Simon's Bride

Simon's Bride
23. Stranded

The ship moved away from the dock to the middle of the ocean, then sailed around the island.

Anna hugged Leon tightly. Leon became very quiet, it made Anna very scared. The boy must have been so shocked that he lost the ability to chatter.

"Fortunately me, handling a toy like this is easy for me. Andreas' family commitment to always be the best makes us three brothers must be able to show the best ability in any field. I found you a few weeks ago, Em. But I haven't been able to pick up yet, I'm taking care of our new house, taking care of the plans with Gery, just came here."

Anna did not respond to Martin's remarks. He saw a life vest near his seat, immediately picked it up and attached it to Leonard. Somehow he felt the need to attach a buoy to Leon. He hoped that they would not need to plunge into the cold sea.

"I thought you found another cat that caught your eye" Martin said.

Anna narrowed, looking intently at Martin, but he refused to make a sound.

"Who helped you escape?" ask Martin to Anna.

Anna was silent, as if she had not heard Martin's words. He pulled Leon's head, looking at Martin without blinking. Turn the boy's head to face him. According to Leon, his face met the coat material on Anna's chest. He closed his eyes, tightening his arms around the body of his teacher's mother. They were both sitting not far from Martin.

Martin glanced again at Leon who was now sitting on Anna's lap, Anna's two arms hugging him tightly, looking like guarding and protecting the boy even from his gaze.

Martin snorted to see Anna's position as if protecting Leon in such a way.

"That boy will be parting ways with you soon, Em. Don't get too close to him. You made me want to push him into the water, like old Hannah's yellow cat!"

Anna's embrace tightened as she felt Leon's body tremble. The boy must have heard Martin's words. Behind Anna's arm, Leon peeked at the ocean that was passed by their ship, looking dark, a shadow pushed into the middle of the deep ocean that made Leonard's eyes water again.

"Daddy ..." groaned Leon. He knew the man near them was a very bad person. When pulling his hand inside the hut, the man did not even care that he was in pain. Although Mam Ann was brave and always took care of her, Leon knew Mam Ann was not the man's opponent. They will survive only if his father comes soon.

"Shhhhhh .. dare you, dear. Your daddy's coming. Mam believes he's catching up with us" whispered Anna in Leon's ear. I hope in my heart that his words are true.

Martin was annoyed to see Anna whispering with the student's son. He got up, then quickly pulled Leon out of Anna's arms. Leon who had been holding back from the moment automatically cried out loud, his cry broke, he held his body on the floor of the ship, his hand reaching towards Anna.

"Take him off, Martin!" Anna pushes Martin's body, Leon who sees his teacher's mother crashing the body into the body of the criminal holding his arm immediately helps. Leon lifts a leg, kicks Martin's shin.

Martin's body faltered, then fell, hitting the navigation equipment. Their ship was swaying rather strongly, the tremors from the waves getting felt at Anna and Leon's feet as they stood up . But Anna did not stop. He lifted a board covering a chest that was on the deck. He quickly floated it towards Martin's head. Martin who had just stood back up fell down on the navigation equipment.

Martin laughed loudly as he pulled Anna's adrenaline ridden, wanting to knock the woman down the floor of the ship. The ship continues to split the ocean. The two adults who were wrestling did not care. Anna used her entire body to fight back. Martin's threat to plunge Leon into the sea scares him. Their neighbor Hannah's cat died when Martin drowned the creature in the water. Although no one knew about it, Anna knew Martin did.

Leonard clung to the iron barrier of the ship, he glared in horror at the dark sea water below. The crying is getting louder.

"Daddy!" exclaim the boy as strongly as possible.

Leonard's eyes were glued, when in the distance he saw the light of a beacon.

"Mr ... Mam ..." appoint Leonard.

Martin looked at Leon's index finger, then he called out to Anna.

"Stop, Emillia!" Martin smacked Anna's cheek. Made the woman lie on the floor.

"Mam ..," said Leonard, crying bitterly, he curled up while holding on to the iron.

Anna did not faint, but she was out of breath. His small body did not have enough power to knock Martin down. He remained lying on the floor, arranging and filling his congested lungs.

Martin had just stood up and was about to check the navigation equipment when he sensed their ship hit something.

Leon screamed again when the loud impact he felt. The ship shook and then swayed unstable. Anna sees Martin diverted to make the ship stable again. He got up slowly, glancing at the board he had used to hit Martin.

Anna is holding Leon. He looked around the place.on the right side, visible light from the flare that indicates they are in the waters of an island. Anna remembers three small islands that are around White Sand Bay. To be sure, they are not anchored where they should be. Because the darkness out there tells Anna that the place is uninhabited.

The Marcusuar on each of the small islands is now just a marker for the crew that the waters are shallow or there are many rocks. Of course for navigation needs they already use gps.

Anna weighs, ties Martin up and remains waiting on the ship, or goes down and swims ashore.

Anna decided she would quickly swim to the mainland. From the notes he read. Three small islands near White Sand Bay are uninhabited, but are often visited for natural tourism by tourists. Still visited by humans means harmless, Anna quickly breaks up.

He could not kill Martin. Waiting there and risking the man waking up was horrifying to Anna. Not to mention the sea conditions that he did not know whether it would remain calm next. Driving the ship back he didn't know how.

"Leon .. You believe Mam will take care of you with your whole life...."

Leonard nodded.

"We're getting out of here?"

Leon nodded back.

Anna saw a rope on the deck. He picked it up and started tying Martin's feet and hands.

"Leon, Mam jumped first. Jump when you tell me to jump. Okay?"

Leon nodded.

"Leon has to be brave."

Nod again.

Anna stroked the plump cheek of her student.

"Oh, Honey ... I'm sorry, Mum."

Anna wiped away the tears that had started coming down her cheeks. Then he smiled.

" Mom's going down now."

Upon seeing Leon's nod, Anna jumped into the sea. Cold felt in his body. He floated and raised his hand upwards.

Leon saw Mam Ann swimming agile like a fish down there. The distance of her and the sea water is not too high. Leon took off his grip on the iron.

"Come, Honey. Mama's gonna catch you!"

With complete confidence, Leonard without hesitation jumped, plunged into the sea water, greeted by the arms of his teacher's mother. The shadow of the sea goddess in the form of a beautiful and kind mermaid mother flashed in Leonard's mind. Taking her to another story from her beloved fairy tale picture books, distracts her brain from the terrible situation that is unfolding.
