The Unforgettable Story

The Unforgettable Story
Section 53

The first week in the new workplace was a war for Kirana. He had to adjust to new responsibilities, tasks, and pace as the new division head. He had to work faster than he experienced while at the branch office. He had no time to relax or just take a breath.

The worst thing is that he repeatedly glances towards the sofa whenever he enters his room or door whenever he is at work. The boss is crazy. He was not at all afraid of gossip or people talking about them. He still came to his office just to kiss or hug her.

Getting ready to go home, Kirana headed for the ladies' bathroom. The watch circling his wrist showed five o'clock past ten minutes. His steps came to a halt in front of an alley entering the bathroom upon hearing Miles' name mentioned. He's leaning against the wall. From his voice he knew it was the voice of his co-workers.

But why is he hiding like this? They say the man's name doesn't mean he's in the woman's toilet. Just-there's. All of this was due to the man and his unnatural behavior that had made him become paranoid.

“Oh, yes?” said another woman.

“Iya. Last week Mr. Miles came to our office. Maybe meet Miss Kirana. Youknowah. He always watches for new employees to feel at home working with him.” replied the first woman to speak. Hearing her name being mentioned, Kirana locked her intention to go inside the toilet. He waited for a moment.

“Honey, his attention is always only limited to superiors to subordinates. Never more.” said the others in a disappointed tone. Kirana rolled her eyeballs. Just be right. He didn't happen that way to her. Kissing her that hot is not a form of attention to her subordinates.

“Iya. Too bad. Hasn't his wife died for more than a year? Why did he grieve for so long? I know they've been married for twenty years. But Mr. Miles is young and handsome. Many women who want to volunteer to be his wife.” said the third woman full of fantasy.

Kirana's heart almost stopped. Wife? That man has been married for twenty years? He frowned and started counting inside his head. He was married when they met six years ago. No. gabe. This is not true. There's no way Miles would lie to him. He can't lie to her. But it is impossible for his employees to lie.

“Include you?” second woman seductive.

“You don't want to?” challenge the third woman.

“I'm not sure I can match Bu Angie's beauty. Mr. Miles' wife is very beautiful. Surely he is looking for a replacement who is no less beautiful as well.” I am the second woman.

He had heard enough and did not want to hear their conversation further. He took a deep breath and then let it out. Slowly she smiled. But anger re-emerged in his heart. Miles, how dare you lie to me!

“In your opinion, Mr Miles likes women who how?” ask the first woman.

“I,” The third woman attempted to give an answer.

Kirana chose that moment to go inside the toilet. The three women inside immediately fell silent and returned busy grooming each other. Several times tidying up in the bathroom, Kirana had never seen them do the same before. But given their topic of conversation, he finally understood. They thought Miles was coming again so they were getting ready to give him his best performance.

“There is an event after work?” kirana asked kindly, acting as if she had not heard their conversation earlier.

“Ng, i, yes, Bu.” replied one of them nervously.

“Please. Have fun.” Kirana said as they rushed out of the toilet.

“Do you think he heard our conversation earlier?” whispered one of them when he thought they were far enough away from him. But he could still hear that sentence.

Kirana squinted her eyes. The smile on his face disappeared. So, she's married? He still can't believe it. He could not accept that he had been lied to. He's been married twenty years? Why did he admit to being single to her? He's a really shitty guy! If only he knew that the man was married, there was no way he would want to have intercourse with him. Oh. Nope, no. He can't think like this. Right, that man had lied to her. But without him, William would never have been born.

Oh. This is really shitty! He's in big trouble.

He had tried three times to seduce her with that touch of god. Just a small touch can make it float high and can not think clearly. How dare he act as if everything can go back to how it was. You liar! That man has no rights over him. They're not lovers. She's not his mistress. Argha! He wanted to bang his head against the wall.

“What's up, Mom?” william asked. Kirana raised her head.

“Nothing.” Kirana lifted one of her shoulders.

“You never eat while tapping a fork hard, Mom.” William looked at the hand of his mother who was still holding the fork and knocked on the plate with the object.

“Oh! Sorry.” He immediately raised his hand from the table.

“Your face red. Are you sick?” William stood on his chair and touched his mother's forehead with the back of his hand. “Warm.”

“I'm fine. Finish your food.” Kirana smiled.

“Can I help wash the dishes, Mom? As we did last night.” William said cheerfully as he sat back down.

“Bby.” It's easy he said yes. How could he refuse what his son wanted?

After dinner, they clean the dinner table and then wash the dishes together. William was so enthusiastic about helping her. Kirana dries the floor with a mop when her son goes to his room to get ready for bed. He read a storybook until William fell asleep. When he returned to his room, he could not sleep.

Miles' smile with his glowing blue eyes, dimples, and perfect teeth haunts him. He can't get it out of his head. It was as if he was pecking himself deep inside Kirana's mind when they met again. The room grew hot as memories in Singapore played vividly on his head, even though he had already closed his eyes tightly. That guy is so annoying!

At Friday's managerial meeting, Kirana was surprised to see Miles in the room as well. Whether intentionally or not, he chose to sit across from Kirana. Throughout the meeting, the man did not take a second to take his eyes off her. Trying to be reasonable, he did not look back at her. Whoever was talking, he would watch and listen carefully. When Miles spoke, he pretended to type something on his laptop.

As soon as the meeting was over, he rushed towards the door, before the man said something ridiculous like asking her to stay indoors or following him towards his office. From the corner of his eyes, he could see the man chuckling with small laughter because of his manner. Kirana doesn't care. He wants to keep his distance from her. That guy is dangerous.
