The Unforgettable Story
Section 6

He told everything that flashed across his head to his wife, nothing could calm him down. Miles nodded loudly. He loves his wife. She really loved him. But he was tired of this fierce quarrel that happened at least once a month.

“What happened to us, Angelica? Isn't that why you married me because you love me? Why is our relationship now defined by the presence of a child?” tanyanya did not understand.

“Because the child is proof of our love! If you truly love me, you will give me a child. You fail again and again. I'm starting to doubt that you love me.” His wife's accusation is growing.

“What? I can't give you a child, Angelica. Only God can. All we can do is try. And God gave some people the knowledge and expertise to figure out why our efforts didn't work either.” He was still trying to persuade her to check with him to the doctor.

“Usaha we didn't make it? Your efforts did not work! I've been trying hard here.” her protest cannot accept her husband's words. Miles took a deep breath.

“I can't do this keep. I have to shower now if I don't want to be late to the office.” Miles flicked away the blanket covering his body, then got off the bed.

“We're talking and you want to go?” angelica asked as Miles walked to the bathroom in their room. “Is that how your mama taught you to treat a wife?” The sentence stopped his steps.

“Don't bring Mom in our problems. He has nothing to do with our problem.” Miles gritted his teeth. “I have an important meeting this morning. That one was not called talk. You're looking for me on charges without evidence. I've said what I have to say and I've heard enough of everything you want to say.”

“But I haven't finished talking!” said objection.

“You've been saying those charges for five years, Angelica. Do you think I can't memorize it out of my head? We'll talk if you stop mentioning my failure to give you a child.”

“What else would you like to hear if that was the reality? You'd rather know that I'm barren. Yes ‘kan? So you can force me to adopt a child. Son of a stranger. Ye know? It's the same as admitting that you can't give me a child!”

Miles is eager to slam the bathroom door to prove he can also be angry and offended by all his wife's accusations. Butno. He chose to close it as soon as possible. Previously, he had never allowed emotions to control his actions, hence this time as well. As soon as the door was locked, he exhaled a long breath trying to ease his emotions. He stood for so long under the shower water until his entire body began to shiver.

She was so relieved to see Angelica was no longer in the room. She wears her work clothes as soon as possible. In the dining room, he saw that breakfast for him was available. A middle-aged woman greeted him kindly. The housekeeper and his cook took care of all his needs well, also always happy every time he saw it. Why can't his wife do the same?

The driver had been waiting beside the car as he exited the front door. Miles said good morning and smiled at him. The man named Markus opened the car door for him. Half an hour later, he arrived at his office. The twenty-story building that became his pride. His work for twenty-five years.

His personal assistant, Kemala, immediately followed him into his room. Miles smiled as his favorite black coffee was available on his desk. His computer had been turned on and a pile of reports had been neatly arranged on his desk. He was ready to work today.

“What is my agenda today? I know this morning there was a meeting with the head of the branch office. The others?” ask Miles while sipping his coffee. He muttered softly praising the delicacy of the drink.

“At twelve, you have a lunch appointment with Mr. Hasan regarding his organization's funding plan. At three in the afternoon, there was an appointment with the governor at the town hall with other foreign businessmen. That's it, Mr.” reports the woman effectively.

“Tonight I have no dinner appointment?” ask Miles wonder. “Why didn't you say?”

“I told you last night, sir. You ask that the schedule remain empty. Tonight you plan to the fitness center.” he reminded. Miles nodded.

“Oh, yes. Is correct. I forgot.” Miles was relieved. “Good. Thank you, Kemala. You can go back to your desk.”

“Good, Sir.”

During the meeting with the branch office leader, Miles smiled satisfied with the performance they were doing. He did not even have to bother giving ideas because they each eagerly gave each other input as well as evaluation. One of the advantages he enjoyed since he dared to take the risk of hiring young people to lead his company's branch office.

Lunch with Hasan went well. He was pleased to hear of the efforts the organization had made to help develop community agriculture in the area. They are also involved in developing education in these areas. It is for this reason that Miles does not stop working hard to make a lot of money. He wants to provide as much funding as possible to support organizations that care about community development.

Although he sent money anonymously, they always managed to trace the origin of the money they received. Not infrequently they hope to meet and talk with him. He doesn't want to take them in his office. His involvement in social action is a secret. He doesn't want anyone to know. Lunch with them was difficult. They forced him to buy it and refused the money he had prepared to pay for their food.

Miles knows their pay isn't great. Seeing their efforts to show her gratitude, she finally let those who paid for her food. Hasan gave him a monthly report book on the activities and transactions of their organization's funds. Reports he usually receives in the mail. He listened to the man explain the big programs they were working on, the challenges they faced, and the solutions they had already implemented.

On his way to town hall, Miles continued reading the files he had brought from the office. Every now and then he looked towards the street in front of them or simply glanced right and left to make sure that he would not be late. Then something happened quickly.
