"Mam Ann ... Which way should we go? You're not listening huh? What do you think?”
The question posed by Simon made the pensive Anna instantly flinch. He looked outside the car. They've arrived at the intersection. Simon's driver was waiting for him to show directions.
“Oh, I'm sorry. Turn left,’’ Anna said.
Bruno immediately drove the car to the left. Moments later they crossed several alleys and shops.
“Stop here, Sir,” Anna said.
Simon got down and quickly opened the door for Anna. The woman came out followed by Leon.
“Leon .. sorry. Just get here yeah. Mam Ann had to go to the store there. Mum needs to buy some ingredients for the kitchen. Mam's supplies are up,” Anna said with a smile, she crouched down to face Leon.
“We will wait, then drive you home.” Simon saw Anna frowning at his words just now.
“No need Mr. Bernard. I will be long ..”
“Then we will accompany you shopping so as not to feel long wait.” Simon waited, what more reason would Anna propose.
Anna did not run out of sense, she did not want to be waited on by the man at all.
“What if I don't actually want to shop, Mr. Bernard, but I work part-time there. My work hours are over until later tonight. Do you want to wait too?”
Simon knew the teacher's mother was starting to rile from the tone of Anna's voice that seemed to dislike if she still insisted on bringing the woman home. He decided to just back off. I don't know why Simon was curious to see where the mother teacher's house was.
“Of course not. If you are going to work at the store before you go home, then we will go. We're saying goodbye, Mam Ann. See you tomorrow at school, Leon .. say hello to Mam Ann,” Simon said.
“Mam really works there?” ask the little boy.
Ann just nodded small. “Now Leon home yes, thank you for delivering Mam until here.”
Leon was seen taking a deep breath, then with a heavy heart nod and say goodbye home.
Ann waits for Simon to get back in his car with Leonard. This time the father and son were sitting together at the back of the car. Leonard waved at Anna, who was immediately replied by the woman.
Anna moves in when the black car takes Leonard and his father away. He looked out, then took a deep breath. Because of his escape, he always felt like he was being watched when outside the house or outside of school.
Anna entered the shop she had appointed as her part-time job. He didn't actually work there, he just wanted to buy some stuff. Such as bread, jam, milk and also some other needs. After bringing his entire groceries to the cashier, the middle-aged woman who used to serve there smiled.
“Nona, you listened?’ ask the middle-aged woman behind the cashier.
Anna flinched and stuttered. “Ap—apa .. oh, forgive me.” Anna took out her purse from the bag, then gave the woman some money.
“You all right, Miss? Your face is very pale,” said the woman while giving Anna change of money.
Anna tried to smile, waiting as the woman stretched out her bag of groceries. “This, imaksih has come and shop in our store,” said the middle-aged woman. The words he always said when each customer finished trading.
Anna nodded and pulled her grocery bag, her eyes staring out the shop glass vigilantly.
"There's no way he's followed me all the way here. he certainly doesn't know about this island, I was definitely just wrong look,” Anna whispered to herself. But he was very careful when pushing the shop door and out into the hallway.
At the end of the street, he saw the man he had seen crossing the front of the shop. The one wearing the grey pet hat. The man arrived in front of a cafe, a woman greeted him and they embraced. With relief Anna exhaled. He had to start throwing away his fear, even if the man finally found it, Anna was ready to die to never obey him again. he had nothing or someone that could be made as a tool to threaten Anna again.
Anna's footsteps became slightly light, her heart was already beating normally again. He walked along the sidewalk, passing through several shops, until he arrived at a small street to the left. Anna continued walking, the houses along the small street were starting to quiet down, the distance between the houses was also a bit far. Anna arrives at a grassy field. He continued to cross the field until he arrived at a path that was between the trees. Anna continued to step into the path, until she arrived at a small house that resembled a cottage. Although made of wood, but the cottage looks sturdy and strong.
Anna approached the cottage and pulled out the key from inside her bag.The door opened and she arrived at her small living room. There were only three rooms in the small cottage.one small living room, one room and the back of the kitchen were the dining room of Anna.
Mrs. Sanders felt Anna was not safe living in the cottage, but instead, Anna felt very safe. He did not refuse when Mrs. Sanders wants him to stay with him. Anna didn't want to take that risk. If later he is finally found and then has to bear the consequences of his escape, then let him bear it himself. Anna is ready. He doesn't want to drag anyone else. He was already quite worried about Madam Luna helping him while fleeing. Mrs. Sanders has helped her a lot by accepting her work at school. For Anna, that was enough.
Anna doesn't want to be close to anyone. It will be dangerous for the person, he feels this solitude is suitable for him, he is enough to bring disaster to others, people who look sincere want to be close and love Anna, he said, eventually they have to experience terrible things. Anna would never let something like that happen again. But he also wanted freedom, a freedom that he hoped would not drag Mrs Luna or Mrs. Sanders is in danger.
