The following week, his work was very busy. He delegated some work to his partner. In the morning, he did not take a deep breath. Kirana glanced at her watch. It's lunch hour. He immediately picked up William from his school. They had lunch together at William's favorite American restaurant. He woke up late this morning so he could not prepare his lunch.
After driving her son to daycare, she walked leisurely to her office. Arriving at the entrance, he saw Miles walking in front of him and immediately dodged. He checked the elevator. The nearest one is two floors above it heading upstairs. Too long to wait until the elevator comes down again. He didn't want to be in the same room as that man. He ran to the emergency stairs.
“Juliett,” call someone from behind. Recognizing the owner of the voice, Kirana did not stop. Why did he call her by that name? He hastened his pace. Looking at the toilet sign in front of him, he changed his mind and headed towards the female toilet. Hopefully that man won't follow her again. He stood facing the mirror as he tried to calm himself down. Hearing the door opening, he looked.
And there he stood with all his good looks. “Pak Bradford, this is a ladies' toilet. The men's toilet is next door.” Kirana said trying to calm down. Miles closed the door and stood by the door. Kirana frowned.
“Pak Bradford? Where's Romeo's name? You always call me by that name when we're just alone.” Miles smiled meaningfully.
“We have agreed that what happened in Singapore will stay there.” Kirana looked around. The way out is only one and that means it has to go through the man.
“And I have been and am doing it. I didn't mention your real name at all, didn't talk about anything personal, didn't ask for a phone number. You didn't say our deal included that special nickname.” Miles pulled one of his shoulders.
“My name is Kirana, not Juliett.”
“Any. You're better suited to Juliett's name. With two letters t.” seduces Miles while imitating the moment Kirana introduces herself. The woman squinted her eyes. “I haven't seen you for the past few weeks to make you feel comfortable adjusting to this office. But I can't wait any more than that, Juliett.”
“I still have work. I have to go back to my room now.” Kirana walked past Miles who was still standing by the door. The man grabbed his arm.
“Pak Bradford,” protest Kirana. Miles wrapped his hand around the woman's waist and his other hand touched her cheek.
“I miss you Juliett. Don’t you miss me, too?” I miss you, Juliett. Don't you miss me too? Miles shakes his head. He looked towards Kirana with a serious look.
“I hate to hear you speak English. You should have told me that you could speak Indonesian.” hissed Kirana. He ignored formal language and chose to speak casual language with it.
“I can't guess what nationality you are. You can be Thai, Malaysian or Filipino. Your face lines are very similar. From your accent, my first guess was indeed Indonesia. But because of our deal, I can't ask. Remember?” Miles raised both eyebrows. Kirana closed her lips.
“Are you mocking me? When we were having dinner at the restaurant discussing the deal, you seemed very interested. Not at all demeaning me like you are doing right now.” Kirana frowned. Miles smiled.
“I'm not mocking you, sweetheart. Now answer my question. Do you miss me too?” With her hands, she wiped the bangs covering Kirana's forehead.
“No. I'd rather think that I'll never see you again. That's why I don't miss you.”
“Long.” Miles looked at his face. “I know when someone is lying. Your voice shakes when you're lying, sweetheart. Three nights together is enough to get me to know you inside and out.” he whispered in a seductive tone.
“Stop doing this, Mr. Bradford. What if someone comes?” Kirana returns to being formal and immediately puts her face away as Miles tries to kiss her. With both of his hands on the man's chest, he tried to push it with all his might. But the man did not move at all.
She can't let him kiss her again. His influence was too strong and his touch made him addicted. Years of learning to forget him, he didn't want to repeat from the beginning again. It was enough she cried almost every night for missing the man for the past six years. No more.
“What happens if someone comes?” Miles moved one of his hands to Kirana's upper back, tightening his embrace.
“They will think that I am teasing the new one-year-old chief director.” spray it upset. Miles' laughter exploded. The woman went back to trying hard to get out of her embrace.
“Good. I finally got caught.” Miles laughed a little. “Now I understand the source of this anger.”
Kirana's frustration rose to the crown of her head. “Exploitation! You lied to me! You said you were single. Turns out you were fifteen years married when we met!” peekik Kirana restrained. He rebelled wanting to escape his embrace. “Let me go!
“I told you, I'm stuck by your charm, Juliett.” Miles kissed her lips. “I'm sorry. But I can't help myself from the fragrance, the beauty of your smile, and the light of your eyes. I miss you.”
Kirana's world instantly swirled around as well. His head refused but his heart craved his kiss. The man took advantage of his worried state. He knew very well how to divert Kirana's mind with his touch. He knew how to make her stop resisting with her intoxicating kiss. As Miles' hand moved to the back of his head to deepen his kiss, Kirana leaned on him.
Kirana ran out of air, but she did not stop. He pulls Miles' coat collar in the way of the man ending his kiss. He has trouble breathing as Miles tightens his arms, but he doesn't care. For now, he wanted to obey his will and ignore the warnings he had in his head. This is a repayment for the missing six years.
As if understanding his circumstances, Miles kissed him casually, giving him a chance to breathe in relief. “Dining with me tonight.” Miles said on the sidelines. Kirana was in the clouds, but her head was still working well.
“No.” reject Kirana firmly. Miles stopped his kiss.
The man moved his head away in order to see the face of the woman before him clearly. Kirana bit her lips to hold back her protesting voice. Why did he stop kissing her when he still wanted to? Can't he just stop talking for a second and finish what he started?
