"Let'soooooo!" Leon's screams screeched as high as the sky. The little boy frantically tried to release the long, crumbling object wrapped around his shoulders and neck while shouting repeatedly.
"Leon, don't move, honey" Anna tries to help, but Leon's writhing makes it difficult.
Leon screamed again, the shadow of a snake wrapped around his body making the boy panic.
"Gnh ... Leon, this is just a root. You hear Mam? It's a root."
Leon stopped moving as Anna's words were absorbed in his mind.
"Root?"
"Huum, this is creeping and Mam feels falling from above because Mam sighed the branch of the tree."
Leon breathed a sigh of relief. "Leon thinks it's a snake, Mam."
Anna fumbles and releases a creeping object on Leon's shoulder. It was then that they heard a voice that resounded from that distance.
"Answer!" That scream sounds far away.
Leon held Anna's hand. It squeezes very hard.
"Dad's? Daddy?" a small sobbing was heard at the end of Leon's speech, as if all his hopes had risen again because of the voice that had entered his ears.
"Sttt .. shut up, honey. Let's listen first. It's really Daddy or not" whispered Anna in Leon's ear.
Anna felt Leon nod.
Again sounds echoed. " Reply to Daddy, Leon!"
Anna and Leon clung on tighter.
"That's your father's voice, Leon."
Leon nodded repeatedly.
"But it's too dangerous to make a sound. Martin could be around here somewhere. It'll be easy to find us if we make a sound."
"Mam is right ...." Leon's whisper sounded lethargic.
"We're the only ones there. We're looking for your father. Let's hope he keeps calling us."
Leon nodded, then the two began to walk in the direction of Simon's voice.
A few moments on foot, Leon's steps slowed down. Anna stopped, then crouched down and examined Leon by feeling and feeling the temperature of the boy.
"Dear, why? Leon's cold?"
"Mr ... Leon's feet hurt a lot."
Anna immediately felt the leg.
A small sobbing sounded, as if the little boy was now trying to hold back his cries.
"When Dad has come ... can we not call him out loud? Leon's legs hurt a lot" Leon said in a hoarse voice.
Anna felt Leon's cold cheeks.
"Shhhh .. don't cry. Sorry, Mam. Mum shouldn't have taken you this far. Come here, get on Mam's back. We're gonna find your Daddy."
Anna turned her back to Leon, putting on her back so that Leon could ride.
"But ... Leon heavy, Mam ...."
Anna laughed softly. "Come, Leon. Don't underestimate Mama Ann. Mam offended that Leon thought Mam couldn't carry Leon."
Leon still stood hesitating, then his father's screams again rang out in the distance.
"Leon! Anna!" This time it was a little louder than before.
"Leon hear? That's really Daddy's voice. Come, Honey. We need to get closer to him."
Leon finally complied. The pain in his bare foot made him feel unable to step up. He climbed onto Anna's back, held both arms around her mother's neck, and Anna stood up, holding both hands against Leon's thighs and buttocks.
"We're leaving" said Anna. He still chose to walk among the trees that were quite close so that their figure was hidden in the shadows and darkness. Carefully Anna stepped up, adjusted her breathing and strengthened both her legs.
Simon's voice came closer. Anna felt her chest roll by hope, she stepped her legs faster.
Anna heard Leon's sobbing on her right shoulder. The boy's cheeks leaned over his shoulders, again hearing the father's voice made Leon unable to hold back the tears that had gathered in his eyelids since.
"Daddy ...," he whispered.
Anna let Leonard cry, she understood, for she herself was now about to cry. The uncertain expectations about the arrival of Simon they had been waiting for since leaving the cottage were now almost real. The man's voice was completely real, he just needed to find his figure.
The fear, horror and gripping feeling that wrapped Anna's heart seemed a little loosened, knowing that Simon was already on the island. Leonard will survive. Leon's going back to his father.
"Daddy ...," call Leon in the dark of the night. The issue is becoming.
Anna tried to endure the sadness that surrounded her little heart hearing the profound pain in the tone of the voice. The boy who had been raised and protected since infancy, would never have expected to experience such a terrible thing as kidnapping, running until both of his legs were sore in the middle of the night blind. Anna hopes there will be no prolonged trauma on Leonard. If this happens, he will continue to feel guilty throughout his life.
"Anna!"
Simon's screams were very close. Spontaneous Anna replied, telling her they were close to the man.
"Here! Simon's! In here!"
Anna was eager to run, but with Leon on her back, she could only walk as fast as she could.
"Simon! We're here!" anna shouted as loudly as possible using the remnants of her strength. His breath is hunting. His tears had already fallen, cried, shouted and walked quickly making his lungs as if squeezed out.
Anna looked at the light between the trees, the closer it got. But the shadow that came stopped making a sound. Makes Anna stop walking.
"Mom?" isak Leon wonders why his teacher stopped.
"Shhh .. We wait here first, Leon." Anna chose one big tree. Squatting down and lowering Leon, after which he hugged the boy while peeking out from behind a tree.
The incoming light seemed to stop moving, as if the person holding the light source was silent in place for a moment.
Anna decided to call again. I wish it was Simon. Tell them at least the direction of looking for them. But if it wasn't Simon, he and Leon wouldn't have been seen hiding. Fear makes him have to be careful.
"Simon!" exclaim Anna.
Sure enough, the light moved again, winding its way towards Anna's location. As the shadow darkened and the sound of footsteps grew louder, Anna peeked again, holding Leon's body to stay behind the tree.
"Gnh ... Leon stay here" Anna ordered. He hugged the student tightly, getting used to his eyeballs seeing the source of light that was getting closer and closer.
"Leon! Ann!"
The figure appeared among the trees. Although it was dark and could only see the silhouette behind the hand holding the flashlight, Anna could confirm that it was Simon. He was sitting limp, his embrace of Leonard loosened, as if he had lost all his strength.
"Mom?" whispered Leon, his eyes wide open. Seeking answers to who is coming. Confusion because he only heard the stuffing of his teacher's mother who was sitting limp.
"Daddy, it's your Daddy, Leon ...."
the explanation made Leon come out from behind the tree while shouting loudly.
"Daddy! Dad!"
Simon searched, directing the flashlight to the source of the sound.
"Dad ..." The call was whispered with great sadness accompanied by the sound of broken cries.
"Leon!" Simon runs, coinciding with Leon also chasing his father. He did not miss the leg that was hurt and injured. Leon rushed towards Simon's figure who immediately grabbed him and hugged him tightly.
"Oh my God ..," whispered Simon. His voice was hoarse withstanding the cries, but the tears he held were no longer able to hold. He sobbed, accompanied by the cries of Leon who roared crying with both arms hugging his father firmly.
