Miles kept his eyes fixed on the taxi in front of his car. Not a second did he take his eyes off. Markus drove the car carefully and gave it a safe distance. After an hour of movement, the taxi stopped in front of a bakery. Markus parked the car on the side of the road not far behind the taxi. Half an hour later, the woman got into the taxi and the sedan was back on the move. Mark followed them.
The next half hour, they entered the minimalist home line. Some houses are two-story, others are not. Kirana's taxi stopped in front of a two-story house. There was only a little yard in front of him. When the woman got out of the taxi, a boy ran to hug her. Miles straightened his body. Where did that boy come from? Who her? As they join hands into the house, something resuscitates him.
Miles clenched his hands tightly. Kirana has a son. Not just an ordinary kid. The boy had blond hair and pale white skin. If he could see the color of his eyes, he could definitely confirm his suspicions. But without that, he knew, the boy was his biological son. During this time Kirana hid her son's whereabouts from her. They had been working together for two weeks and he did not say a word about their son.
His hand touched the doorknob of the car but he did not open it. His feet almost ran to find the two most important people in his life. He stopped himself and did not do it for one thing. Kirana will run away from her face again. And this time he'll be gone forever. That's a risk he doesn't want to take.
Maybe that's why he rejected her proposal. He thought once Miles found out about their son, he would try to snatch it from him. What was Kirana thinking? He'll be happy when he finds out they have a child together. It was a dream he did not dare to expect to come true. And the child will further strengthen their reason for marriage.
He was angry, furious that the woman was hiding the whereabouts of his son. Angry because Kirana does not believe in all her words that promise to love her and protect her. But not angry enough to leave him and take their son away. She loved.
“We go home, Mark.” Miles orders to his driver.
Mark drove the car away from the place where the woman he loved and his son lived. They passed the house. He saw the lights in an upper room light up. Kirana's shadow appeared as she closed the window curtain. As the woman shut the door of her heart tightly from him.
That night, Miles couldn't sleep. He did not find a way or strategy to catch the woman while she was with her child. She was so sure Kirana would run away from him if she wasn't careful. When he does not do something, the chances of the woman going away from him remain. He threatened to deliver his resignation tomorrow. What's he supposed to do?
The next morning he left for work with a troubled heart. Arriving at his company, he did not immediately go to his room. He went to the information room. Some people had already arrived and were engrossed in chatting while holding the cup in their hands.
Seeing Miles coming, they stopped talking and greeted him politely. He returned their greetings without stopping walking. He opened a door at the end of the room and did not even think of knocking. The man behind the door deserves that treatment.
“You know he has a child.” Miles said annoyed. Reynand looked at him in surprise. Then he understood what his superior meant.
“She got pregnant while working in one of your company's branch offices. I have my own reasons for not telling you about that one thing.” said the man in self-defense.
“You've seen my son's photo.” accuse Miles.
“True, Sir. I collected pieces of puzzle pieces and concluded that my interest in Ibu Kirana is because you have experience in the past with her. The boy is proof. He's similar to you.”
“But, Sir.” said Reynand objected. “Mother Kirana is the only person who has the right to tell you or not about the child. I have no right to do so.”
“I asked you to find information about him. Every thing about him. That means there are no exceptions here. There cannot be any facts hidden. And you, you cover up the most important facts about her. Great, Reynand. I could have fired you for disobedience.” threatened Miles.
“You need me too much to do it, Sir.” said Reynand amusedly. And he's right.
“Someday you won't be as lucky today.” Miles straightened his body. “I need information about the boy. Born where and on the date. Call me as soon as you get that information.”
“Good, Sir.”
Miles had just gotten into the elevator when his phone shook. He took it out of his suit pocket and read the name on his screen. Reynand. He gave the name of the hospital where his son was born and the date. After the phone call ended, Miles saved his phone back. He pressed the numbers towards the ground floor. He shook his head slowly. His son was born in the hospital where Pranaja worked. All this time, they were so close to him.
The receptionist at the hospital would not give him any information about the baby who had been born there. He mentioned his name but there was no information about a child with the father's name ending in Bradford. That's when he realized. Six years ago he and Kirana didn't know each other. They use pseudonyms. He massaged his head with his fingers, unable to imagine the name of his son's father was Romeo. She mentioned Kirana's full name and from the expression on her face she knew that in front of her was information about the baby. But the woman still kept her mouth shut.
“I just want to know the name of the baby.” pinta Miles don't give up.
“And you are.?” tanyakanya. Miles took a deep breath.
“I'm his father.” he said impatiently.
“I'm sorry. But there is no information about the father on this information. There's only a mother's name. I cannot divulge information about patients to strangers.”. It's really unbelievable.
Miles slapped his hand at the counter growling in annoyance. Then he remembered something. Talk to Kirana about the name of the child. Ja. He asked about the names of boys and girls if he had children. The conversation that he thought was strange at the time, he could now understand. Their son was a boy, so it was likely that the name of the boy she had been told was what Kirana had given to their son.
“William. The boy's name is William, right?” ask Miles expectantly. The woman just kept quiet and left the counter. Miles groaned in annoyance.
