Simon's Bride

Simon's Bride
14. Being a friend

Mrs. Sanders looked at Anna with probing eyes. It's been almost a month since she last told Ann the news from her best friend Luna. But the teacher's mother didn't seem to intend to move.

"There's no reason I should move, Mrs. Sanders. I'm doing fine. Really am. Nothing happened. So it seems like things are still safe. I hope that guy doesn't care and doesn't look for me."

A long breath sounded from Mrs. Sanders.

"alright. I can't force."

Anna smiled. Looking with gratitude at the bespectacled old lady sitting across the table in front of him. The woman's attention made her heart feel warm.

"Ah, one more. May I ask you something rather personal?"

Anna blinked, then nodded her head.

"Mrs. Bernard ... Leon's father, your classmate, right?"

"Yes." Yeah."

"He likes you? Ah, I mean .. he seems to be approaching you a lot lately."

"He didn't come near me, Mrs. Sanders. He's just asking about his son."

"really? She ... if not wrong .. rumor is she's a widower?"

Anna smiled a little. "Gossip?"

Mrs. Sanders flicked his right hand into the air with a smile. "You know how easily gossip spreads when there's a handsome guy coming every day right up to the front of the class to meet one of our teacher staff. Simon Bernard is so attractive. The ladies are a little jealous of you, Ann. " Mrs. Sanders laughed, his face curious.

"He didn't meet me, Mrs. Sanders. He just drove Leon, then picked him up."

"And forced to drive you home" said Mrs. Sanders with a probing tone.

Anna exhaled a long breath. He had heard rumors about it. His partner Brenda has even asked if he is dating Simon Bernard. Anna regrets why she followed the man's will, which forced her to come home when school hours were over.

Ah, no. It wasn't the man who insisted, but Leonard.

"But the news is true? She's widower?"

"Yes, right."

Mrs. Sanders raised his eyebrows. "He forced you to drive home, didn't he?"

Anna smiled tiredly. "Not Mr. Bernard, but Leon Mrs. Sanders. A few days ago he took the keys to my house, would have been given if I had gone home with him. The next day my keys were gone, my missing bag, he had hidden it in his father's car. The next day my phone was hacked. Then yesterday ... Leon won't come home if I don't come." Anna squeaked her own temple.

"Is he quiet?"

"The man .. I don't know. Yep. He's quiet, Mrs. Sanders. Until I wanted so badly to scold the man. I'm upset because he didn't do anything!"

Mrs. Sanders chuckles.

"Why are you laughing?"

"He was on purpose, Ann. The man was intentional."

"Come, Simon! Tell Leon not to be like this. I've followed her request to be friends with you. This is a school rumor!" Anna nagged while pulling the items she needed from the top of the shelf.

Almost every day followed by the father and son it made Anna a little familiar and began to leave a formal tone when talking to Simon.

"Gossip? What gossip? You're Leon's teacher, my friend."

Anna glanced in annoyance at the man. " I don't know why my colleagues don't believe that! They're more trusting of the notion that you and I are dating! That's right!"

Simon raised an eyebrow. Following Anna's steps that pushed the shopping trolley.

Anna turned her head, glaring while hissing. "I'm serious, Simon! We're just friends. I don't want anyone to misunderstand."

Anna scowled as the man simply replied by raising his shoulders.

"Hey, there's a lot of interest in you. You got greetings from Brenda, Tracy, and Susan. The beautiful women who are still single in Rainbow Kindergarten. You're terrific. They say you're a widower one of the most seductive kids. They said hello after I explained that we're not dating. We're just friends." Anna explained excitedly as she stared at a bottle containing sausage .

"Knowledge. You guys are gossiping about me .. why don't you add that I'm also good at cooking. Tell them I look sexier with an apron."

Anna sneers. "You cook because I forced you to. You want to eat at my cottage, then you have to help cook. That's the rule!" said Anna.

They're moving towards the refrigerator.

Anna took out a bag of packaged meat. "Steak? Barbeque ?"

"You choose." Simon takes over the trolley and pushes after Anna puts in her groceries.

Out of the store, Anna is shocked when she arrives in the car to find Leon asleep. The boy curled up in the back seat.

"Had he not come down. He's sleepy." Simon put the groceries in and immediately got behind the wheel. Anna followed as she occasionally glanced at Leon, confirming whether Leon had woken up.

They arrived at the end of the path to Anna's house. Simon went down and opened the trunk, unloading their bags.

"Give me the bag, let me take it. You just carry Leon," said Anna with two arms outstretched toward Simon.

The man shook his head. "Come, we're going to the cottage. I'll go back to pick up Leon. It's a lot and it's heavy" Simon said, nudging Anna on the shoulder with his upper arm as he passed by.

Anna glanced at the car. Leon's still closed, looking really good. Deciding she would have trouble getting the boy out and carrying him, Anna finally followed Simon towards the cottage.

He arrived and immediately went up to the porch. Simon was standing by the door. Waiting for Anna to unlock.

Riding on the veranda, Anna's eyes were stunned to see a pot containing her Begonia flowers lying on the floor of the veranda. Some of the land came out and scattered around the white flower pot. He frowned. Never once did the flower pots on the shelf he displayed on the porch divider ever fall during his stay in the cottage.

Simon looked at Anna's rather strange gaze. Followed Anna's view.

"I think there's an animal passing through your flower rack" Simon said.

Anna was surprised, turned her head quickly and immediately set her heart that was somehow pounding. He pulled out the key and opened the door.

"Animals? Likewhat?" ask Anna. He tried to calm his heart by justifying Simon's words.

Simon came in screaming. "Squirrel? I don't know ..." he put the bags on Anna's long sofa, then immediately went back out.

"I'll go get Leon."

Anna nodded. When Simon had already descended from the veranda, Anna immediately stared around. Nothing has changed. He also stared and researched the locks of the doors and windows outside. Still the same as when she left, Ann squatted down and began to fix her flower pot lying down, reinserting the scattered soil and putting the plant back on the porch barrier wood.

May Simon be right .. nudged by a squirrel ...

Anna gulped, feeling doubt for the conjecture that flashed through her mind. His eyes looked up at the shrub that was under the trees beside his hut.

A squirrel is too small to even just slide the pot ....
