Two hours later they arrived at Miles' house. They are tired, hungry, and dirty. William awoke when his body was laid to bed. She wanted to eat but Kirana asked her to take a bath and change clothes first before dinner.
Miles left them and walked towards his own room. Inside the bathroom in her room, she stood under the shower for as long as she needed and cleared all fear, fatigue, and hatred from her head. Since he wanted to protect his family, he should be able to clear his head. After taking a shower, she wears a loose white T-shirt and cotton trousers that she used to wear while sleeping.
He came out of the room and checked on them in the next room. Kirana was sitting on the edge of the bed looking at her toes. From his standing position, Miles could not see clearly the facial expression of the woman he loved. Clean pajamas that seemed to belong to William were placed on the bed. Not far from the woman.
“Hey, let me accompany him.” Miles said at the doorstep. Kirana raised her head. “You shower. Room next to.”
“Thank you.” Kirana stood up and walked towards the door. Miles hugged her as they stood side by side.
“Here you guys are safe.” Miles kissed Kirana's temple. The woman nodded slowly. He came out of that room.
Five minutes later the bathroom door opened. William came out, looking fresher and fragrant. Since he was wearing only his underwear, Miles gave his pajamas away. Deftly, the child wears his own sweatshirt and sleeping pants. Then he approached his father and hugged him.
“Are you hungry?” ask Miles. William nodded quickly. Miles clasped his hands toward the dining room downstairs.
“Wow, Dad. This house is huge.” William said as they descended the stairs. “In my opinion, it must be nice to stay at this house.”
“You will stay here from now on.” Miles said. Whatever Kirana would think or her rejection of this idea, she would take care of it later. He's gonna change that woman's mind. If she can't, staying in their house isn't a bad choice either.
“Sama Mom too?” William ripped her out of her daydream.
“Yes. Same Mom too.” Miles consented. His son cheered happily.
“Who are you staying here with, Dad?” william asked to know.
“Together with the people who will help a lot so that we can stay here more comfortable.” he replied. William frowned.
“I don't understand.” he said honestly. Miles laughed a little.
“I will introduce them one by one to you later.” Miles opened the door to the family dining room. There was only a small dining table with six chairs in the room. A woman greeted them. “Well, introduce, this woman is Wanda. He's the housekeeper and the main chef in this house.”
“Hai, my name is William.” The boy reached out his hand to shake Wanda's hand. The woman welcomed him. Although his face was smiling, he looked at his master full of question marks.
“Will I explain to you later.” Miles promise. The woman nodded in understanding.
Wanda serves beef steak, refined potatoes, lettuce dishes, and fries for their dinner. William cheered pleasantly at the sheer amount of food served on the table. Wanda served two glasses of drinking water to the two of them according to her master's request, then left the room. William and Miles ate voraciously and no one tried to open the conversation for a few minutes.
“Maybe he overslept. We let him rest, yes.” Miles closed the water tap and dried William's hands using a small towel.
“OK. But that means you have to read the book for me, Dad.” cheers happy.
“Read a book?” ask Miles confused.
“Iya. Mom always read books to me before going to bed.” replied William. He deserves to be so smart. She learned a lot from listening to her mother read to her.
They watched a family movie until William was sleepy. As soon as he entered his room, William immediately jumped on the bed and lay down. Miles picks up a book that has a full color cover and opens it in a section where a book divider is located.
After reading two sentences, William asked a question. As much as possible he answered. Miles always remembered Kirana's words in order to be careful about giving answers because their son would remember them. So, he must give an answer that will not deviate from logic. After several times cutting his papa sentence with questions, the little boy finally shut up and listened to his papa read a book.
Miles sighed softly when William finally fell asleep. He fixed the location of the blanket covering his son's body. He nodded as he kissed her forehead. How could a child as small as this have so many questions in his head was beyond his logic. Unsure whether his son slept in a state of outage or was alive, he chose to turn off the room lights. Then he closed the door as quietly as possible.
Miles went down into the kitchen and saw that Wanda had prepared what she had ordered. With both hands, he lifted the tray on which had been placed a plate of beef steak complete with fine potatoes, and lettuce, as well as a glass of water and a mug filled with warm chocolate.
In her room, she did not see Kirana anywhere. So he put the tray on the nightstand and checked the bathroom. He wasn't there either. But he smiled. That woman must be in the other room. Basic female. When he opened the door of another room, he found her sleeping on the bed with her feet hanging on the edge of the bed. She had changed clothes but her hair was still wet.
Miles slowly approached her. After gently wiping the hair covering her face, she kissed her lips. The woman's forehead wrinkled but she did not open her eyes. Then Miles kissed her again, teasing her. He already liked his new habit of waking up his woman. Kirana growled in annoyance.
“Build, Kirana.” Miles stroked his cheek.
“I want to sleep.” he said sleepy.
“Bby. But before, you had to eat.” said Miles did not give up. Kirana lifted her legs to the bed and turned her back to the man.
“I'm not hungry.” reject Kirana.
“You don't, but a fetus in your womb?” miles reminded him. He groaned again and sighed softly. Miles knew that sentence would work. He always loved others more than himself. With the baby growing inside her womb, she could not carelessly go with her health.
“Miles, I hate you.” umpat Kirana.
“I know that. You have said it often, thank you.” Miles laughed a little. He placed his hand on Kirana's back and under the curve of her knee. Without any significant difficulty, since he was as light as a feather, he carried him to his bedroom instead, their bedroom. Because that's where he's supposed to be. Right on his side.
