joel replied smiling.

"I think the meaning of the four-leaf clover is real, because I got lucky by getting you" he added.

"Hooo, since when have you been this sweet?" cibir Ariel's.

"Come on," Joel answered, raising his shoulder. "One thing I know is that I'll do anything for you" he continued.

Joel drew his face closer, pulling Ariel closer to him, while Ariel's hand coiled around Joel's neck. As their faces drew closer,

"DUDE,,,!!!"

Once again, the loud noise of the door interrupts them, making Joel growl.

"What are you guys doing? Hey,, out!!" charlie shouted from behind the door.

"It seems like we're running out of time right now. I'll come out, and you'll catch up, too" Ariel asked.

Joel simply nodded, though clearly visible on his face he muffled the annoyance Charlie had indirectly made.

Ariel turned around and turned the key, then stepped out, finding Charlie still standing at the door.

"What are you doing inside?" search Charlie.

"Just help her for a second" said Ariel.

"really?" welcome Charlie narrowing his eyes.

"What are you thinking?" ariel folded her hands.

"Just think logically," Charlie answered raising his shoulders.

"What do you think people will think when men and women are in the same room?" satire Charlie.

"Woww, you deserve to be a cop, you are perfectly suited to interrogate suspects" Ariel replied calmly.

"Hahhh,, all right," whispered Charlie. "If you can answer this calmly, that means nothing happens" he continued.

"Your sentence just now sounds more like you're hoping something happens" Ariel said.

"Is that so? Or are you really going to do something?" reply Charlie.

Ariel raised her shoulders, acting indifferent even though her heartbeat was not completely under control. Recalling when Joel's face was very close to her made Ariel's face meet red.

Ariel stepped out followed by Charlie behind her. It was then that Ariel saw Bram coming with some luggage in his hand.

"You're coming? Did Charlie force you?" greet Ariel.

"Hey, what does that mean?" blow Charlie.

"Because you were impressed to urge him to come" replied Ariel.

"No, I wanted to come and congratulate him" Bram interjected.

"But I have one question" he added.

"What?" ask Ariel.

"Oh, you think I won't like your presence? Did she?" cut Joel.

Joel appears from inside his house cutting out the sentence that Bram is about to throw. Walk up to them and stand next to Ariel.

"Normally, that's the attitude you're going to show me" replied Bram.

"Why now I regret having suggested to Ariel to invite you" Joel replied.

"Woww, that's a surprise. You you? Invite me?" bram squinted his eyes in disbelief.

"Joel did ask me to invite you, Bram," said Ariel.

"I'm impressed" Bram greeted with a sceptical smile.

"Should I give you a gift for that?" continued.

"Oh, just one car for me. Thank you for offering," said Joel.

"You really know how to use someone" Bram said.

"I only replied when you offered it, what's wrong with that?" reply Joel.

"Hey, enough," interrupted Ariel laughing.

"Why do you like to fight over silly things?" coined.

"All right, I'll shut up" Bram replied.

"Ah, this, this, for you, congratulations on your achievement" Bram told Charlie.

"I don't know what you like, so I can only choose neutral things related to your work" Bram said.

"Thank you, Bram. I really appreciate it, "welcome Charlie to accept Bram's gift.

They finally started their show. They sat on wooden chairs with long tables in front of them and were accompanied by a bonfire not far from them.

Several other couples who happened to pass by also joined in enjoying the small party they made. The couple unceasingly praised the snack Joel made, making Joel blush.

During the activity, Ariel realizes that Joel deliberately does not show their relationship in front of Bram or Charlie, as if Joel wants to keep someone's feelings.

"Ahh, it's been a long time since I felt this free" said Bram.

Now, they were sitting on a sand mat, facing the ocean in front of them. The rest of the food that was on the table they ignored for a while.

"It seems you have a heavy burden" joel said, sitting near Bram with Ariel as their separator, while Charlie was on the other side of Bram.

"Basically, every job has its own pressure" Bram said.

"Alright, I have to agree with that one," Joel replied laughing.

"Only, everyone has their own way of dealing with the pressure that is in front of them" Ariel said.

"I regret those who actually vent to things that will harm them when they are depressed," continued Charlie.

"Even though, by enjoying time like this alone, it is enough to help release some of the burden borne by someone," he continued

"DIG,,,!"

Bram flinched, as if what Charlie had just said was a scathing insinuation directed at him.

"A week, I forgot to call someone" Charlie said, standing up.

"I'll be right back, '" he added.

Charlie stepped away with his mobile phone in his ear. Shortly after, Joel stood up.

"I'll check the pie I roasted, it looks like it's ripe now" said Joel.

After saying that, Joel left, he was seen entering the house in a hurry.

Silence shrouded between Ariel and Bram. Until one of them decides to break the silence.

"What's the reason you've been so drunk lately, Bram?" ask Ariel.

Bram turned his head quickly, looking at Ariel with a look of disbelief. What makes him even more surprised is that Ariel knows lately Bram is often drunk to forget what is raging in his mind.

"The reason I can tell is because I see your eyes are different than usual and I also smell the smell of alcohol from you" said Ariel.

"But I don't understand the reason" he added.

Bram paused for a moment to think, looking for a reasonable reason to accept.

"That's because my work in the last few days has been hard, coupled with the insistence of my parents" Bram said.

Bram said that by looking at the sea, reluctant to turn to look at Ariel who he realized was staring at him. Ariel will know quickly if it's just a baseless excuse she's made.

"What else do they push you to do? As far as I can see, you've had a lot of achievements" Ariel said without understanding

"If I knew the reason, I would say it, Ariel," Bram replied smiling wryly.

"But, after being in this city, I can be a little detached from their restraints, because the company this time, I manage completely without their interference," said Bram.

"Maybe my reasons sound cliche, but I have no complaints about their attitude" he continued.

Ariel was silent for a moment, looking at the face of Bram who was still not looking at her.

Ariel knows how Bram's relationship with his parents. Although they sanctioned their relationship back then, they never stopped pressuring Bram for their own satisfaction.

But Ariel also knew things had changed. What makes him not understand is why Bram had to lie to him?

"Bram,,?" call Ariel.

"Uhm..?" answer Bram.

Bram took a quick glance and looked at the necklace Ariel was wearing.

Ariel took a deep breath, and threw her gaze towards the sea.

"You lied very badly" Ariel said.

"Ukh, sometimes it sucks when you know me too well" Bram said, laughing awkwardly.

"Who's lying?" snatch someone from behind them
