Anna put her bag at the foot of the bed. He had booked a room in an ordinary inn located on the main road, to make it easier for him to find transportation and also his needs while in White Clouds.
After hesitating, then weighing in a short time while at White Sand Bay airport, Anna finally decided to continue the journey according to her original plan. He knew nothing of the Bernard household's residence, and in his heart, there was little fear of what Simon's response to be cold, for their real situation was still contentious.
Anna glanced at the watch, as she went around looking at the condition of the city, arriving when it was late afternoon at the inn.
Anna grabbed the bag, then her hand picked up the phone that was inside. Whatever Simon's reaction, at least he's not dealing directly with the man.
Anna waited after pressing the call button. His heart thumped when a second later Simon's voice sounded.
"Hello?"
Simon's voice sounded flat and formal.
"Ha-hello, Simon? "
"Yes, it's me. Sorry, who is this?"
Anna felt like her body had just been drenched in cold water. He was silent with one hand still holding the phone in the ear, while the other held the chest. Anna's lips are feeling muddled. Has his phone number been removed from the man's contact list? Did Simon forget his voice so easily?
"Hello? Are you still there?" simon's voice sounded again.
Anna's hand brushed her chest in pain, something inside there felt like it was being sliced. Stuttering, Anna replied in a hoarse voice.
"It's me, Simon. Anna ... I called you this morning, but your phone's off."
"G ... Mam Ann."
Anna's heart felt like it was falling to the bottom. The man called her Mam Ann, a formal call as teacher of Leonard.
Anna's tears gathered on their own. He lowered his head and held back the stuffing. Trying to voice a sentence in a normal tone.
"I met Jhon this morning .. How is Mr Hamilton doing? Is he okay?"
"It's good right now."
Simon answered so short. Anna feels like she's intruding, Simon might just force himself to answer the phone. The man seemed to still be angry, or disappointed in Ann.
Of course, he sees you like you walk in a bar. He said it ....
Ann wiped her cheeks with the back of her hand. "Thank God .. may he improve and recover soon."
"Amen."
Anna gulped, then coughed a little to smooth her throat. He should have closed the conversation if he didn't want Simon to know he was crying. But there's something he has to say. Mrs. Sanders said one should budge, establish communication and apologize.
"Simon, about that night, at the bar. Over-attitude. You're my best friend, of course a good friend will remind us if we make a mistake."
There's no answer. The man just listened.
"I've been interfering with your time. Please say hello to Leon."
Since there was still no answer from Simon, Anna finally turned off the connection. A bitter smile fell on Anna's lips. His cheeks wet with tears, his heart felt pain and also empty, his body that had been tired all day was invited to go around more lethargic and powerless. Anna threw her body on the bed.
You lost one person who cared so much about you .....
Simon looked at his phone, imagining Ann's face calling. Anna's voice sounded somewhat different at the end of the conversation. Like the sound of people holding back cries. Has it succeeded?
Simon has not called the woman since they fought. He wants to know how Anna behaves when Leon and himself disappear from the woman's life.
Worried about Uncle Hamilton's condition, Simon can divert his longing and desire to talk to Anna. But his oversight of the woman never left. He asks Jhon to watch over Ann as she leaves.
Now, when Jhon tells Anna that he has gone to the White Clouds, Simon has Vincent send his men. He could not leave Uncle Hamilton. But Anna wants to keep an eye out.
"You're on purpose, right?" ask Vincent. They both sat on a long bench outside Hamilton's treatment room.
"What intentional?"
"Answer in a flat, formal tone ..as if you're not missing that woman. Phew ..." Vincent scoffed.
Simon just laughed. The first laugh Vincent had seen since the youngest Bernard came home. Hamilton's situation made Simon so scared.
Vincent learns that the three Bernard brothers already regard Hamilton as their own father. However, with Simon, Hamilton's relationship was very close. The man, who had accompanied Bernard as a teenager, directed Simon's two older brothers and took care of them since they were left by their mother by their father.
"I want him to feel like I'm ignoring him." Simon put the phone in a shirt bag.
"What is ignoring? You're in a hurry to get me to send people there. You're watching him even if not directly."
Simon laughed again.
"Thank God Uncle Hamilton was conscious. You seem to have to go home, Simon. Let me and Claude be here tonight. You home. Meet Leon."
Simon took a deep breath. "No. Before the entire re-examination came out."
Just as he finished talking, the door of the treatment room opened. Claude went out with the doctor and the nurse.
"All is well" said the doctor, smiling at Simon and Vincent.
After all the medics had passed, Claude patted his sister on the shoulder.
"You, meet Uncle, then go home. Sleep at home tonight!" Claude's orders.
"But ...."
"Nothing but! Meet Leon, Catty says your son is so lethargic! Not excited at all! He fasts, eats only a little!"
"good. Alright. I'll be home in a minute."
Simon said it as he stepped into the treatment room. Leaving Vincent and Claude looking at each other outside the door.
